  1. Hope that helps. :)

Indeed it does, thank you very much!

I put all your numbers into the chart- new tab titled 'ship info'...couldn't think of a better name, if you've got one, i'm all ears.

Thought of two more to possibly add- max hull hp and max turning rate. Do you think those are worthwhile? Not sure if you have the numbers on those, but i don't think they'd be hard to get.

  2. You could do stuff like Max missile breaks/Passive Evasion Max/Passive Damage Reduction Max/Max Evasion with cooldowns up/Max Damage Reduction with cooldowns up/Passive Shield Max .

Those are just some of the ideas I came up with quickly, I can do most of those quickly for ya as I have them memorized. If you just let me know the categories you want to do I can post the numbers.

Hell's, yeah- at that point I really wouldn't be putting a ton more work in- would just be a lot of copy pasting.

Any of the ones you listed you want to throw at me, I shall put in the chart!

  3. That's pretty cool it's nice representation of what each ship has, thanks for making this. :)

Not gonna lie- that basically made my morning. Thank you, Drakko~

I was wondering what the last column "available missile break" was supposed to be though.

No, you were right- I had a few of my numbers wrong. ...not sure how i managed that, but I blame lack of sleep due to starfighter. :p I fixed them, but I'm wondering where the third on blackbolt/novadive comes from? I'm not in-game at the moment, so I can't just go look. But looking at my chart, is it EMP Field? That's the only system ability unique to the blackbolt/novadive. An ability I've rarely used, and don't think I've ever mastered, so...that would make sense.

Still, I updated the numbers, so it should be correct now. Let me know if you notice anything else that's erroneous.

Why isn't it called "max missile breaks" or something?

I considered titling that column 'Max Missile Breaks or something' just for you. :p It is renamed to 'max' now though. ;)

Other things could be "peak damage reduction" and "peak evasion".

Should I add those? I easily could. To clarify- you mean peak available by stacking DR/evasion- not by popping a cooldown, right? Can I trust the numbers it gives me on the ship page, in game? Or should I do the math myself? Also, would 'peak shield strength' then also be something I should list? It seems like that could vary a bit more than the two you listed... Still- I'm willing to add them if you think they would be a worthy addition.

Thanks for the feedback, guys- and I'll see you in the sky~

  4.

That's all fine and dandy- but unless i'm missing something- that list only has five of the twelve ships currently available in-game. It lists bombers as 'coming soon', and doesn't have t3 of any ship, or the t2 gunships.

It's a fine list, to a point- but it isn't up to date.

Hence the need for a new one.

    ^_^

  5. Hey all.

So I initially started working on this purely for myself- I like things laid out so I can compare options, visually, at-a-glance. Once I put a bit of work into it- I figured I'd share it with you guys, as I hadn't seen something similar in my short time on these forums. I know that all this data is in-game, in the starfighter menu, but I dislike clicking and scrolling through each ship when I want to, for example, check which ships have access to Barrel Roll.

If there already is something like this around, please point me in that direction, and disregard the rest of my post.

If there isn't, I would love feedback / ideas to make it better.

    Thanks for taking a look~

(oh, and make sure you notice the tabs at the bottom- I've got primaries, secondaries, system, shields, engines, and the rest as different tabs.)

    The Link

Edit; Big thanks to Drakkolich for giving all of the data for the new second tab! much appreciated.

  6. I am Risp'iege'lorku and Rjam'io'nottow on imp and pub, respectively.

And when i heard about a GSF 'event' i was like hell yeah!

I can be on the whole time.

I can play on imp or pub.

I will be flying anything but a strike fighter, but i'm best as a gunship.

I have a couple gunships maxed on each side, a bomber maxed on each side, and a scout on each side that's almost maxed. Everything else is ~halfway or stock.

  7. I can't believe no one has asked this yet (at least i think so, searching brought back nothing, but i may have missed something);

But if they're removing planetary comms...how is gearing while leveling gonna work? Am i just gonna be getting basic comms as rewards for dailies / missions, and using them at the planetary vendors?

That seems more likely than them removing the planetary vendors...

But i haven't seen an announement either way, so-

    Bioware!

How will gearing while leveling work in 3.0 re: comms?

  8. My post was in relation to the Op's but.... people are claiming extra bonus from gaming the system at lvl55 which is just pure nonsence in my experience. I have 5 55's 10 others.

On low rank fine (though still belive higher expert should be rewarded) who cares. people even claim to remove a whole item and get better resaults? lol!!!

You may get a better bolster of lets say 49% insted of 44% but it is bolstering 400 power now instead of 550 power if you had your item in.

Is that better? Peaople are just not thinking

Anecdotal evidence is not proof of anything. It can support more concrete evidence, but it is not proof of its own.

I do not know quite how bolster works, it is entirely possible that it can be manipulated to bolster lower ranked gear above higher gear, depending on how bioware does their math. It has previously been demonstrated that a naked level 10 will our stat a fully geared 50. Bolster has changed since then, but that does not mean the same "fault" that rewards crappy gear is not still present in a lesser form.

  9. lol this is pure ignorant nonsense

Does OP even have more than one or even one char at 2018?

Pure crap and why pvp forums are bull, stick to your server forum. at least you can potentially call people on crap in real time

If you have some information that might shed light on the subject, by all means. I'd be very interested to see it.

I intend to test some things myself. Will post numbers if and when I get them, if it hasn't been resolved by then.

  10. What, may i ask, is the problem with gear advantage? Its not as though any of the gear is unavailable to anyone who puts in the time to get it. If I put in the weeks it takes to get awesome gear, why should i not have an advantage? what is the point of earning the gear, any gear, in any game, if i can be just as effective with basic stuff? That is how progression works. Put in time and effort and gain skill to get the better stuff.

It is the very definition of a fair system. If you are lazy or "don't have the time" its not the fault of bioware. Make the time, or accept that you don't have the time to be competitive. If anything, denying dedicated and skilled players a progression system worthy of the investment they've put in is unfair. It also detracts from the game's lifespan, by rendering any advanced content pointless in terms of potential benefits (hence the gear scaling upwards as the new content is released. In that context, gear advantage is a good thing. It provides both incentive and tangible reward for skill, effort and dedication.

  11. Hey, forum.

    Long time no reading you.

Not sure if this is in the right place, but I stopped playing for a while, and have decided to return.

So, what do i really need to know about things that have changed?

The last time i logged on was right after TFB came out (story mode), and i haven't read a thing about the updates, other than hearing about the expansion, the new levels and the dyes.

    So lay stuff on me!

    And welcome me back.

And move me if need be.

    :D

Patching now, and i'm surprised how excited i am to get back in it~

EDIT: Just finished reading through the developer posts about the class changes posted from 4.16-4.19 for 2.0(?).

    And DAMN!

so much changed, just there. o.O

  12. You don't create it. As the item says, there's a vendor on coruscant.

Go to coruscant, go to the big plaza right in front of the senate building, find the vendors right in front of the left (looking at the senate building) entrance to the underground area, click on the legacy item you want, presto.

  13. There are a lot of people complaining about Rage/Focus who would disagree with you.

Fair enough, see my post after that one, then infer that I only have a mara, and my jugg isn't over level 20 yet. :p

  14. Wow.

I am shocked that people could even be this heartless.

You have no business being a healer, Sir.

I heal everyone equally, regardless of my personal opinion of the person.

Sometimes me not liking someone will bump them down a notch or two on my internal triage meter, but I would never not heal someone just cause of personal beef.

    Still shocked.

  15. 1. players are not worth gains for a period of time after death (ie 10 minutes)

    2. gains are based on valor rank as opposed to level. thus a rank 70 player is worth more than a rank 20.

    3. bonuses to gain for lower pop factions. (based on planet pop, not server pop)(ie 10% valor bonus or 5% credit bonus.)

    4. Make respawn locations unattackable.

1: Neat concept, but once the ins and outs are known, it just goes back to being a farmfest unless the timer is super long, which would just be frustrating for the people who aren't farming.

2: Again, neat concept, but I can see this going down the path of other (f2p) mmo's i've played before, where people basically become 'xp whores' standing around naked with valor 100 and either charging for kills (and having their friends kill you if you don't pay) or helping others farm.

3: Not fully fleshed out, so I can't comment on it in full. Would the bonuses be permanent or on a timer? Either way could be a lot of fun, though :p

4: They've tried and failed at doing this in the past. People always find ways around it. :/

Not trying to shoot down your ideas, more looking it at it from a 'don't want farmers and exploiters to ruin it for everyone else' viewpoint.

Which, again, coming up with an idea to work for both aspects might prove difficult...

    :/

  16. Splitting my responses;

One thing I miss from other games is a lateral way to grow your char. ie in DAoC you had realm ranks. You gained skills through experience gains in PvP. I think SWTOR could benefit greatly by adding a skill tree based on their valor rankings.

Great Idea, I'd love to see something like this implemented. They could do something similar with the Legacy system, too. Simply, anything would be a nice reward for having gotten my legacy above 25 and my valor above 70 (at which point both stop mattering in any way shape or form).

    I support this idea, vehemently.

Additionally why are there no gains from open world pvp? There are no benefits at all to ow pvp. Not even on PVP servers where you think there would be incentives to pvp. You could easily add valor/exp/comms/credits to pvp kills.

    Great Idea, in concept.

However, in practice, it kind of flopped.

See, it was kind of like that back in vanilla (only valor, but still).

The problem was that people exploited it. Getting to valor 100 in a matter of a weekend.

So while I agree that there should be some sort of reward for Open World pvp; i understand how implementing a system that isn't easily exploited could prove rather difficult.

Any concrete (good) ideas by us, the community, might help that along.

    Anyone?

    ;)

  17. First off, i don't agree.

Neat idea; wouldn't be implemented well.

    Secondly;

Right now Bioware is forcing players to choose between gear progression or adrenals/medpacks

I've found that the solution to that is to have alts that pvp. No other useful items are available to purchase with warzone comms under 50, anyway; so just your daily every day for a few days will give you enough for more than a stack of either medpac or adrenals.

I pop them like candy on my 50's, but i just run a constant supply from whatever alt i'm leveling and i haven't run out yet.

  18. There is nothing wrong with going doing the shared tree for any AC but some classes just have better tools/abilities to make it that much better.

    Fair enough.

I hadn't looked at it like that before, but thinking about it, i think you're absolutely correct.

You even have them correctly labeled.

    :)

  19. Two words;

    Word 1; Cull.

    Word 2; Sniper.

War/knight and inq/consular shared trees are both meh imo.

And Pyro Power is obviously still beefy, but i haven't actually played one yet.

  20. 1. THERES A CIRCLE WHERE YOU THROW IT if your team doesnt go in that circle they need to learn 2. throw the ball in front of your teammate when there running so they catch it anyway.... 3. explain where you are? they shouldnt be pvping if they dont have awareness 4. telling who to focus? theres marks for a reason typing skull target burn oh look i typed all 3 of those in 2 seconds so typing one shouldnt be hard

1: That's not exactly how Huttball works...Also that's a rather arrogant way of looking at it. :/

2: Ideally, yes. To attempt to do this in every situation would be a very poor way to do things, however.

3: Awareness can only go so far. People don't have 360 degree views/lightning reflexes. The ability to simply say, 'i'm behind you' is simple but great coordination.

4: That's still 2 seconds that are spent typing instead of fighting. Add the time it takes to hit enter twice and that's two gcd's your opponent now has ahead of you.

5: More can be said over VoIP than just E 3 INC / W 4 INC etc.

As was already said, coordination in a team based game is key.

Yes, communicating via typing gets the point across, but doing so via a VoIP is simpler, quicker and more efficient.

Which in a team based game, can be key to survival/winning.

Which isn't to say that if one team has VoIP and the other doesn't, the one with will win; that will come down to skill like any other match.

VoIP doesn't mean your team will win, it simply means easier means of communication. But, again, we're talking about team based objective based pvp.

    TL : DR

OP too cheap to rent a VoIP server, then proceeds to whine about people who do.

Cause these forums need more QQ.
