  1. bump keep this post big, maybe they will act on it faster =P
  2. If your player name is say Milk, and his was Cheese, it would look like this in his chat bar "/1 Milk is a noob Milk: I know." And it would look like this in the chat Cheese: Milk is a noob Milk: I know Basically he puts a bunch of spaces to push that part of the text on a bottom line (As one line can only hold a certain amount of text). Atleast this is what I assume your talking about
  3. Ilum NEEDS to be redesigned. Should be top priority for PvP, as if nothing is done, many will leave... And everyone knows, once a game has lost its player base, no matter what kind of changes they do, it will only make it 50xs harder to bring players back... Ppl are NOT forgiving. /SINGED
  4. A proper combat log would be a nice addition, a very good idea. I personally havn't sold on the GTN, but I've seen some other players talk about a better interface for selling items and such. Added to the list. Any other suggestions?
  5. I think giving crafting profession's something unique (Orange armor sets, orange weapon sets, etc.) is a awesome idea and would help form a proper economy in-game, as currently Credits are over all worthless end-game. I will add your suggestion to the list.
  6. Rryryk

    New PvP warzone map!

This idea actually sounds pretty cool and semi fun =P
  7. Hes asking advice on WHAT spells he should looking out for to interrupt, not how to find out what spell is being interrupted... And sorry, I honestly have not done much with learning the other classes as of yet to help you out with that one.
  8. The following is being looked at. <Video Trailer - http://www.swtor.com/media/trailers/coming-star-wars-old-republic > <Note - Anything said in the video is not final, and may or may not be added.> - A new Warzone - A form of Ranked PvP - New Guild Features - Guild Banks - User Interface Customization <Patch Notes - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=2419221#edit2419221 > - If Sprint was active when a player died, it now remains active when the player is revived. <Patch Notes - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=2452276#edit2452276 > - Champion Bags now always contain 15 Centurion Commendations AND 7 Champion Commendations. Battlemaster Bags now always contain 15 Champion Commendations. So Centurion gearing up progression for new level 50s is increased significantly and Champion gearing up progression will be steady. When what is talked about is either added to the game, or the idea has changed, I will remove it from this section. Again, anything posted in this section by me is not 100% official , or final, so don't get upset if things listed here do not end up happening.
  9. (For anyone who wants the "tl;dr", look at the bold captions in front of each text wall. You will get the main idea.) Want to post in this topic? Here's some rules. - Don't bash the game. - Don't bash each other. - Don't flame the topic, Bioware, SWTOR, or anything else. - Don't have "this game vs. that game" battles here. - Keep posts constructive. - Like some of the ideas? Cool, let me know with a reply. - Dislike some of the ideas? Cool, let me know with a reply (Keep it constructive!). - Want to add your own ideas? Post it below, and I will add it if it is something that would be a good addition to the game. A side note - I will update this section as much as I can to help Bioware keep track of everything the players want. In the 3rd post, I will also try to keep a list of what Bioware is planning on looking at (Of course it may not all be official, as its something they will LOOK at, not something they will 100% add.) Okay, now that that's been said, we can let Bioware know what we would like to see added to the game. I have been looking on the forums, looking at suggestions players make, and decided to add them to a big list for Bioware to see all at once. I'm doing this because, lets face it, a lot of the "good" posts are lost with all the complaint posts. That, and there are a lot of good posts that are flamed/trolled to the ground. Any ways, here is a list of ideas I have thought of that would improve the game (Either slightly or drastically) as well as ideas I have seen many other players suggest (And I have agreed that it would be a good change/addition to the game). <In NO specific order> - Do you care? - Let us know how you feel about the things we suggest to you. Leave a post in topics that are a hot issue, or post a forum topic with a list of things you know we want, and you do plan on adding in time. This would help players A LOT to know that their concerns are heard. - Arenas - Arenas are a great way for both casual PvP players and competitive PvP players to pass time. Add a ranking system for the hard core players, and you just made half your PvP player base happy. People like to compete, and Arenas is a great system if done properly, and I'm sure SWTOR could do it properly. With Arenas added, it would be better to NOT add Arena gear into the game, as then it forces players who want to do PvP as casual players to grind the Arena gear. Keep the current best in slot PvP gear as it is with the addition to Arenas, and it will be fun for all. - Duel Areas - Allow players to duel in the main "hang out" places (Fleets). Dueling is actually a very popular thing players like to do, as it lets them practice their 1v1 skills, learn their class better, and its just something to do. In order to duel someone if you are on the fleet, you have to go through a loading screen if your on the fleet just to be able to duel someone. Adding a area to fleets (Even though its not a major change) would give players one more enjoyable thing to do. - Faction Bosses - Adding faction bosses in each factions main city is a great way to promote open world PvP. Have the bosses on a fairly long respawn rate, make them fairly difficult, and make them drop something players need. Giving the faction bosses a loot item causes players to want to continue to raid the other factions leader, and of course having the other faction storming into your main city causes players to want to defend their faction leader. In order for this to work properly though, guards can not be super strong, but not super weak at the same time. Guards that are to strong will discourage this, while guards that are to weak will allow the city to be raided with ease by few people. - Open World PvP Raid Bosses - Add some open world raid like bosses to some places. Do a server wide announcement that "xxx has spawned on xxx planet.". Let these bosses drop something nice that can benefit both PvP players and PvE players. This will cause faction battles to occur to determine which faction gets to kill the boss while its up this time. - Promote Open World PvP over Warfronts - Doing things such as removing the warfront weekly (and even the daily) and add more open world PvP quests is a huge step towards promoting the idea of Open World PvP. If Faction Bosses were added to each Factions city, a heroic weekly could be added to kill that boss. Doing small things like this promotes Open World PvP by a lot, next to competitive PvP, Open world PvP is the next best thing. Removing the WF's daily/weekly wont have a huge negative impact on WFs as there will always be players who will Queue up for a quick warfront regardless of if there is a quest for it or not, as it has set objectives to do, where as open world PvP does not currently. - Improve Open World PvP - Do something big. Do something awesome, make the PvP players who left because they were unable to find what they wanted in this game come back. Add a large zone with outposts/bases for each faction, and have each faction fight for control over each base/outpost. Put some NPC faction bosses in them that are difficult to kill with a group, and more so difficult to kill with enemy factions trying to defend it. Give rewards for owning certain things in this zone. Server wide Faction buffs (Nothing huge, but something that all players want.. Maybe a EXP bonus, Credit bonus, better loot chances, 5% increase to buffs, ect.). Let the faction who owns most of the objective in this zone unlock something for their faction (Something both PvP and PvE players can benefit from, as this encourages even PvE players to participate... But don't make it a raid with a week lock out, as then players will only do the objective once a week rather than wanting to go back in and keep fighting for the rewards. Maybe access to a planet, and when one faction owns it, they can go there, but when they lose it, the other faction can head there and clear out any enemy faction players who are still on this planet.) - Tune Resolve - At the moment it feels really broken. Make it so the mass majority of CC are counted together when filling up the resolve bar, and granting immunity (Stuns, Fears, Sleeps, Roots, other hard CC). The only things I would not add to the resolve immunity would be slows and knock-backs. - Break-Free Adjustments - Make it so when a player pops their Break-Free type ability, they are immune to all forms of cc for 3-4 seconds or so. It is VERY annoying when you pop your 2 min ability and are instantly CC'ed again. Makes you feel like you shouldn't have popped it in the start. - Interrupt re-work - Make it so interrupting a player locks them out of that school of magic for x seconds. This gives healers a reason to fake cast (The act of casting a spell, then interrupting it purposely your self via movement or esc key to force a DPS to waste their interrupt, giving you free time to free cast without worry). Fake casting is what separates good healers from great healers in competitive play. - On the run heals - Give healers a few spells they can cast via channel (Throw a 4-8 second cool down on it), while running. This allows healers to MOVE once and awhile rather than just stand there while a DPS is beating on them. It lets the healer try to peel DPS off of them so they can continue to go back to healing others. - Warzone Group Reque - After a warzone, give the option to players who formed a group together to reque with one another. Nothing big, but a big fix for many. - Enable/Disable other player spell effects - This is a MUST for open world PvP (And for some, raiding). With so much spell effects going off at once, it lags even the best computers. Adding a option that only shows your spell effects is a much needed addition to the game with its current state of lag (Of course make it show Area of Effect abilities on the ground so players can prevent them selves from standing in it) - More cool downs - What makes players very good at their characters are cool down management. I feel there is a lack of cool downs for most classes, therefore giving the classes a lower skill cap. When players have the addition to use their cool downs, it increases player skill by a lot, in both PvE and PvP, and makes players feel more powerful because they just did something amazing with their class. The current cool downs don't seem to give that "awesome" feeling when used. - Vanish - As having a 50 Operative, I find when I vanish, it rarely works as I want it to. If I'm fighting a Trooper say, and I run away and pop my vanish, anything shot JUST before I popped my vanish will hit me while stealthed and throw me out of it, resulting in a wasted and broken cool down. Vanish needs to have a 1-2 second damage immunity to fix this problem, or add another cool down skill which when used absorbs all damage done for 1-2 seconds OR a cool down that will just make it so any damage taken by the player for 1-3 seconds will NOT break the player out of stealth. This will help fix a broken cool down in PvP. - Macros - This has to be added. As a competitive PvP player, it is very annoying NOT to have the option to macro in modifiers (Shift + key-press, Alt + Key-press, ctrl + key-press). I know I can put it else where on my bar and hotkey it to Shift + key-press, etc. but that takes up so much room that really doesn't need to be taken up. Macros don't have to be anything big, but adding in some small macro abilities like modifiers, follows, chat macros, emote macros, etc. would be a addition appreciated by many. - Customizable user interface - This I'm sure is being looked at, but just thought I should put it down anyway. VERY big thing for players is customizing your UI, customizing they way your screen layout is. - Lag Fix/Loading Screens - The loading screens for many zones are very long, and having to load for awhile is never something players like. Reducing the load screens is a step in the right direction, as well as fixing lag when more than 15 players are on the screen. - Guild Changes - Guild Banks are a must in most MMORPG games now days. Especially for raiding guilds. Having to craft things to prepare for raids take up a lot of space, especially for well prepared guilds like mine was in a previous MMO. We had 2 guild banks just stored of things for our raids. Players like to be able to store things for the guild in a area the whole guild has access to (With ranks given of course) . Guild levels are a very interesting thing, and though not needed, could be a great addition if done properly (Giving some simple perks of some sort). - Guild Alliances - Letting players have guild Alliances is a awesome way to get the community to interact with one another. Throw in a Alliance menu to see who's in your alliance, a alliance chat to interact with all the guilds in your alliance, maybe a alliance ship (would be pretty cool), or a alliance vault. Being able to call for your alliance if you are getting attacked by the enemy faction could easily start some fun open world PvP, and since the players are part of your alliance, they are that much more likely to assist you over asking for help in general chat. - Targeting - I'm sure this is being looked at, but targeting just feels very off in this game at the moment, and I'm sure it will be fixed eventually, but still needs to be posted! - Cosmetic Things - I'm sure this will be posted here, as its a popular thing in most games, so I will add it now. Options for hood up/down. Dye system (One of my favorite things in games that have it, just because you can do fun things such as guild colors, etc.). Guild tabards/cloaks or some other guild cosmetic feature. A NPC that lets you change character features (Hair styles, tatoos, ect.). Allow players to mod PvP sets just like you can with PvE gear. All very little things, but hey, it makes players happy, right? =P - Faction Balance - Pretty hard to force it, but you can promote it. Give the faction with less players (unique to every server of course as not every server will have the same faction imbalance issue) added bonus's for players rolling on that faction. Example - If there are less Republic than Sith, give the Republic side a EXP Increase on that server, and keep it there until the servers balance out (Have a option to disable this though as some players do enjoy leveling at a slower pace! This is a must if you decide to go the EXP Route). Once the two factions are balanced, take away the Bonus's for that faction. Once a faction becomes imbalanced again, add the bonus back to which ever faction has the lower population. - Crafting - Take out some RNG from Reverse Engineering. Buff the more "currently useless" crafts to put them on par with the more useful ones for endgame content. Make crew skills reward the player more. Don't allow dailies to give better rewards than the max level crafting items, keep them on par with the crafted items. Doing this keeps a strong economy, it allows the players who do not want to do dailies every day buy these items from the crafters, and makes the crafters feel like the craft they took is actually useful and needed. - Unique Items - Give each profession something unique that only that profession can craft. Some examples could be giving synthweave the ability to make a orange armor set that only synthweavers could craft. Make the armor look visually appealing, and players can then sell it to others, and this could help form a proper in-game economy. - Warzone AFK/Leavers - Currently players will AFK in warzones or leave a warzone once something in the match goes in a direction that they are not fond of, such as other team scoring first in Hut ball, or the other team 2 capping on Civil. Players who either AFK out or Leave should have a 15-20 minute debuff put on them that prevents them from entering another warzone while the debuff is on the player. - Open World PvP Currency - When you kill players in open world combat, you should receive a commendation for that, such as a Mercenary commendation, that way players are not "forced" to grind Warzones all day to get their Mercenary commendations. - Faster "Out of Combat" - Players should be taken out of combat faster that they do currently (When of course, they step back and are not healing players in combat, or attacking players). Maybe set it so if a player is not doing anything combat related for 8-10 seconds, the player gets thrown out of combat. This allows players to re-stealth or heal up. - Target of Target - This is a must for PvP and PvE. In PvE it allows tanks to know what is on who, and it lets DPS know when they need to peel a monster off a healer. In PvP, it works the same way, lets Tanks know when to taunt other players and it lets DPS know when to peel of healers. - Proc HUD - When a ability (Example, a Sith Juggernaughts Retaliation) procs, something visual should appear on the screen, maybe a little box with the ability that proced in it, or a visual screen flash of some sort. This makes managing procs MUCH easier with everything else going on. - Sprint Toggle - Noting big, but it's a nice feature none the less. When a player dies and revives, keep the sprint toggled on. - Dual Spec - A simple Dual Spec feature is always a awesome thing. Don't go as far as letting players change their Advanced Class, but let them have another spec they can use when needed IN the current Advanced Class they chose. - Increased Medals - Add some more medals for healers. Add some medals for actually completing objectives in the warzones (Getting a point in hut ball, Capturing a point in Civil, Defending a point in Civil, Planting/Disarming the door). They are medals for a reason, not everyone will get one, but have them there for the players that do complete the objective... And show healers some luv =P - Addons - The awesome things people make... Allowing addons means players can help improve the game for others as well. They are a great thing to add to games, long as of course they are not used for exploits and hacks. - Chat Bubbles - Another addition that is not that "big", but its a nice little feature. It helps you see who is saying what (visually, shows location of the player). - Increase Commendation Cap - Increase the cap a little, 1k cap is VERY low seeing as 200 is needed to obtain a bag, which means capping both commendations will only give a player 5 bags. Now normally that's not THAT bad, but if your like me and leveling a alt through PvP, you get capped VERY (with both commendations). If your not interested in increasing the Commendation cap, another change could be allowing players to hold more than one bag at a time, so we can pool a few bags so when we hit 50 we have a chance at getting some decent gear for our warzones (as of now, having no PvP gear on a fresh 50 puts you at a MASSIVE disadvantage!). - Player Buffs/Debuffs Management - When a player buffs another player, or debuffs a enemy player, make the box a larger size than the other effects on that player to let us know that its our buff/debuff on the player. - Buff/Debuff Box Colors - Add some colors to Buffs/Debuffs borders to let players easily know whats what. (Examples, Red border around a debuff that cant be dispelled. Blue borders around debuffs that can be dispelled. etc.) - Obtaining PvP Gear - This one has been said so many times, I'm sure you guys are looking at a way to change this, but it will still be posted here =P . A better system to obtain PvP gear should be implemented, such as x amount of each commendation for x item piece. Although not the best way to obtain gear, its a much better system that the one currently implemented as there is to much RNG with the bags (As well as a chance to get NOTHING from the bags, or get a duplicate item, which is a big turn off for most players) - Combat Log - A combat log of some sort is needed. It helps players figure out what they are doing, and tweak their performance in PvP and PvE, as well as getting some nice rotations out for their class. With the addition of addons eventually (Assuming Addon compatibility is being looked at), combat logs would help players create addons that help players with rotations, their stats, damage/healing/mitigation, etc. - GTN Interface Additions - Nothing game changing, but adding some small features to the interface (Such as comparing prices of other items, or remebering what price you put for duplicate items) could be some small improvements to the GTN system. - Faction Colors - Add some colors to our faction symbols, such as when we own a point in Civil War warfront, if imperial own it, make that symbol red, and if republic own it, make the symbol above it blue. - Ship Customization - I've seen this idea pop up more and more on both the forums and in-game, so I will add this to the list of things players want to see added. Adding some feature to customize our ships would be a nice fun thing for players to do, and make it feel more like its "my" ship rather than "every Imperial Agent has that ship". Some features could include trophies from PvP/PvE, color customization, glows, small cosmetic things (chairs, stands, etc.). - Better LFG Interface - A better "Looking for Group" interface should be added. I'm NOT suggestion a "Dungeon Finder", as I am personally against that idea, but a feature where players can set what they are looking for (Dungeons, PvP, Daily's, Leveling, Raids, etc.) would be a much better system than having to do /who and clicking on the "LFG" button. - Mute Companion Sounds - Sometimes your companion feels like it just doesn't shut up (Yeah, you Robot on my ship). A option in the settings some where should be added to make it so players don't hear companion "world chat" while it is checked... "Excellent! I was just wondering what i could do to please you!". Now you know how... - Minor Bug Fixes - Fixing some minor bugs such as the following: - Warzone wins NOT counting. - Tab Targeting Fixed. - If getting kicked from a Warzone, player is placed to the Imperial Fleet (Imperial Side, not sure if it is the same thing for the Republic) - Players with long loading screens going into Warzones get kicked out if the Warzone has already started. - If being killed in Ilum, and after being releasing, if the player types /stuck, it brings them back to the area they died. When anything from the list is added, or something similar is added, it will be removed from this list. Remember to add your own opinions (Keep it constructive) below. If you agree or disagree, let me know. If you have something you would like to see added, let me know. Again, follow the rules listed above, and everyone will be happy =]
  10. I disagree. Open World PvP is not queing to get into something. At that point it becomes a timed Warzone. Ilum needs a rework to have a real objective in it that gives players a reason to WANT to fight for Ilum, such as unlocking a planet that their faction has access to long as they own the objective in Ilum, or a faction wide stat buff for some things, such as a little buff to each primary stat (Nothing too big), or EXP boost/Credit increase to the faction. Once the other faction takes the objective for their side, the faction who owned it originally will lose their "rewards" and have to fight for it back. In order for a system like this to work though, they would have to add something into Ilum that wouldnt be a constant back and forth thing, but instead something each side had to fight hard to own (Such as fight over a base, kill the base leader, and defend the **** outta that base to make sure the other faction doesnt take it over). tl;dr No, dont kill Open World PvP... This will kill Open World PvP if its turned to a specific time of the day Warzone.
  11. Bump. Leave some feedback, theres lots of complaints, so why not try to actually fix what you want fixed?
  12. I plan on making a post in the PvP section with the PvP suggestions listed there, but keeping this one here hoping to maybe add some other suggestions from others, such as PvE things that need to be changed. I dont PvE at all ever since my last MMO (Got really burnt out), so I dont have much to contribute to that area myself =P
