  1. So basically once the Fatman is full - all the rest of us on PVP East Coast servers that haven't been transferred yet are stuck with the leftovers? I understand that this process is being handled slowly, but unfortunately when the first server transfers are going to the largest population servers, it only makes me question what the final goal is - especially with all the lack of information about the overall plan. I am really beginning to question if you guys even have a long term plan - outside the future game updates.
  2. Something else to keep in mind - there are two processes running at al times for SWTOR and even though a single threaded process will only use one core at a time, two single threaded processes and of course other processes you are running at the same time, would benefit from multiple cores. As far as ram, from all the tests that I have run (I have 12 GB of ram and have changed it down to 4GB to test for a friend) the game uses about 6 GB without anything else running. Your best bet is to go with the 16GB suggested and a 64-bit OS.
  3. So, having BW tell you where everything is located is doing it yourself? I, like many others, are glad that BW, rather than spoon feeding people, made those that didn't want to work on it, do one of the following: a). Find it on the internet b). Ask in chat/guild/friends or c). For those too lazy to do either of those options, come here and QQ about it on the forums. As far as attacking your spelling, I wasn't attacking the spelling - only that I felt by looking at your spelling you weren't native English speaking. If that is not the case, I apologize. It wasn't meant as an attack on you but the person that made the generalization about it being "americanish"
  4. Ummm, I am fully aware that you weren't the one who wrote that (you simply quoted it). I wasn't (notice the spelling) pointing fingers at you for the statement, but questioning it's merits as I don't think you are a native English speaker.
  5. Starcheif, The WHOLE purpose of this event was to explore. In order to get one of the pets and a part of the codex for the title, you have to find 12 ship parts spread all over Tat. I could have googled it to find their locations (I didn't) , and when I first got the quest, I opened my map and when I didn't see them marked on it thought "wow - people are going to whine about this". I mean - how dare they require that you actually explore to find the quest area and 12 parts not on the map? And to the comment that this is "so americanish", with the horrible use of English and spelling by StarCheif, I can only assume he is under 18 or not native English speaking (I hope)
  6. Unfortunately, if you don't have a 50, you don't (and in my opinion shouldn't) get the free time. The free time is quite simply payment for the fact there is limited to no end-game in SWTOR at the moment. If you don't have a 50, you haven't been affected by this lack of end-game. Unfortunately, this is a case of someone in the marketing department trying to put a positive spin on the situation. BW/EA should have just been honest and said: "We are really sorry our game, at this point in time, offers little for our players that have reached level 50. This list currently includes: broken/laggy PVP, repetitive dailies and heroics that you really can't do because so many servers have very limited populations. Because of this, we want to give you guys that might not want to level another toon a free 30-days to give us a chance to fix some of these things." And for being a valuable customer, everyone gets the pet.
  7. One of the easiest ways to max affection is to run the dailies on Belsavis (lvl 50). Even if you aren't going to use the companion for actual completion of the daily, have them out for the conversation while getting the quest. Every companion is different, but on my BH I was getting 55-155 (depending on the companion) affection per pleasing answer from the conversation. And none of these conversation gain dark/light side points, so you can answer whichever way makes the companion happy. When you turn in the quest, you get the affection gained. For Blizz (who was my #1 affection gainer for this process) I got about 1.5k per day running a complete daily group. My Sorc isn't 50 yet, or I would have good numbers for him.
  8. I agree with this. Bioware simply took their gameplay for KOTR 1&2/Mass Effect and improved it with SWTOR. Unfortunately they missed a lot of the multi player items. I hope they are coming but I tend to doubt they are. At least there are some things that require many people to do (+10 stats datacron for example). Hopefully, they figure out the errors they made for an MMO and add some of those missing elements (combat log, customizable UI, etc).
  9. You mean like taking a game offline because some random says they should? There are issues - not going to fanboi this - but did you play any other MMO when it released? There are always problems. SWTOR has theirs. But to called this game Alpha with all of your examples, is simply a joke. My guess is you bought a 6-month sub, and now regret it. There are things that I would like fixed, and honestly some of the things should have been here with the release, but they weren't. If you don't like the game or can't wait for them to address them then you have the option of leaving the game. But coming with your list of whines and a request to take the game offline is laughable.
  10. I have a fix that most people should try - as all Windows systems ship with this on. It's called Nagle's Algoritm. You can google search it to for instructions on how to turn it off (it will require that you add two elements to your register using regedit) or trust the link I have below. I have yet to have anyone use this and not had an increase in their fps and a decrease in their load times and lag. http://b.snapfizzle.com/2009/09/windows-7-nagles-algorithm-and-gaming/ Although these instructions are for Windows 7, it also works for XP and Vista. Hope this helps some of you anyways
