  1. Maybe a complete coincidence, or perhaps this was always the case, but as of today, there is the Imperial Lieutenant's Armor Set available on the Galactic Seasons vendor on Fleet. Not the set I wanted! But I presume the availability of these sets will cycle in and out.
  2. With the Galactic Season ending tomorrow, and presumably a new one beginning soon thereafter, it would be really nice if old seasonal armors could be made available. Please write me back Biosword so I don't have to start calling myself Stan.
  3. Just a bump to get this back on the radar. I would really like some way to obtain old seasonal armor sets, even if its through CE, seasonal tokens or tech fragments.
  4. From my understanding most ranged classes are hampered by, and adequately shut down by... focus. So the responsibility doesn't fall to you alone. Your options are choosing a more convinient opponent to be your kill target, or getting commitment from your teammates to help kill the sniper; at least for Arenas. In WZ's? Just let your backline fight them, or deal with their frontline and then push for them; getting kited doesn't benefit anyone but them, when you could be doing damage to a more exposed and accessible target. If it came down to a purely 1v1 scenario, I can't say I know either class well enough to have valid input.
  5. I think in a balanced match, with tanks and healers, AP PT, Rage Jugg and Carnage Marauder are probably the strongest specs in the game. Madness has high damage potential that is easily shut down by any modicum of focus requiring them to kite. Some say they're OP because of their healing and defensives, and I'm fine with that opinion. But if you stripped it of its healing, and mobility, and DR; what then? A light armored glass cannon that does less than comparable damage to the games' current strongest specs? /shrug. Interrupts, hard CC and damage pressure completely disable Madness' ability to inflict relevant amounts of damage (in 4v4 THDD), whereas something like carnage has high uptime on full CC immunity, incredible DPS, and is quite literally an unstoppable machine whos' only challenge posed before them is not hitting into Guard. If we start talking about 1v1's, or 8v8's that have no healers and no tanks and are just a completely unbalanced stompfest, then that isn't a reasonable testing ground for where balance should stand to begin with. There's also the fundamental problem things like - skill variance, gear variance, knowledge variance. Most people I see in queue don't even have blue augments for their gear. Most people I see in queue massively overextend and play out of position, subjecting themself to death on repeat and have never even heard of the phrases "peel" or "line of sight". I feel like there is issues at a fundamental design level, that would need to be adressed first, before class balance could be put under a microscope. Damage being dialed back, healing being increased, and a slower overall TTK would help ease the awful feeling of games being so stompy. I also think Bolster should just be removed, and the PVP-only gear should be introduced back into the game, so that all the players enter and progress on an equal playing field. I suppose that isn't the point of this topic though... Anyway, take away all Madness heals and DR, give me a 10m dotspread and Blink from WoW and you've got a deal, thanks. P.S - Happy to be debated on any of my thoughts and opinions, its just my perspective from playing since Shae Vizla opened and I started playing again.
  6. title will pay money maybe her hairstyle too? ty xoxo
  7. It was probably a decision made simply to try and consolidate the PVP community and get more pops. Any developer (i think, and hope) is aware of the consequences that something like removing ranked pvp from the game is bound to cause. I'm sure they remember the backlash when 8v8 Ranked was removed all those years ago. Would love to see it come back, regardless. Maybe one day... in the utopian future of cross-server queues.
  8. On the contrary, I love when people just tell me what's the best. 😔
  9. I still haven't found a compelling answer beyond, "its a nice utility pick." However, I will say that Deathfield seems to miss a lot on targets that roll, charge or leap. The 5-yard range also means its a genuine gamble if you'll ever get proper dot cleave match-to-match, while deathbrand offers a consistent option. I think the crux of my personal gripe with deathbrand is it feels awful when you get into those games wishing you had deathfield, and then in the games where you have deathfield but barely get to utilize it, you find yourself wondering why you didn't just take deathbrand. As a side note, I'm curious on what people think about the choice between Plaguemaster, Critical Movement and Overloaded strike. Plaguemaster seems nice for the burst potential it offers, though the large setup required to execute an effective and well timed burst is tedious, especially when your dots are cleansed or you are required to target swap due to LoS, Guard, etc. Critical Movement is nice for the extra mobility and marginally decreased CD on Polarity, but seems to lack the damage potential of either of the two other options. And Overloaded Strike is very nice for AOE and proccing tempest of rho, but suffers the same issue as deathfield where, in games that lack stacked fights, it feels underwhelming. At the end of the day I can't help but want to play for damage potential. But there's an argument to be made that most AOE damage is just fluff and not effective DPS anyway. /shrug
  10. I appreciate the response, I've actually been watching your youtube videos hoping for some insight, but your most recent video was about Lightning. (And I've seen all the others.) I still find it difficult to reason using it, when all the costs are leveraged against DF/Unrelenting Affliction; especially if you're using Overloaded Strike (which you seem to prefer.) Whatever damage is gained seems lost when you lose Demolish ticks on Deathmark, and Downfall being disabled by the lack of marks.
  11. The points apply to both Arena and WZ. Though I know the very first kill is more important in arenas (at least for 4v4 DPS only.)
  12. Looking for an educated or mathmatical response on why you'd ever really take Deathbrand over Unrelenting Affliction. Death Field, after Dark Echo, does practically the same raw damage as Deathbrand on application. Deathbrand's Internal and Elemental Damage Taken Debuff can be applied by other classes. Deathbrand's slow can be removed or ignored by many of the melee classes, making it mostly useless. Deathbrand's chance to re-apply and deal internal damage is miserably inconsistent, at a 30% chance. (Dark Echo is 50%, and is a chance for each target hit.) Taking Deathbrand completely eliminates your ability to passively dot-spread and apply death marks to multiple targets at once. Taking Deathbrand significantly reduces the uptime of your death marks, due to the loss of Unrelenting Affliction. The increased healing of Deathbrand seems mostly irrelevant when DPS/TTK is so high currently, it will not make the difference of living or dying under pressure from multiple players. At least from my perspective and testing, Deathbrand only seems useful in dueling situations, where its healing, slow and completely single target useability seem to be the most useful. While having Deathmarks and Assailable on a target is a greater Internal damage increase for <x> period of time, the loss of Unrelenting Affliction means you lose death marks significantly faster, and you lose the potential of producing more death marks across multiple targets per CD of Deathfield. Deathbrand seems to have greater synergy with the Leech/Plaguemaster burst potential, but lacks the AOE pressure that has historically made Madness so oppressive. So my question is, why? Please, I need to know. Why do people choose Deathbrand over Deathfield?
  13. I've recently started playing again on the APAC servers, and I had my eye on the Shadow Initiate set, but from what I can tell, there is no way to get the old sets? Are they cycled through the seasonal vendors, or are they entirely unavailable? If they are unavailable, it would be nice to have some way introduced to get these old rewards. Would appreciate any sort of informative or otherwise hopeful response.
  14. Saw your Call To Arms video on the SWTOR Subreddit and just came to say I think what you guys are doing is awesome. I'm a filthy Imperial myself, but I've never been more inspired to make a Pub. Your RP events look awesome.
  15. How is Treasure Hunting making ludicrous amounts of credits? I've been away from the game from awhile and assume I'm missing something.
  16. I think it's important to keep in mind that other Empire's and Emperor's can exist, we see this with the Zakuun Empire in the coming expansion, KOTFE. I just think it's a little silly when individual players claim their characters are Emperors and Empresses', even with a guild of say - 600 people, that's not even the population of a town, let alone an Empire. You could argue the "Empire" is made up of mostly NPC or "invisible characters" for story purposes, but even then, I'd find it hard to take anyone role-playing as an Emperor seriously, I find most Darths a little ridiculous as is. There's so many better ways to uniquely define a character and associated organizations than just slapping on a title and stepping on people's toes. At least it's not as bad as people claiming to be on the Dark Council. Even Malgus, with the best scientists in the galaxy and an army of alien mercenaries on his side fell to Imperial Forces. So if you're frolicking about pretending to be an Emperor, someone, somewhere, is going to want to kill you. Unless said someone finds you so insignificant that you're not worth the trouble, which would be ironic considering calling yourself an Emperor is usually some mad power trip. I'm babbling on, but you don't have to give yourself a fancy title to be considered powerful.
  17. I didn't really understand the prophecy being told. Though I assume the repeated cycle has something to do with.. fate repeating it's self? Also I'm fairly sure calling yourself an Emperor classifies you as a rogue Sith, and anyone who associates with you would likely be hunted down by Sith Assassins aligned with the Empire. Might also be a little grandiose when considering the size of a guild in comparison to an actual Empire which requires an actual Emperor. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you actively avoid Imperial Space in IC scenarios.
  18. 6 months straight of solo queue. g e t h y p e d b o y z
  19. Double AP can beat our team, I assure you. But it comes down to coordination. It's a hardswitch comp. Det bait on a false target to force a guard swap to a false target, stun the tank, blow up unguarded target. youwin. I can't be bothered playing mountain goat with you anymore, so I'll just leave you to your thoughts.
  20. can also confirm that Itchy's team (arguably the best in the game right now running double Hatred Sin) went neck and neck with us, even though both of our DPS weren't using the ship parts bolster and theirs were. Not gonna lie, I laughed when you said that AP PT wasn't FOTM. That part was good. "I'm not downplaying your accomplishments." And then you spend an entire post trying to downplay our accomplishments, rofl. Different servers doesn't define you as a better PVPer. Teams from other servers have come to us. The -only- team we've lost to so far was Itchy's team. And if you honestly think the Postmortem teams we versed weren't serious you're just deluding yourself to bolster your down in the dirt pride. We got better. We started winning. Get over it. We're not trying to brag, we just don't want derps **** talking us.
  21. -How is the pvp community? -Is ranked thriving? -Are the matches competitive? -Faction balance? Imbalance? -Any ranked teams that run with concealment/lethality operatives? All fighting above aside, I'd say the pvp community is healthy and growing. For Regs, Imps and Pubs both queue regularly - though you're more likely to see a super queue of Pub guilds because the PVP community is smaller on their side of the fence. I'd say Imps win a majority of the games, but Pubs are very good at Huttball. Solo Ranked seems to pop every day even in pre-season. I'm not sure if that will persist into S4, but we'll see. It's the usual cancer it is on every server. Pray you don't get queued with the less than reputable characters. As for Group Ranked, there's teams floating around. <good talk> has 2 teams, there was some internal issues in Postmortem which caused some of their strongest PVP players to split off, and in their current state they're a bit scattered - I'm not sure they're able to sport a team anymore. (But yes, we did beat them eventually. It wasn't before an entire season of getting our *** kicked, though.) There are other guilds out there interested in Group Ranked, however, and from what I've been told(promised?) S4 should see some more consistent teams. Mandalorians have their double AP team, Corruption is forming a team, Decimation has a team(?), Saberwing wants to do Group Ranked. There's plenty of people wanting to do group ranked. And <good talk> looks forward to fighting anyone who is willing to rumble. Are the matches competitive? I think other servers have a better average mass of "adequate" players; simply because PVP servers attract that sort of attention. But it is a mistake to assume there are no skilled players on this server simply because it's an RP server. The skill levels on TEH vary in fairly large spikes and are incredibly obvious. Solo Ranked and Regs can hardly be considered "competitive", so I'll just say this. Teams start off weak till they build their synergy and become better as players. Some teams are better than others; but that doesn't last forever. Faction Balance? Probably more Imps for PVP. But the PVP community Pub side is tight knit across a few guilds. DPS Operatives? I'd like to try running two concealment Operatives one day. But outside of that idea, I've never seen anyone run a DPS Operative outside of Vps going full sharkmode one day on Fusrodah's stream. Anyone who feels like downplaying the accomplishments of my guild is more than welcome to verse us in team ranked. Just make sure to bring your "serious team"; we wouldn't want any misunderstandings.
