  1. Custom Built (BY me) Corsair 400R Case Max fan's installed. Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Mobo Corsair 800w Modular PSU Intel i7 2600k Over clocked to 4.5ghz. Corsair H80 Liquid cooled CPU 16 gig's DDR3 Patriot Viper Extreme memory 2X Nvidia GTX 570's in SLI Game runs great everything is cool and stable. Can run the game for hours on end and never see any big spikes in heat.
  2. Not this again http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=144573
  3. For god sakes read the entire post. You all have ADHD or something? Great post. Well thought out and great suggestions. I too am a SWG vet of Pre CU and played it till it's announced end. I felt immersed and part of the world. In TOR I feel separated and detached. I love the game it's entertaining and fun to play. I have a 50 Sith Sorc and a 34 Guardian. But more immersion would go a long way in making this universe seem like a universe and not a small world.
  4. I'm sorry but I'm siting here reading this thread and laughing my arse off. To think that software is the problem causing your computers to malfunction because it isn't coded correctly is crazy! As others have said. Even if SWTOR pinged the hell out of your CPU and ran all 2, 4, 6, 8 cores at 100% you would be responsible for the cooling of your CPU not Bioware, lol to think otherwise is silly. I have never seen a thread where people are openly blaming a MMO's code for there computer's inability to keep there components cool. I guess no amount of factual or professional advice is going to sway the haters. Go ahead blame the code, blame Bioware. Heck blame Bioware for your lot in life as well.
  5. No according to the SWTOR haters it's bad code causing peoples computers to over heat. The game isn't optimized, "everyone knows this" "it's a known issue". People are playing SWTOR for extended duration's with PC's that are NOT OPTIMIZED for extended playing at max settings. Of course things are going to get hot if you have 2 fans stock cooling small case and big graphics cards.
  6. Ok I see what you are...You're one of those SWTOR haters. No matter what anyone says you're going to believe, spread, propagate that EA/Bioware put out a crap game full of bugs AND has bad coding that isn't optimized for god only knows what computer. So there is no reasoning with you then. Someones computer overheating playing this game is not the fault of the computer fans or the case couldn't be, but is in fact the games bad code not being "optimized" that is causing all the problems. Got ya.
  7. But that's just it. It's like having a Ford Festiva and running said Ford Festiva at 130mph for 36 hours straight. Some thing in that car is going to break down because it simply wasn't designed to run at max speed for a long time. Computers are the same way. If you play a graphics intensive game on max settings (Skyrim SWTOR Crysis ect) for long periods, say more than 4 or 5 hours straight you're going to build up heat. If your computer isn't designed to dissipate and deal with the heat then things are going to start to break down. This is not a function of the game, but of the length of time spent playing the game on max settings. SWTOR doesn't cause more heat output than Skyrim. That's stupid. The longer you play, the longer you keep your CPU and GPU under load the more heat you build up. The more heat you build up the more your computer has to work to keep cool. If you don't have adequate cooling, your system falls behind and things start to go bad. Thats why "gaming rigs" are designed to play games on max settings for long periods. It's not all about CPU speed and GPU speed. It's also dealing with heat build up and keeping the rig cool.
  8. I have essentially the same set up 2X 120 Top fans 2x 200 Front Intake fans my CPU is being cooled by a Corsair H80 with 2x 120 fans in a push pull configuration and I have 2 intake fans on the side of my case. I have no issues with heat NONE. In fact during game play the air coming out the top of my case is quite cool and it's still very quiet. Max CPU temp is never over 55 and my GPU temp is never over 70. If your going to play demanding, graphics intensive games for long periods you need to have optimum cooling on ALL your hardware components or you will see hardware failure. It doesn't matter if it SWTOR, Skyrim or what ever. If you play it to the Max you need to cool it to the max. Period.
  9. Sorc's are not weak in PvP, in fact if played right there one of the most deadly classes on the battlefield. I'm not even spec'd "PvP" and get over 35 kills a match and I am always in the top 5 in damage. You can't play this class like a tank, you need to play it "on the fringe". Pick off the players with low health and just cause general chaos.
  10. You have a mid range card with a CPU that's not really designed to be a gaming CPU. Others will disagree but when you pair a high to mid level gaming GPU with low end entry level CPU you're going to get a bottle neck. The i7 2600k (What I'm currently running) is well worth the money.
  11. LOL the things people complain about.... It never ceases to amaze me.
  12. It's a MMO most MMO's have weekly maintenance windows. Get used to it. Take the time to do something other than play the game. Jesus it's like your getting your crack taken away from you for a day. If you can't live with out SWTOR for 8 hours then you seriously need to re prioritize the important things in your life.
  13. Same here Darth title not showing up just a blank space where the title should be. Hopefully there is a fix to this in the works. At least you can continue the story tho.
  14. You cant just stand in one spot and expect to win. You have to move around hit and run and use LOS. Set Khem to damage mode not tank it makes a huge difference. Just shoot and scoot and keep your DoT's on her. It took me a couple of times but you'll get it.
  15. Steven Reed tweeted that this is NOT TRUE. "Well, according to the database pull, they're mistaken."
