So overwhelmingly people will insist on not capping huttball because valor is gained based off of time played as the main factor or 6 capping glitches daily counts.
For one daily counts glitch regardless of a 6 cap, so rest easy there. Now on to the valor gained issue.
In this scenario, the valor gain can be shown as
V=x(mins) + win bonus
So therefore the sooner you win, the sooner you can play another wz to get another win bonus, also you gain the same amount of valor per min competing in a new wz, which gives you the opportunity to win more, as opposed to wasted mins with no constant bonus. Now on to the Ilum buff. If you are intelligent, and trying to gain valor the fastest way possible, you will make sure you always queue with the Ilum buff active, giving you another 100-200 valor per completion.
So now we have
V=x(mins) + win bonus + ilum buff
Variable. Constant. Constant
The faster you win, the faster you get this constant gains of wins and ilum, and on the other side, you don't spend 7 mins getting spanked you could be spending trying to win - either way you get the same variable valor per minute, but your constant valor awarded per minute will decrease .
Finally people have said this only true if you queue instantly after your wz. Also false, you are subject to unknown queue time no matter whether you do a 7 min wz or 15 min, and it has nothing to do with avg. valor earned/min and is irrelevant. Also, if you are grinding valor, you gain way more in 7 mins of ilum then the variable/min valor for wzs, and you continue to renew your warzone buff which is crucial to increasing your avg valor/min in wzs.
