  1. Just for a point of reference, Ratajack. How many characters have you done the whole list of holocrons for? Not that your answer can be fact checked in any way.
  2. You are right, I did not read the link. So much for the uber-fast space xp grind.
  3. It is Early Access on the 3rd with a full launch well after the New Year. I'm going to guess no.
  4. Unlock the planet's holocron stat boosts when you finish the class storyline for that planet. No need to make it a huge stat bonanza on character creation.
  5. Except legacy Presence bonuses... and Legacy XP bonuses... oh and Legacy Travel perks... and Legacy Ship Upgrades... and Legacy Cartel Items... and (etc).
  6. Isn't it time that Bioware adds Holocrons to the Legacy System? The bonuses are good enough to making getting all the holocrons semi-important, but it is a huge time sink and annoying as hell for players with more than a couple of characters. It is really time for this addition.
  7. I don't understand the business behind a headstart/lockout period in an MMO expansion. We're only a few months out from some serious population issues and we're about to have half of the server population sitting on their hands while the other half cries for tanks and healers... again. I get the short-term cash bump at the end of the year - but did it actually sell more expansions?
  8. Same old OP set up, just different skins. Same old WZ set up, just changed the number of clickies and the duration they need to be held. As for FP's... was TOR really lacking in the sub-50 content?
  9. I was expecting new reasons to spend my money to go along with the new ways in which TOR asks for my money. Expectations not met.
  10. New quitters or old vets taking a look. Does it matter? What does matter is that in the 6 months I've been gone nothing has been added to the actual game.
  11. I. Thou shall not patch on Fridays. II. Thou shall not introduce buggy new content and takest a break before it works. III. Remember the player base by not screwing them. IV. Honor thy contracts. This includes Cartel Coin purchases. V. Thou shall not kill Star Wars yet again. VI. Thou shall not lay with EA. VII. Thou shall not steal gimmick appearance shops from other Online Games and declare it content. VIII. Thou shall not bear false witness about upcoming content. IX. Thou shall not covet WoW's playerbase. X. Thou shall not covet WoW's revenue either.
  12. There have been games over the last 12 years that have held my interest for a year or more at a time. Most of those I've revisited for extended periods as well. It is possible. It also had nothing to do with pay model. The days of buggy and lag ridden 2 or 3 hour raids being acceptable have been over for a long time. TOR is proving that even as we type. I hope that they change more than just the billing style.
  13. The gamers here need to realize something. F2P is for the shareholders, not the community. F2P is not a magic wand that automatically adds more and better content. F2P does not equal interesting and engaging story. F2P does not fix bugs. F2P will not save TOR if EA/Bioware do not overhaul the game's direction and end game content. You know, the stuff that was so boring and redundant that enough of the player base left and EA felt the need to change the pay model 6 months after launch. I hope that they realize F2P won't make people spend money - a good and fun game makes people spend money. Here's to hoping.
  14. You are playing today that which should have been launched back in December. It was rushed and it's bugs, missing content, scrapped pvp system, blind-man-playing-lawn-jarts crafting evolution and lack of community tools are the proof. I realize that no games launch perfectly, but TOR nailed the fail. Many players left after just a few months. Long before the fixes happened. Now the good folks at TOR, Bioware, and EA are telling us the business model is causing failure, not the 7 months of Pay2Beta. Free to Play has nothing to do with game quality, only profits, and please don't buy the BS.
  15. You'll still be able to earn some new stuff through gameplay, we won't know the detais of what will be "purchase only" for some time yet. Every F2P has a fair sized catalog of cash only items/perks. New raids / pvp zones? One every three months. Complete new billing and subscription system? Two months. I sense an imbalance in the profit margain.
  16. F2P isn't an instant win button. A crap game is a crap game no matter how you pay for it.
  17. There are three main F2P models. 1. Pay for content / apperance / character slots (Lord of the Rings circa 2 years ago). 2. Pay for items/perks/boosts only available with $$$ (Evony). 3. Pay for a little bit of everything (Lord of the Rings now, Champions Online, Star Trek Online). The first option is the least profitable and causes few if any imbalances. The second option is the most profitable, imbalances games with pvp, and is a leading cause of rage quits. The thrid option is more profitable than #1, less profitable than #2, and still imbalances pvp. F2P = PvP fail.

    Less for losing

Thank you for reposting the Dev statement Vihehn.

    Less for losing

Okay... 20 comms and 0 credits after a tough fought loss does what? 1. Discourages casual pvp'ers. 2. Creates more fodder for the hard core pvp'ers longer. 3. Removes the challenge for the Hardcores. Steamrolls are fun, but once you are done grinding your gear whats left if ther is no challenge. 4. You can spoon feed the Hardcore players - but you'll lose everyone else Bioware. Winng should be better than losing - but losing should atleast be worth your time.
  20. Bingo. Good stats and they won.
  21. Wait for ranked warzones before patting yourself on the back. It's silly when there are 12.5k health level 50 tank spec'd guardians running around in our warzones. Scrub numbers are up - those who pvp as 50's with their lvl 40 pvp gear still on.
