  1. Had just finished clearing Hammer Station, getting my first 2 lvl 55 "epics"...hope there's no rollback... And was supposed to be raiding S&V HM now...*sigh*
  2. Again, my main issue isn't with the droprate but the duplicates and total lack of control over which piece you end up with. I'd be fine with a far lower droprate than the current if it meant I could actually choose which piece I got. Or even if there was just a system that prevented you from getting duplicates until you had gotten one of each piece (2 in the case of implants and relics)
  3. Never said anything about it being broken, simply that it's designed poorly, as the rewards clearly don't reflect the effort you put in. Just like the GTN is working as intended, which doesn't mean it's remotely practical or working good. Working as intended doesn't by default mean working well. My main issue isn't with the randomness of how often you get gear pieces, it's that you have no control over which pieces you actually get. With a system like this, if someone's really unlucky, they can farm for a year and get nothing but a gazillion relics or something like that as there is nothing preventing you from getting duplicate after duplicate after duplicate.
  4. Another great example of the utter RNG'ness of the system. You say you got champion gear in 1/3 of bags. Last week I opened 27 bags and got 1 relic. You say you got 1 BM comm in 16 bags, a guildie of mine got 2 in his first 4 bags. So again I ask the question, where is the effort <-> reward relation?
  5. As always...no resonse to this issue from bioware... Would it really be so hard to make champions gear acquisition similar to battlemaster? Battlemasters already have the advantage of higher level gear, why do they also get the advantage of being able to custom-pick pieces to complete their sets while the rest of us mortals have to run around trying to compete in half pvp and half pve gear? All because we got 10 bracers, 5 belts, 3 mainhands, 4 offhands, 6 relics and still no helm, boots, earpiece and just one implant? I've been in games where a premade group of battlemasters will run around without their chestpiece or pants and "naked-farm" people. Because they get to pick their pieces, even by removing 2 pieces entirely, they still have 12 pieces of pvp gear on... Oh, and off topic, "awesome" fix of ilum btw. Standing around outside republic base waiting to be the one gripped inside and instagibbed by turret while republic refuses to leave their base even if they outnumber us 2:1 is so much fun..."really"! To sum up, your whole pvp system is a joke and whoever designed it should not just be fired, but also blacklisted from every mmo dev-team...ever!
  6. So I'm just wondering BW, are you ever going to adress this issue? Whoever was in charge of making up a pvp loot system in the first place clearly suffers from a massive intellect deficiency syndrome, so the question stands, are you going to fix it? I wouldn't call myself a hardcore pvp'er, I do my dailies and a few extra games when I feel like it. Even so, it does irritate me when I open 10 bags in a row and get nothing but centurion commendations. Or if I'm lucky, a double. What irritates me even more is seeing the lucky people that run around in full champion's gear at valor rank 20 or so while I'm valor rank 52 and still missing several pieces. Where's the effort <-> reward balance? Seeing as how you took the safe route in so many aspects making copies of WoW-systems, couldn't you simply have done a play on the original WoW honor system instead of this garbage? Higher rank unlocks better gear to be bought fairly cheap with the regular ingame currency? Simple, effective, clean...
  7. Valor gained from turrets needs to be removed, non-sploiters shouldn't get punished for others mistakes though (talking about BW-devs and sploiters).
  8. If they are able to sort out valor gained from killing turrets...go for it. Those of us that spent all afternoon to complete daily+weekly quest, cause we're not a ranged aoe'er and didn't farm turrets shouldn't get punished for dev's mess-up or sploiters being sploiters though. Because no, I wouldn't say 3 valor ranks in an entire afternoon of non stop pvp is that op, and yes, my time is valuable to me. If BW wants my valor back, they should give me like a month of free gaming time, minimum.
  9. While I do sympathize about the whole turret bug and agree it needs to be dealt with, I do have one piece of input. This has not been occuring on every server. Yes, while I was in Ilum we farmed the rep's pretty good at the entrance to their base, but during the entire day while I was there (from servers coming back up to a few mins ago) as far as I've seen only one single turret has been killed. Now, with what you're asking for, complete valor reset for the day if I understand you correctly, those of us who haven't been exploiting are to be punished for a.) dev's mistakes and b.) other ppl's exploiting? Try being a melee class in there, and see how much you like trying to even complete the daily, whichever side you're on...and imagine it being taken away? If BW were to take away what I've spent all afternoon on, I'd be expecting like, at least a month of free gametime in return. And no, I'm not an instant valor rank 100, I gained a "massive" total of 3 ranks (47-50) in a full afternoons gaming. There are probably many ranged AoE rep's that gained that many times over.
  10. Now you're talking dps juggs, I'm talking tank juggs, who can just barely get the 2.5k in one hit medal if crushing blow crits. And that is in good gear mind you. Tanking juggs only strength is survivability, and if operatives can take them down in 5 seconds operatives are clearly OP, as tank juggers have about the best survivability ingame
  11. Stealth 'n stab specced operatives...by far. While all classes to some extent are copied fairly straight off from WoW with new names on abilities and such (sry to say it BW, but you know it's true) instead of doing the same for operatives they mixed rogue abilities together, creating super-rogues with ambush and cheap shot in one attack. I'm a fairly well geared jugger tank (17.5k hp unbuffed and 8% expertise in pvp gear) and I can barely make a dent in them before I'm dead to the insane dmg and stunlock. Now, as a jugg, I think everyone would agree I haven't exactly gotten any dev-love when it comes to damage output (unless I wanna spec smash-spam AoE), my one strong point is my survivability. If that survivability can't keep me up more than 5-10 seconds tops in a 1v1 fight, it's quite clear that either I'm underpowered or the opponant is overpowered. Every other class is pretty much a cointoss based on skill and gear in a 1v1, but ops is just "ok, get it over with so I can rez and go find someone that's any fun to fight".
  12. I think most people would agree that as it is, the MVP has little to no reflection on actual performance in the game. Teams that joined as a group take turns voting for eachother. Being a healer automatically gets you half the votes, whether you healed 400k or 75k. There is nothing to show people if you were the one that did all the scores or killed every ball carrier in a whole huttball game, if you single handedly capped that last turret that made a win possible in Alderaan, or if you placed every single bomb in Voidstar or slowed the enemy team every time allowing someone else to do it. So, without removing the system entirely, which would be one way of dealing with the problem, how to fix it? Well, my suggestion is quite simple, make people vote for the opposing teams MVP instead. No more friend voting of that lvl 10 that did 1k dmg and died 50 times in one game and so on. Votes would actually reflect performance and contribution to how well a team fared in the game. Now, I guess some /ragequit type people would just refuse to vote, especially if they lost the game. Simple fix for that, no leaving the game until you voted. Let the QQ'ers who can't respect and honor the opposing teams efforts vote or sit there until they rot. Anyways, just my 2 creds...
  13. QTF! Something needs to be done about waiting times to get into the game tbh. Stop letting ppl that don't already have a char on those servers start playing on them, and increase server cap so that every account with a char on the server can be online at once, or close to it. I mean sure, it was fine on the first few days when I called in "sick" and logged on in the morning and stayed on until I went to bed...but all good things must come to an end, and having hundreds of ppl in queue at 16-17:00 or so even before the official launch is a bad sign for things to come. Or, implement free character transfers to less populated servers...I pay to play, so let me!
