  1. I too "lost" my Iron fist build to 1.3. Ive since gone to a tactics build and am enjoying it. I shut down sorcerors easily, and can usually kill any other class 1v1 with a combo of dps, cc, and debuffs. Its a fast run and fun setup - I very rarely run low on ammo (the tactics cell regens way more ammo than I can use). Btw it sounds like I am geared about the same as you - 4 combat tech set, minor pieces are eliminator, and a generator, not shield. I'm currently replacing my relics as those got changed in 1.3, then I'll buy a 4 set of the eliminator to see if it enhances the tactics build at all.
  2. Daiddu, Do you know that the majority of peoples attacks in pvp are either tech or force? As such, most attacks are walking right past your high % shield and defense. A lot of the utility fuctions such as debuffing & CC can also be done even if you aren't tank speced. I personally find that I'm of "better use" ,as you said said, stunning or dpsing healers or other dps heavy classes that have week defense. Granted you lose the guard utility, but consider the tactics tree + a dps build for pvp if you are looking to be useful in pvp.
  3. I'm in the same boat...I had 4pc Combat Tech set, and about 50/50 elim/super for the non-set items. Worked great with Iron Fist and now I'm "broken". With the respec that came with the 1.3 patch I speced into Assault(dmg). While I can kill some things pretty quickly, the ammo management is a beech, and I can (and do) get burned down 2x as quick as I can dish it out. I had read "Oh no don't go tactics if you want to do damage..." - I'm interested to hear what others say to your questions too.
  4. This is not my info; I'm only repeating from what I've been told and experienced first-hand. First, google "Taugrim mitigation and defense in pvp". You should find the articles by Taugrim on defense and shieldz in the pvp environment.short, shields & defense block only melee and ranged, NOT tech and force damageassume and most players' damage type is a 50/50 split among the two (varies by class). So, for a base stat, divide your defense/shield chance by 50%. You can then add back in your mitigation to get an accurate number. An example would be my vanguard with shield equiped was 35% chance vs melee & ranged, my mitigation was +9% vs all types. The point is that shields have very limited utility in PvP & you are better off running a generator/focus to gain better damage/crits. Btw this data regarding the damage types is available to everyone via your tool-tips on the character screen.
