  1. The moderation and customer service in this game is HORRID. I have a group/guild of over 15 players who have all had issues within the game. Major bugs/issues that have yet to be addressed or resolved in any shape or form. The automated responses to the petitions is unacceptable. In almost every case the automated response isn't even related to the issue or question. "The customer service being recieved by members of our guild is unacceptable for a paid service such as this game..." Response: "Thank you for contacting Droid XYZ, I have forwarded your report to the department in question..." All of us have removed our subs and will not be playing beyond the 30 free days. I hope many others follow.
  2. If they're exploiting a BUG in the game, they should be banned. The bug should be FIXED, and it will no longer be an issue ever again. If they're banning people, but not fixing or removing the thing they banned for, that is unacceptable. The only RULES in an MMO should be those enforced by the game code. If you do not want higher level characters killing lower level characters, do not make it possible. If you do not want low level characters farming chests, do not make it possible. I assume an account camped low level characters at each chest and would log them in exactly at the respawn time. If this is the case, make the respawn random? Spawn a monster near the chest to defend it? Fake rules that are enforced by customer service staff and not development and game code are the worst idea ever. There is a profanity filter for a reason, a spam filter, and other filters. There is an IGNORE feature. If some idiot wants to use profanity in chat and spam you... you have the tools to resolve it yourself. Customer service should not be involved in it at all.
  3. 5) Companions - Who should I use? This depends on your play style (I know, everyone says that...) and your spec. Personally, I find Aric Jorgan to be the best dps. Being ranged, he can instantly switch targets and start doing damage. Yuun isn't bad either, but he has to run around at times which can be bad. Elara Dorne is great for any DPS commando, she'll heal you while you unload death. I found running around with her was much faster and easier than using any of the other companions. However, as a heal spec commando, you'll likely want one of the DPS so you can actually kill stuff! 4x and Vik are, bad. Neither of them can take a hit, while they hold threat well, you'll spend most of the fight trying to keep them alive. You're better off using Dorne to heal yourself and tank everything. If you MUST use one of the two tank companions, Vik is much better in most situations. He jumps into battle and does all of his AOE's to hold threat very quickly. 4x is pretty stupid and will blow his AOE taunt abilities vs a single guy. This requires you to manually manage his abilities on top of keeping him alive.
  4. I'm a 50 command, 4pc set bonus, Hard Modes are all on farm. I'd like to share a few tips and tricks i've learned along the way to help get some people who might be struggling on the right track! Feel free to flame and tell me i'm wrong all you want! 1) Gear - Where/how to get it Ilum and Belsavis daily quests. You have several solo daily quests and 3 group daily quests on each of these planets for level 50 players. The group daily quests reward 3 epic level 50 mods. This means each day you can fully gear out 1 equipment slot on yourself, and eventually start gearing out companions. You also gain Daily Commendations which can be used to buy level 51 weapon mods, armor mods, and very nice ear/implant items. Do these EVERY day you can! Once you have full set, you're ready for Hard Modes! Each class has multiple SETS of gear which provide set bonuses. These can be earned from token drops within Hard Modes, or purchased with Daily (and Hard Mode instance completion) tokens. Unfortunately you'll likely get TONS of the tokens that drop off each boss, these are just about useless as every item i've seen requires the tokens which are from the daily rewards and last boss of each Hard Mode. 2) Crafting - What should you pick? Biochem. Hands down, without a question, this is the most broken and overpowered profession in the game. Once you complete a few Hard Modes, you can craft a self heal (only 90s cooldown) that is bigger than any heal in the game. You can craft a self buff to your primary stat that is MASSIVE, can be used as often as you want, lasts for 2 hours, and stays after death. You can craft a HUGE 15s short duration buff for yourself in surge, crit, tech/force, and other stats. NOTE: These are BoP so you must be a Biochem to make them, however they do NOT require Biochem to use them. So you can craft them, drop Biochem and pickup another profession of your choice. Every player should start Biochem, or switch to Biochem and craft these amazing items. 3) Hard Modes - These are HARD?!?! Yes, they are somewhat harder than normal instances. Each instance has on average 2 "strategy" check bosses that will require a lot of work to drop. Once you down these bosses, the remaining are very easy free loot. I notice a lot of players having troulbe with one of these bosses and get the impression the entire instance is going to be that difficult. This is not the case. Figure out how to down that one difficult boss and it's very likely you'll kill the next 2-3 on your first attempt for the free drops! NOTE: Many bosses are either not itemized, or don't drop anything at all. These are generally the easier mini-boss style encounters (but some really easy bosses do have loot). 4) Finding a group - How the heck do you do it? Well, Bioware and others have decided social gaming is bad! Yes, lots of you might be against an automated looking for group system. But currently, the only PROVIDED option is to sit in Fleet and spam the general channel. Or find a Guild, but what if that guild is with friends and they aren't online? Solution! My server, and others I hope, have a GLOBAL channel created for all level 50's to join. This is done by typing "/cjoin channelname" . If it hasn't already been done, create a global channel and spam invites to every level 50 you see! It works great. Within a day or two of this global channel being created we had 3-4 groups of people running Hard Modes constantly! Daily groups are easy to find now!
  5. First, i'm 400 Cyber with lots of top level purple ears. All ship/droid epics and many of the epic mods. I've come to realize (for a while now) that cyber is nearly useless. The mods are a joke, you can gett the same level mods for free from daily missions. You can purchase BETTER, YES BETTER, mods from daily missions. Ship upgrades are OK, but space combat is so limited and provides no bonus outside of.... space combat. Droid upgrades are flat out terrible, you're better off with a moddable orange loaded with higher level stats. As best I can tell we have 2 gadgets, mounts, which aren't anything special, they don't stand out. THE WORST of the whole deal, the grenades! 5 minute timer, really? And I don't believe you get any BoP items that no other person/profession can have (outside of the grenades). Lets look at Biochem. You get BoP implants which are pretty amazing. You get an hour long massive self buff that can be reused over and over. You get a massive unlimited heal item. And you get the standard sellable items to other players (which i'm sure better can be found elsewhere).
  6. This fight is stupid broken with how servers are currently. We have several videos of our group mates moving out of the lightning, plenty of time on THEIR screen, and POOF dead... A few notes: Two of us have 20ish MS ping. This is a server side problem, not a slow connection. All of us run 40+ FPS at all times... :EDIT: And before the trolling, yes we've killed him several times. But it's down to luck and RNG. Doesn't matter how well we know the fight, ppl just get nearly 1 shot randomly.
  7. I believe I was reading the 1.01 patch notes last night (might not be real as they weren't posted on this site). However I see no mention of the crashing issues being resolved. Most if not everyone in my groups get dropped from the game (Crash to desktop) when trying to leave FlashPoints. Several of us commonly Blue Screen. I have not seen a Blue Screen in windows 7 since the fan in my laptop died and everything overheated. I'm sorry to say but, RIFT on max settings, WoW on max settings, Skyrim on max settings (well almost), and countless other games on this machine have never once Blue screened. I would really like to see a solution to the CTD (Crash to Desktop) and bluescreens. They seem most common while grouping and/or in flashpoints. We almost come to expect getting dropped from the server and game after finishing a FP.
  8. Codex says: Loathsome - "You recieved this title by reaching Dark Side Tier Four." Where is the title for Five (5) or V... this thread and title appear to be from 4 or IV
  9. 50 levels and the game hasn't crashed once. Now, after what I assume is a latest mini-patch? I've crashed out 4x today already. Each time i'm stuck back at the end of queue. Anyone who was already in game, should have at least a 1-2 minute grace period to reconnect and skip the queue. This is how it has been done in countless other games which needed Queue's for servers. Please, fix this. Yes, we would like the crashing fixed but at least allow us to jump back into the game w/o waiting upwards of 2+ hours each time the game fails. And no, it's not my PC. I've tried it on 3 different machines. Core2Duo 570 i7 Mobile 260 Core2Duo 8800 GT Each of those 3 machines above have crashed today. Again, never once crashed during 50 levels of gameplay till today.
  10. Seems somewhat difficult to find a decent guild on any given server. No Server forums. No global chat. The best and only real way I can see is to sit in fleet and spam for guilds (or watch for spam) and/or spam for instances and hope you meet up with a group of guildies who are looking for more. I know lots of complained about no servers forums, I guess thats all we can hope for eventually =(
  11. Dead and gone forever. Bad choice bro! *SPOILER* - Nothing you can do in this game matters. In the end you'll be the same trooper as everyone else sadly =(
  12. :SPOILER ALERT: Just finished Gauntlet, pretty close to end of story I think? Aric Jorgan got hurt and was unavailable to use as a companion. During this time I couldn't send anyone other than C2-N2 out on missions (understandable). I've since gotten Aric Jorgan back, and I can still only send C2-N2 out on missions? What gives, I have 4 available slots and only 1 can do missions now? Anyone know if/when this will go back to normal? Would be nice if game told you why you couldn't send people out... I can have them all craft which is what really confuses me. Missions are limited to 1, however crafting can be loaded up on all 4 it seems.
  13. Crash to desktop = *********** queue... awesome. Not mention it required a full restart as it kept saying "only one instance of this..." and I could not find anything in task manager on any of the tabs that looked SWTOR related... No queue priority for people who have been playing? I'm pretty sure I'd do something hurtful to first bioware network developer I saw who was involved in the queue/server design... I can only imagine logging in, playing for a few minutes, having the game crash, and being stuck back in a 2 hour queue.... Like every other game with queue's i've played (WoW / RIFT most recently) if you were playing within last few minutes you'll get right back on server...
