  1. Sorry my bad I focused on what your topic was, and what the entire first line in your discussion was just so happened to be

    im sure you understand.org.jpeg.com.

My topic? And you even quote someone who isn't me, not sure if this is just horrible misuse of words or mistaken identity. Also, it was a proven through parsing that Op dps was the 2nd lowest in the game, so it's not like that statement is entirely off.

Edit - To top it off actually

I only submmited the comments in red because this forum is all about finding some mispelled word and saying you obviously need to L2P. I just thought id correct them.
  2. I agree that OPS/Scoundrels need some looking at, I only submmited the comments in red because this forum is all about finding some mispelled word and saying you obviously need to L2P. I just thought id correct them.

I for one believe that ops lack the ability to perform well in most warzones, because of two reasons....the lack of players who are using class types that we perform well against(however I hear that snipers are making a comeback so good news for my scoundrel!!). I would either like to see our ability to hit harder against high armor targets increased, or maybe an ability that helps us mitigate an opponents healing. and he second reason isAs it stands now, the game design overall doesnt support our playstyle. so unless they change the level designs to be more spread out, or somehow make it harder to transition(like the first door in voidstar) we will continue to see our classes usefulness as DPS diminished because a team using vent can transition from one point to another before we can kill most classes, and in hutball.....well lets just say it blows...stealth stuns is about as good as it gets in hutball

For some of the edits you made, you're partially wrong or flat out wrong. You can argue that our defenses work in hit and runs, but so does every defensive cd in the game, however to get full use of our defensive cd's they are not used for hit and run. The only exception to this is when you tie Evasion with Cloaking Screen.

For your DoT edit to his post, one of the DoTs (that when spec'd also snares the target) for pyro is a proc and 100% proc when spec'd into for Flame Burst, so it has the potential to cost them 0 heat, as for which does more dmg? Shrug, I don't care enough to figure that out. Where as ours are a bit energy intensive as they both cost 20 energy (Corrosive Dart and Corrosive Grenade). And facepalm.jpg at you for bringing up Flechette Round in a discussion about Lethality (a.k.a Dirty Fighting) - Edit on a site note, spamming Rapid Shots allows Pyros combustible gas cylinder to bypass some defenses, unlike Rupture from Marauders, crazy huh?

    - Edit 2, I suppose I should really have made a point here with you bringing up Corrosive Microbes and compared the two specs but I wanted to avoid that, but here's the difference between our 12.5%/25% proc and their dots, this is what dot''s do for pyros if spec'd for it: vent 8 heat on rail shot, rail shot refreshes their cylinder dot, cylinder dot snares, increases dmg done by Rapid Shots; Rocket Punch; Rail Shot; Unload; and Flame Sweep, and they get their own version of Devouring Microbes that comes with tech crit chance.

As for Quick Shot / Overload Shot, uh I'll leave that discussion for another time. Because I had to facepalm.jpg at your last note under "Control" that it would just be a waste. Bringing up Jagged Strike / K.O. in a discussion about Lethality..... seriously?

  3. Did I sit through 10 minutes of yet another concealment gank montage to notice the longer clip at the end? Not on the first watch. Now that I've seen it, I don't dispute that OP is a competent concealment op but that doesn't mean that the class isn't currently underpowered. Again, full-length rated matches are the only way to see how concealment stacks up vs. good, geared players.

    This post confirms my fears.

  4. I'd space Mako and keep Skadge. At least Skadge does his job and doesn't whine when a bounty hunter kills someone.

Mako Sue needs to have a flaw written into her character. And no, being a

    clone

isn't exactly a character flaw. Probably one of the blandest characters ever written into a BioWare game.

The part with the bold and underline is actually the problems I have with not just Mako but Torian also.

Mako is supposed to be the biggest BH fan girl in the galaxy and some how has a problem with you occasionally having to kill someone for a contract. Did it never occur to her that this some times happens to be part of the job? And she has no problem with me wiping our entire ships full of people for her revenge, but I kill someone for money "GASP, IS THIS WHAT A BH DOES?!?! NOOOO sniffle sniffle".

For Torian, he hates that I make money off contracts....

when they kidnapped him I was happy and half hoping they'd keep him.

Both Mako and him constantly make me go "why are you on my ship?"

As for Lady of Pain being like Kaliyo, not really, Kaliyo is a liar, doesn't trust others, seeks revenge, and cares about money. Lady of Pain loves... well pain and doesn't care about money, which makes her perfect for the BH. She gets to join you in causing pain while you get all the money. She seems more business oriented too which means - no more whining about aspects of a BH's job - and seriously one of the most memorable characters I've come across in comparison to companions on all my other characters who I care less that they even exist.

Edit (I actually had to look up Torians name because he just doesn't stand out at all)

  5. Not to derail the thread, but I'm curious at this point. Are we the only AC that these threads appear? Seems to come up once a week if not every other in the Operative section. The whole "I stomp 10-49 face, so how could things possibly go downhill at 50?" and it's usually followed up by "it sucks" or "I quit" threads/replies from the same people some time later.
  6. When they finally let us kill companions off, Skadge is the first to die. Worst companion in the game, by far.

I bet you Corso Riggs would be the most killed companion in the game. I even prefer 2V-R8 over him and get irritated when every single conversation option increases affection. The things I wish done to him would be too graphic to type on here.

Edit: I wouldn't be bothered by her trying to place herself higher than my character, anything is better than some of the current companions just making me go "Why are you on my ship?"

  7. You just want to romance her!

Not at all actually, I just find her amusing and it could make for some interesting dialogue. More so than 2 companions who seem to have an odd problem with the fact that your character is a BH and that it consists of making money and occasionally killing someone for that money. In fact I often forget their names because they aren't interesting.

Actually thinking about it I haven't romanced anyone on any of my characters, just wasn't interested (unlike ME/ME2).

Different from Kaliyo too, made apparent for her dislike of money over pain. Like a more playful personality of Scorpio.

Edit: My favorite companion being Scorpio probably explains this pretty well. :jawa_biggrin:

  8. Spec - Concealment (3 Medicine / 31 Concealment / 7 Lethality)

    1. How do you think your Operative spec is perceived by other classes?

PvE (Concealment) - "Waste of a spot", low sustained dps with too much risk for little reward.

PvP (Concealment) - This goes in two ways to extremes, you'll either get the natural hatred for stealth classes you find in every game "unfair, nerf them more" type of attitude or the one from those with more PvP experience, gear, or currently doing rateds at a bit of a higher level, "nuisance, non-factors." Most other classes seem to perceive us as the non-threatening stealth gankers.

    2. How do you perceive your own spec?

PvE (Concealment) - Lacking, sustain dps is a large issue, even with practiced rotations it feels like there's a gap in our attacks, as if we were supposed to have another knife attack or something there, hard to explain. Energy regen is also a problem, I don't mean this to the extreme as I understand the pick and choose system, however when your opening rotation can destroy your energy pool, it's a bit much. There is also the problem with our positional attacks which can be effected by any server issues or problems in game; e.g. the mobs back is pointed at me but I can't use Hidden Strike or Backstab. I perceive it in PvE to be lacking, too much risk for little reward.

PvP (Concealment) - Once again lacking, opening rotation and energy management makes it so you can't be as flexible as the class can be. We provide a decent amount of utility, support and CC, for example; infiltrate, off heals and Pin Down with Sever Tendon. Positional attacks aren't always functional and are lackluster for what it takes to get them off when you weigh in other classes. It also feels as if way too much was tied into us getting into stealth and without the ability to do so with ease, group fights don't really allow this and the occasional combat bug. We also lack field control such as knockbacks, pulls, or gap closers; i.e. charge or sprint. I perceive us as a counter-class with damage and energy problems, I can counter most of what any other class can do, I just don't have the damage or energy to keep up with it.

Too much risk for little reward.

In total I perceive us as the Mordin Solus of this game - "Lots of ways to help people. Sometimes heal patients; sometimes execute dangerous people. Either way helps."
