  1. it'll be nice when we can actually start kiting etc.. very difficult to have to face someone... cast slow dots, turn around and run away without them catching up to you at that point.... hopefully they fix that and we don't have to be looking at someone to cast dots just like our heals.
  2. Healing in PVP is a lot of fun, seeing the frustration of an enemy throwing everything at you and you easily heal through it.

However, one issue is that if you don't do any dps, don't expect to get many medals/valor from pvp. Which makes it difficult when you want to start getting gear at 50.

but good luck and have fun :-D

  3. ^^ agreed.

Even if you cast faster, you don't cast for less. So you shouldn't be casting more heals necessarily. In a pinch maybe, but doubtful. Keep throwing up your HOT for deliverance cast proc, and focus heal for your force return, if done correctly, you won't run out of force. If you do, its most likely your team, not you thats the problem.

  4. O your talking 1v1. Ahh this is an mmo sorry.. 400-600k healing matches is on par with good dps.. if your not putting up those healing numbers then reroll or find find some friends to protect you. And yes i have tons of 400-600k screenshots if you really need proof.

please do, include spec, gear, strat :D

  5. There are caps and diminishing returns on the bonuses from all ratings (except Power), but there is no "limit point".

The cap on the rating bonus from most offensive stats is 30%. The cap on the rating bonus from Surge is 50%. Note this doesn't mean you can't have (say) a critical chance higher than 30%. Bonuses which come from talents, and your base critical chance, are not subject to diminishing returns. Diminishing returns and caps only affect the bonuses from ratings.

The way diminishing returns work is easy to understand. The value of adding a point of rating is proportional to fraction of the cap remaining above your current bonus.

    Example:

The cap on the bonus from Critical Rating is 30%. If you already have a 10% bonus from Critical Rating, you are 20% below the cap (30% - 10% = 20%), and the next point of Critical Rating you add will contribute 2/3's of what the first point contributed.

If you somehow had a bonus of +20% from Critical Rating, you are 10% under the 30% cap, and the next point would add only 1/3 of the base value, and so on.

Reaching the cap is actually impossible (it would require an infinite amount of Critical Rating).

looks good, but where are you getting these numbers from? just out of curiosity?

  6. heres a quick and easy rotation for elite+ mobs.

    • buff qyzen with sheild and (if you want) our Hot.

    • send him in

    • cast both Dots before he gets there

    • cast two rotations of dps (at work so i don't have the names of spells) ball of force, tele and the pebble one.

    • throw Hot on companion, then your big heal (which should be reduced to 1.4 sec), then your focused heal to hopefully get some force back, then re-shield him again

cast dots again and repeat until dead.

  7. For me, its Willpower > Crit > Surge > Power > End > Armour

reasoning being that the more i crit and the more i crit for the better both my heals and my DPS is.

True, but the issue with that is now you're relying on critting for heals. As a healer, I would rather have consistent heals that I can KNOW that it will heal this much, so im not guessing everytime when I should start healing and hope it will crit to stop from overheal. Helps with keeping an eye of force, so you don't burn through it on the first 1/4 of the bosses life.

EDIT: Heal Spec: Willpower > Power >Alac > Crit

  8. Don't listen to Maivar .... full seer spec is awesome for leveling. I gain a level every 2-3 hours depending how hard im working at it (at 46 atm). I can take on multiple mobs without CC and elites and even champions are no match for me.

One simple rule, if your companion stays alive, so do you. I use Qyzen (who's sitting at 11k health) and I fly through most instances/worlds. if there are a ton of normal mobs, forcequake them all down at once with the companion keeping agro, no problem. The only issue I have is if im fighting a boss that has a lot of stuns/cc.

It is true that the DPS is a little lacking, but im a healer, can't be a powerhouse at everything, but as long as you have a solid rotation of keeping your dots up and healing your companion. you'll be fine.

Downtime is minimal other than getting force back.

  9. Im a Seer and love my class. And though I agree with some of the things the OP is trying to say, others I do not.

I do believe that sage should have a non-force using ranged attack to bolster force since all we have now is sacrafice (currently at work, so can't find out what the skill is exactly) which not only takes life but also destroys any regen we already have.

However, do I think we need willpower based melee attacks..no. lol if were at melee range, were dead. we have force sprint, 2-3 slow down cc's, 1 full cc, heals and force armor. we should be able to get away at least to the point of killing our opponent.

Also, i'd like to add, if we could throw some of our dots while not facing our opponent would make "keeping distance" soooo much easier. and manageable since in pvp, thats all we have for the most part. :)
