  1. ok. I've seen some topics where people said "arena is bad" or "arena is good" etc etc. Here i wanted to give you a wide explanation of my point of view. So why arena? Why not a warzone as an end game pvp system? Let's go to the basics. Why do you play RPG? You play to get better. Better what? First, you level up, you get all the abilities at last and become what? Obviously stronger than you have been at level 1. When you are max level what do you do? You become better! How? Gear. And when you get all the possible gear? Than what do you do? What is the point in playing? Fun? Well, I have played MMOs for 6 years and I do not know ANYONE who would enjoy playing warzones (or any equivalent in other games) when they do not benefit from them. Whats more, and whats is even more important, even a guy who is terribly bad at PvP combat can get the end game pvp gear. So when everything is achieved there is no point in playing warzones. No point at all. And warzones is the place where, idk, 95% of the pvpers spend their time? That means PvPers will have nothing worthy to do in the game after they have everything they can get from the WZs. That means no more no less but "the end" for thier pvp story. Yes, they may play once a month, but they will be bored pretty fast. What to do? So there are two possible solutions: rated warzones or arena. Why? If there is a ladder, one will want to see himself/herself on top of it. That is how human brain works, it is not my sole opinion. There is a competition, a challenge, one will want to overcome. You remember those words "if it does not kill me, it makes me stronger". And the tougher the challenge, the stronger you must be to overcome it. To be in the world's best warzome team/arena team is an achievement that is almost impossible to get. Giving rated warzomes/arena to the players is giving them the challenges, the goals that could be achieved. You give them an aim, a motivation to play the game in order to develop their PvP skills. (Get Better, as it was mentioned before, whitch is the main idea of an RPG) Note: if you get the gear for rated warzones/arenas (with a rating requirement to purcase it ofc, if there will be no raiting restriction, people will casualy play on low raiting and will be satisfied with the end game pvp gear and we get back to the issue mentioned in the 2-d passage) people are motivated to improve their skills in order to get this end game gear. So why arenas? First, for rated warzones you need a lot of people. And for high ratings you need exeptional players. Getting those (remeber, setup must be suitable! not 8 Guardians) may be a big pain. Whats more, rated warzones and arenas are different. The mecanics. Rated warzones require cooperation, tactics and individual skill. While arena require pure skill and co-op. Arena is the best test of those features, not the rated WZs. In WZs they are essential, yes, but they are far not the only ones a team needs to win. SO! To sum up, there you go: 1) arenas motivate players to develop the skills in order to..get better! (i.e. get the gear if there is a raiting requirenment or get a fancy title when you reach rank 1 in the ladder) 2) arena is a testament of skill. You will spend a LOT of time playing same minimaps all over again because it is not a minigame itslef, it is a battle of player's skills. The more you play, the better you get, and when you do, so raiting rises and you get more challenging battles, then never get boring because of the intense atmosphere, where a mere second can cost you your life. 3) arena expands the PvP aspect unbelievably.
