  1. Gave up my vanguard too. Backed to my commando who is ridiculous pvper btw but i simply can't play 10m anymore. Yes, mostly we fought 5m+ before but i had all the chances to deal damage at distance too, now i don't and that sux. The worst thing is that cryonade is 10m too now and even for commandos too! Devs make me cry.

Yeah, I considered rerolling to a Commando but aren't most of the abilities channeled? I always liked the amount of instant casts that the Vanguard had. Mobile long range with super nice melee abilities was fun. Still debating on what to do for my ranged DPS class.

  2. If you played Assault as a mid to long range class before, you were a baddy. You're still a baddy now, it's just more obvious.

Assault spec is still the best single target burst DPS in the game, bar none. Deal with it.

Right. Because being 1 or 2 in damage in LvL 50 PVP every match with just BM gear is a baddy. Don't hate because you aren't innovative enough to rock a spec that is less used and still be an utter bad***** with it.

  3. Ok, first of all, this will not be a "WHY DID YOU NERF ME?!" QQ fest. I understand that if an ability is deemed to be too powerful, it is only logical to lessen the amount of damage that it does. When the ability is cut too far, people complain it was "nerfed". Nerfing is a common practice and necessary evil for developers to balance the classes. As I usually say, learn to play your class and give it time. Most nerfs are overblown.

HOWEVER! What happened to the Assault Spec Vanguard DPS was not a nerf. It was a total rewriting of the way the class plays.

When spec'd properly in the past (Assault Spec), the Vanguard DPS was a completely viable MID TO LONG RANGE class. And yes, for the record, it was the only way to spec a Vanguard if you wanted to play it that way. The other specs kept you strictly 10m or less. However, Incendiary Round, Plastique Explosive, and Sticky Grenade were all instant cast 30m abilities and the Assault Spec also buffed your Hammer Shot & Full Auto. For those who think it was an OP spec, keep in mind that the Vanguard Assault Spec was still a glass cannon. Even if you disagree with that last statement, you could have simply LESSENED THE DAMAGE OF THE ABILITY! Not rewrite the way the spec plays. Why change the behavior of the ability? Nerf me, fine - but do NOT change the total role of the spec...

I rolled this class and spent countless hours on it because I wanted a PvP Class capable of doing damage from afar that would be rare (not a Sage, Gunslinger, or Commando). I also liked the fact it had better mobility than those classes (i.e. less channeled abilities). I've played a lot of MMOs and I've never had a class's role (under a specific spec, granted) be completely changed :(. They basically threw away what was my favorite character. It doesn't even fill the ranged role anymore. It's truly mind blowing to me...

    SUMMARY

The spec was a mid to long range DPS. Now it's pretty much melee.

  4. Force Induction

We are seeking smaller and medium sized guilds that are having trouble surviving alone. We offer favorable terms and prominent positions for your GMs & Officers. Many guilds have disbanded in recent months but there's no reason for you to break off in separate directions. Keep your core group together and join us. We will even allow you to keep half of your women ;). We support weekly Ops, Guild PvP, Ventrilo, Guild Bank, & a website. Please reply in this thread, in a PM, or in game to discuss your situation and how we might relieve your burden while finding a workable solution for us all as we expand our reach on the server.

    Benefits of Merging:

    • Maintain your prominent position without the stress of having to be a 'one man band.'

    • Instant respect and perks as a former guild that has merged into a growing, winning atmosphere

    • Active, Experienced Guild Leadership who know how to sustain a successful guild

    • Organized Rank Structure where loyalty is rewarded

    • Guild Bank with appropriate access dependent upon rank

    • Ventrilo available 24/7 for game or personal use to guild members

    • Growing active website with Guild News & valuable "How To" Information

    Our Operation Atmosphere:

While we stand by the claim that we are a 'casual' raiding guild, we encourage our members to focus on being successful in Operations. People in the guild who fail to improve will NOT be booted from the guild or anything silly like that. However, in an effort to have an enjoyable successful experience, people who are dedicated to improving their skill will be chosen to participate over those who aren't. There is no reason we should make the same mistakes 3 times in a row.

    PvP:

We have some skilled PvPers but we are always looking for more so we can start building consistent ranked PvP Teams. We have an entire forum dedicated to it's discussion on our website.

You can always check out our full recruitment thread here ---> http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=534220

  5. People doing the whole movie "Insert Jawa Reference here" can be a little annoying at times but it's a lot better than some of the racist, hateful, vulgar, stuff I got used to seeing in Trade chat in WoW. Also, there is so much inane chatter on our general chat these days that I'm not bothered by a silly Jawa game.

My point is perhaps we should lighten up a little. General chat has tons of ridiculous chat - why focus on the Jawa movie reference? I don't think people who get a little kick out of those jokes are as "dim witted" as some of the "mature" people I see in PvP who have no idea what they are doing and get offended when you try to help them.

  7. Just because people purchased the game in dec does not mean they have not been waiting for it as long.

This whole early access staggering is akin to paying for movie tickets online but the theatre only letting in the people who purchased the tickets a day earlier for the best seats.

    Word.
