  1. Not really. I suppose in the spoon fed MMO world that has evolved where somebody with no idea what they are doing can copy what is on the web - having every aspect of a new game spelled out to eliminate having to actually "play" the game, is expected. Sure, this saves time, because then those same people will complain they are max level and want more end story content because they only did the "good" quests the web told them to do and didn't have to experiment with abilities because they picked the best one so why is Bio so far behind their needs? Lame. I find it kind of nice that SWTOR actually encourages people to "play" the game and actually learn how to build their character to be a refreshing change. To not have all the "best builds" already out there is both a pain (because to be honest, I like to compare what people say too) and a great way to keep me from surfing the web and instead playing (or typing on the forum during my 5 minute que time like now). In the end, it's nice not everything is done for us already - it encourages game play. But to say it's required, well, that's just a request by someone who doesn't have or want to spend the time themselves doing it - and that isn't required, just a nice option that as stated, will be fulfilled very quickly.
  2. You are a bio engineer and know this for a fact? You read this somewhere from an engineer and can reference it? or you are guessing, in a vain attempt to look like you know something when actually you are making an educated guess. Personally, I hope you are right, but it is this kind of blatant misleading information that would make someone join their friends on a full server (because who wants to leave their level 30 to start over?), only to find out that there were no caps later on and they just screwed themselves into the future. Personally, I'd like a bioware answer, but haven't seen anything.
  3. I think if bio allowed transfers between the 1st & 2nd week to balance loads, that would be fine and would look good to the community as a "community first money second" appearance. If bio wants to limit it to only "very heavy" and "Full" servers moving to "light" that would make sense too. After that, they can charge money like all other MMO's. But I have to say I am upset that guilds were moved into servers that are now full, and so now I have a 15-20 min wait to play (which actually turns into 30-40) and it's just now opening game day. Friends starting today because they went to Gamestop and couldn't get in until today now have to wait yet another 40 minutes on their day off just to play with their guilds location! These people already got screwed and lost pre-play, and now have to wait again? I was really hopeful that the server loads would open more, so full servers would just be heavy, but I guess they didn't think that far in advance - and full now is full NOW and into the future. That is just sad.
  4. Once you add a crystal to matrix cubes, they can be used to add a status boost to your equipment. You can get shards from datacroms, and then combine them to make a Matrix Cube. Then, depending on which crystal you add determines what kind of status boost they can give your equipment. So the assembler must be what can be used to "combine" shards to create a full Matrix cube - just a guess on that to be honest.
  5. I just have to say, the players I grouped with today were just great. It's always nice when people actually help others who are new - as I witnessed more than once. And that's the Sith side...I can't imagine how cool the jedi are acting! Now, if only I could call in sick another day....
  6. Nobody was hurt, even the perp, so a good laugh can be had by all. Thanks for sharing!
  7. So...if i understand this correctly. Nobody would be angry if they had been told 6 months ago that if they bought the game earlier as opposed to later, they might get in a day or 2 earlier than the reported 5? And now, people want a time-table of exactly when the date cut-offs will be so they know if they should do something else or spend all day hitting "refresh" on the email? I can see where both those items would be beneficial. But on the flip side, if things went badly, nobody would have gotten the extra 2 early days and people would have complained about loosing extra free time. And if things go well and the schedule moves up, and people weren't slapping the refresh key and missed it because they thought they had another day to wait, they would complain about missing that extra free time too. Glad I'm not a game developer!
  8. Um...I've seen a number of replies with people complaining about not being able to play 5-days early as promised....The game comes out on the 20th...so that means if you get in by the 15th, you will be 5-days early. Today is the 13th, at least in this continuum. So take a deep breath and relax, you haven't even reached the game early launch yet. These people getting in today? Just incredibly lucky and getting a bonus for being the first people to buy/register the game. For those saying other games had smoother startups, wait until the 15th when everyone should be able to pre-play and begin comparing then; that is the startup. This is the pre-pre-startup, or the double secret preliminary startup, whichever you prefer
  9. Bought early, forgot to enter code. So all you early players, make sure and get the kinks out of the server before I get on later this week! And for those wondering when the last batch will go out today, you should watch the tweet page, it updates a lot faster than the forums - although they do seem to add 2 pages a second!
