  1. Does anyone have an educated guess as to when we might see free 2 play go live? This is NOT a topic ABOUT the free 2 play option. I don't care about your opinions. I just want some guesses about when it will be implemented. If I'm not mistaken, it's going to be sometime in 2012, so my guess is mid October. Post your guesses.
  2. Alright alright, fine. You've all convinced me. I need to take a closer look at this. I'll replay KotOR 2 once I get back from my vacation, I'll look at everything Kreia says with an extremelly critical eye. I guess my fondness for her character must have clouded my logic while playing through the game. I have to give Obsidian credit for writing a character that can keep tricking you even after she's exposed herself as a "darth". That, or I'm just stupid.
  3. I was always under the assumption that he went to find something LIKE sith, but not an Empire led by a maniacal emperor. I suppose she couldn't know everything. The reason I asked was because she's right about a lot of things in the game, and I was unsure about this one. My take on this from what Kreia said is that Revan became the Dark Lord as a sacrifice, not by choice. He did it so that the Force would be in balance again. Similar to what Anakin did in episode 3, although he did not know what he was doing and he was a horrible character so that doesn't count in my mind. The last part of your post makes me sad :/ Obsidian have always been the superior writers, Bioware should have listened to them.
  4. How do we know she didn't? After the Jedi Civil war, Revan stayed around for like what, a year? Kreia or Revan could have tracked down each other. They both had legitimate reasons to want to see each other. Revan could have wanted to ask Kreia about his past considering that he started remembering stuff. She was his old master after all.
  5. You can ask her if Revan ever encountered the Sith, to which she replies something like: "No, Revan never encountered any Sith Empire." I'm sure the exact quote is somewhere on the Internet, I'll try to find it.
  6. I put a lot of faith in what Kreia says. In KotOR 2 she states that Revan never encountered a Sith Empire of any sort in the Unknown Regions. Yet in TOR, that is completely retconned away, saying that Revan was actually a pawn of the Emperor in the Jedi Civil war. Is this a case of Kreia as a character being flat-out wrong? Is she lying to not discourage the Exile from leaving? Or is it a case of Bioware not paying attention to Obsidian's writing and just going with what they wanted? Does anyone know why they decided to completely change the story?
  7. In my headcannon Revan and the Exile's storyline wasn't brutally molested by the Bioware writers. They should have left those characters alone goddamnit I would have preferred nothing to be said about them.
  8. The prequels are crap. The originals are fine. Besides, the Star Wars universe is a lot bigger than just the movies, there's so much stuff that other people besides George Lucas have made that the IP isn't just his anymore imo. I can not point out the "junk and pebble" skills in KotOR, I never said TOR took EVERYTHING from KotOR without making up their own stuff. If you want an example of how close TOR can be to KotOR in terms of skills, I believe the Sith Inq. has a "Whirlwind" ability. It's pretty much exactly the tier 2 Force Push skill from KotOR 1 and 2. A lot of animations in TOR are very similar to the KotOR ones etc. KotOR is the biggest point of reference for TOR but it's not the only one and it does not mean that they can't innovate. The only thing I meant with my post was that it is wrong to judge how TOR handles it's classes based on movies that take place several thousands of years from it. Sure they can be like them, but just because Jedi in 50 ish BBY use other sets of skills than Jedi in 3000 ish bby doesn't invalidate the 3000 ish bby ones.
  9. Right, because a game that takes place several thousand years before the piece of **** movies take place has to abide by their rules. With SWTOR you have to think of KotOR as your greatest point of reference. Forget the movies, they're crap. The only reason they claimed the classes were reminiscent of the movie characters were for marketing purposes. I guess the closest thing to a Sage I can think of is Kreia, there may be better examples, but that's what popped into my head.
  10. 1. Didn't say it works, I just said it was their reason. If everyone wore robes the silluette of the Knight would be distinctly different from the consular. 2. Ever seen anyone take off their robe in SWTOR? No. Didn't think so. Instead of having to make every robe removeable they just made them flop around less. So it's "semi-practical". The consulars are supposed to be a more static class so they don't need belts on the outside. I still agree with having belts removed from Knights, just telling you my theories as to why they are there in the first place.
  11. Never cared much for anything else than the story. I wanted KotOR 3, I got this spin-off. I'm making the best of it. Playing through the story with silicone in my butt isn't exactly doing it for me.
  12. Well, all robes for Knights have belts around them for a very simple reason. It's supposed to be easy to differentiate between a consular and a knight at a distance. As for why someone would wrap a belt around his robe in the first place, I think it's so that the robe doesn't flop about everywhere and gets caught in the knihgt's lightsaber. I agree though, it does look silly.
  13. I don't see how this could be hard to fix, it's not a clipping issue, since it works in the preview window, and it works when you have an animation besides standing still going on. The only thing they need to do is fix the model a bit. It wouldn't take them that long. So the only thing I can think of is that they are A: Lazy. Or B: The fix they've already tried caused a worse issue to appear. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this ourselves? Is there a specific setting that needs to be put to a certain level in the graphis options?
