  1. Would it be impossible to have 4 servers? PvP PvE RP-PvP RP-PvE
  2. While I agree that having a shardless SWTOR is probably close to impossible, shrinking the number of servers they have now to anywhere between 4-10 is a must. They have to acknowledge this and stop saying that their game has a healthy pop and therefor a server merge is not necessary. The game DOES have a healthy pop, but its spread too thin over too many shards. I know things like player names and legacy names being duplicated would be a problem, just give the players the option to either change these, or just have some duplicates running around. Would it be that big of a deal to have 2 Obee of the Whaan legacy running around on the same server?
  3. Good *********** points. I applaud bioware for introducing such engaging story elements to the MMO genre, as well as incredible voice acting. BUT, this game is extremely bare bones. I used to buy into the notion that we have to give MMO developers time in order to flesh out their creation and create a real backbone to their endgame content. I call ******** to that. They have had 15+ years of reference materials to study up on MMO components, and things that they could revolutionize. Other than the story elements, they have failed in being a standout product in the genre. I want to LOVE this game! Don't force your loyal bioware followers to jump ship so *********** early in SWTOR's lifespan!
  4. I've been playing TERA, and they have an extremely limited amount of servers, and the communities (while slightly obnoxious) are thriving!
  5. I dont think having only 5 servers at the MAX would be out of the question.
  6. I completely understand that there are countless technical hurdles that stand in the way of my dream of a shardless SWTOR, but this is how Bioware needs to start thinking in order to get their player base back. I'm worried that their stubbornness and unwillingness to have some sort of server merge will damn this game to be a F2P, micro transaction mess. I understand that player and legacy name duplicates would be an issue, but in this day and age, there is a way to solve almost every technical problem.
  7. With all my griping, I *********** LOVE this game. It has so much goddamned potential, just being pissed away because Bioware is being stubborn.
  8. Why must they insist that their game has a healthy player base, when it is clear that is is spread apart on too many servers? Why are they releasing content that should have been at launch? Honestly, they are saying that multi-specs MIGHT make an appearance this year? There is no guild leveling system? They say that their LFG system will be server based, and not cross-server based? How the **** can they think that will work, when 90% of the servers have a light population. And I know what you are thinking, most of the servers say "standard" population, but that is complete *********. My server is considered a standard pop server, but its a barren *********** wasteland.
  9. I agree that blizzard has had years of experience, but hasn't bioware *********** paid attention to any of the developments WoW has made? Have they not learned from the countless MMORPG's that have been released since Ultima Online? It really seems like they have been in some vacuum for the past 15 years.
  10. If they think they can Charge me to transfer all my characters to the Fatman server, my sub is cancelled.
  11. I think it's totally ********* that they say they aren't even CONSIDERING server merges because they have a "healthy" game. Everyone I've ever talked to that plays the game says their server is dead. Podcasts about SWTOR are saying the same thing. Ive talked to people from at least 7 different servers, and they are all in the same boat. Bioware: Be *********** humble and admit you were wrong, and give us some sort of message saying you are going to fix this. Character transfers are going to make things WORSE. Then you will have servers that are COMPLETELY dead, and 1 or two servers that have a reasonable population. Make 1 Global server, or at least make 1 PvP, one PvE, and one RP, and be DONE WITH It.
  12. I'm not interested in transfering to another server. I don't want to have to go through a painful ordeal of getting people from my guild to all "pay" to go to a populated server. I want my entire legacy to go through, every single character . Don't make a single character transfer system, where we will have to pay real world money in order to fix Bioware's mistake of creating too many servers.
  13. Would it really be that difficult to have a serverless MMO? A lot of my buddies Unsubbed because of a lack of community interaction on our server. In the year 2012, it seems like a MMO with one global server, with one thriving community could be accomplished. I love SWTOR with all my heart, but its becoming increasingly harder to play every time I sign on. I don't want to cancel my subscription, because I believe Bioware could be an amazing MMO developer. Stop taking queues from other MMO's , and start being ORIGINAL bioware; fully voiced NPC's and story elements arent enough.
  14. Being in an active server community, with a bustling economy and player base is not what I would call being "in the middle of a crowd." Being able to always find other players that have common goals as you is an essential part of a successful MMO. Its a MASSIVELY multiplayer online game, not a singleplayer experience, after all.
  15. I honestly think they should just combine servers. They have way too many servers at this point, pretty much just to alleviate all the problems they had at launch. Just half the number of servers they have now, and combine the low pops with eachother
