  1. I totally agree... the fact that it already isn't like this is pretty stupid. I don't even care about the surnames... according to BW, legacy will be important in the future and will grant benefits. Lets say I want a pve and a pvp character, zero benefits for me. What if I want to group up with my friends on another server? No benefits. The legacy system is a cool idea in theory, but it was terribly implemented.
  2. I have two characters... one is a lvl 28 Jedi Guardian and the other is a lvl 20 Bounty Hunter. These characters are on different servers (the BH is on a pvp servers and the JG is on a pve server)... I've just started getting legacy on my Jedi Guardian and the mysterious unannounced benefits of the legacy have me worried. BioWare has been making the legacy system seem like quite a big deal, saying how they want to expand on it in several interviews... they once even compared it to a New Game + system found in Single-player RPG's. Since the system is on a server to server basis (which was a terrible decision by BioWare... seriously, what were they thinking?) I've been thinking about re-rolling my BH on the same server as my Jedi Guardian. What do you guys think would be the best move?
  3. Right now the only thing the Legacy System gives you is surnames... but Bioware has stated that they will grant you benefits in the future. If we at least knew what these Legacy points were being used for then we could decide if we want to have all our characters on one server or not. Keeping us in the dark is a bad idea... especially with tons of people switching servers due to queues, people are bound to have to character on multiple servers. It's honestly a sad mistake on an otherwise great game.
  4. I'm on a PvE server... so I don't see how I can make a PvP character on a PvE server... unless you mean making a character just for warzones, which is not what I'm talking about. This also ties into what I was saying about grouping up with friends. I want to group with my brother, but he is on a different server... I wouldn't normally mind making new character to group up with him., but if I do I'll lose any "benefits".
  5. If I decide to make make a PvE character and want to make another character on PvP server... I can't. The Legacy System essentially forces you to stay on a single server or you'll lose "benefits". What if I want to group up with a friend and he's on a different server? I'd normally make a character on his server, but now I can't because it will just be wasted progress. I don't care about the surnames, but it looks like Bioware will make the Legacy System crucial, they even compared to a New-Game + in Single-Player games. The Legacy System was a good idea that went very wrong... they should have tied it to your account, not a server.
  6. Any idea what benefits the legacy system will add? I'd be playing right now, but I'm still waiting to see what server my brother's guild is on, and I since all your characters have to be on one server (which makes no sense) I can't play the game tonight unless I want to re-do it all tomorrow.
  7. Is it only for characters on the same server (what if I want my main to be a PvE character and my alt to be PvP) or will it be tied to your account? Any ideas what benefits it will give us in the future? I was planning on having all my Republic classes on one server and all my Empire classes on another (gonna join my brother's guild for my Empire classes).
  8. Anyone know what the Legacy system will give us? I'd hate to have to re-roll my character, but if it gives me long term benefits I will.
  9. Hi, I'm planning on making a Bounty Hunter and joining my brother and his guild, but do not know what server they'll be on, so I decided to make a Jedi Knight in the meantime. I now see that having characters isn't a good idea because of the Legacy system. Does anyone know if there will be the ability to change servers? If not, is the Legacy system going to have significant benefits (other than surnames and stuff)?
