  1. I find it pretty awesome that your expanded companion ability bar BLOCKS YOUR *********** KEYBINDS FROM WORKING if you've keybound abilities to the bar that gets hidden.

Example: I have alt-1, alt-2, etc bound to various worthless melee moves (I'm a sage) on my left ability bar. If I have my expanded companion ability bar enabled, hitting alt-1 DOES NOTHING.

The companion bar not only visually blocks the entire ability bar, but also blocks the keybinds for that bar.

That is indeed pretty awesome. I call it a feature.

Regarding the OP's issue, I think shadow is looking at 42 class abilities. With a few more slots for usable items and consumables, it's easy to see how he lacks room for things like quest items.

There are obviously workarounds. Opening windows to use abilities. But it's quite feasible that he's running out of space to hotbar the abilities he wants to use.

  2. I don't know about you, but I can't tell you how many times I'm in a warzone and for some reason one or two people don't show up at all in my raid frames, forcing me to click on them to target them (Usually happens when the warzone bugs out and allows one team to have more than 8 people). Sometimes even when they are out in the open by themselves, I will click directly on them 5-10 times before it actually targets them. When playing a tank trying to guard swap, or as a healer trying to throw out a heal to save someone's life, this is incredibly frustrating.

Also sometimes if in a PUG it's hard to match someone to their raid frame with all the crazy titles and legacy names. Sometimes from a distance a player's title may look like their first name, creating extra time for me to go through the raid frames to figure out who they actually are. Not as big a deal when I run with premades, because I know everyone, but even in a premade there are going to be 4 puggers I may not know.

    Same. It's really bad.

  3. Pros:

    Area loot

    Companion crafting

    Companion node looting

    Sometimes the cutscenes are interesting

Heroics provide an alternative to standard questing

    Star Wars

    Cons:

    World isn't very explorable

Mobs aren't very diverse in look or abilities

Quests objectives and mechanisms are extremely simple

My toons feel effective, but not heroic. I'll just inevitably win over and over and over.

Can be the worst (Class X) ever, making all the wrong choices, doing absolutely nothing noteworthy, and the story will still act like whatever you did was amazing - a hero of legendary proportions.

  4. What makes my smuggler all that different? Nothing, the next smuggler after me will star on Ord Mantell and go through the same quest with the same experiences. Then after that they will go to Coruscant and go through the same quests and experiences.

Yes indeed. And the only noticeable difference the choices make are dark/light and companion points. It's natural to feel disassociated with a story that you can't actually impact.

But can you be immersed in a book? Hopefully. And in (most) books you can't change anything about the storyline.

  5. The class stories are different, but do overlap significantly. You're going to mostly the same places in the same order, for different reasons. The non-class quests are exactly the same of course.

I find the fighting to be worse than the quests from a boring and repetitive perspective. Shrugs.

  6. Create content for yourselves.

Have you unlocked all the codex entries? Races, Maps, locations, organizations, person of note, Epic enemies, Bestiary, Lore objects, Ships, Titles.

There's several of each of those on every planet. (not even mentioning datacrons)

You can hold 2v2 tournaments in the pvp section of Tattooine.

You can run several group of 4 man pvp groups through the warzones, and hope that you get guild vs guild groups (insanely fun!)

Dont get me wrong, I do agree that there could be some extra content, but if you havent completed all the nightmare raids, havent gotten to valor rank 100, and havent unlocked the entire codex, you're not "done" with the game.

PS: you can't run all 3 every week, because hard and nightmare share the same lockout.

Haha. Have you walked every road in Hoth? Have you taken screenshots of yourself at the highest point on every planet? Have you leveled to 50 naked? There are always more things to do!

  7. Anyone else ever had this. I have tried it with 2 healers (commando and Sage) and a tank (guardian) and all times I was getting better damage (by a considerable margin) with the healer or tank spec. Not a top level yet (commando 48, Sage 29 and Guardian 19) so the gear especially on the lower ones shouldn't factor in too much.

Anyone else come across this or am I just doing something wrong?

Just doing something wrong. Like wrong powercell in trooper or something. Or positioning approach.

  8. How? I've never seen it. WoW has the same static MOBS, stuck in the same place, for ever.

It does have static mobs. And it has NPCs playing around with each other, lining up, leading prisoners around, patrolling, and just wandering around. Has critters. Has mobs chasing critters. There are a lot of little things happening in that game that do not happen here.

  9. But can someone give me an example of what we're talking about here? I find it hard to expect something out of a game that A) never promised it and B) you can't find in any other game.

Can find more NPC activity in a few minutes of WoW than you'll find in this entire game. Seriously. This game is like a Walmart at 3am to WoW's Disneyland. The difference is striking.

Not saying Disneyland is the best thing. Just saying there's a massive difference in the environment.

  10. "Cake for you, kids!"

"Yay! but where is the candle?"

"Erm, Sorry dear, i forgot to buy, let me grab some fast."

    "Here is the candle. Cheer!"

"But where is Justin Bieber decoration on the cake? Boohooo!!!"

    "..."

In short, dont expect you would get a 7 years contents of WoW right of the bat from a 2 months MMO, it will not ever happen in any MMO.

    Cake for you, kids!

Yay, but this is just flour?

Don't worry, I'll buy the other ingredients sometime!

  11. QFT. The only reason that I can see to complain like he does about the orbital stations and taking the 2 extra minutes to go back to fleet and then back to Tython (unless he has a horrible PC, which I'm reasonably certain he doesn't) is if he has very limited time to play... which I suppose he does.

I can't wait to see what he has to say once he hits endgame. ;)

It's not the time, it's the completely in your face, immersion-breaking nature of this particular transition. They didn't even bother providing a dialogue. Lazy, annoying design.

And yeah, if he ever gets to 50, he'll have a lot worse to say.

  12. Winning > everything else.

I get pissed off if I loose, even if I end up on 1st place with 15 medals.

Guess you're just not a competitive player op.

Perhaps winning for him is accomplishing his objective - growing his character. He's noticed he may win more by not pursuing BG objectives.
