Ok, so this is part me venting, and part me really wanting to understand the logic behind the normal mode forced loot handout. My guild (10/10 HM 2/10 NiM) realized a couple weeks back that, oddly enough, we didn't have a dps merc or a sniper or a juggernaut, so we did not have the armor reduction debuff on any boss. In debating this, I decided to shelve my Sorc main and roll a Juggernaut.
Tonight was my first raid night and my HM+ Ops geared guild basically ran me through EV/KP for loot. Here is where I get frustrated. In total, 16 pieces of Sith Warrior gear dropped. Yes you read that right, full clear EV/KP dropped 16 pieces of SW gear. How many of those did I get you ask? 2. Yes, you also read that correctly, I got 2/16. The other 14 pieces went to our 2 Marauders, both are full Columi/Rakata. None of the pieces they received they needed, or even had a companion that needed them, so they vendored them.
So, my question is: how is this a logical loot setup? My sorceror is geared equally with the rest of my guild, but I feel like this system only really works for pugs or guilds who are just beginning to clear the content together so everyone gears up at the same rate. This method is significantly reducing the ability to roll an "Alt" or a second character to change the composition of our raid.
TL: DR The loot system does not work well for helping/gearing up secondary characters in an endgame focused guild.
