  1. I recently convinced a friend of mine to pre-order TOR, and to go 1/2 in on a gift copy for a friend of ours that was also interested in playing. I gave my friend cash, he chipped in the rest from his credit card account for our friends' copy. After our orders were placed and we downloaded the game client, 2 days post-launch we were forced to agree to pay more at a later date or be denied access to a service we had already paid for (30 free days of gameplay w/copy). This is unacceptable. Furthermore, upon attempting to subscribe my friend's credit card was rejected by the TOR website for insufficient funds. Why so, when he was to be charged at a later date? Upon reviewing his credit card balance, my friend was shocked to discover that he had not been charged for 2 copies of the game, as he had pre-ordered (one for himself, another for our friend), but for FOUR copies. Due to this billing error, my friend was denied access to a game he had wound up paying DOUBLE for. You see, the overcharge drained my friend's bank account. To zero. This was 3 days before Christmas, mind you. My friend is an Iraq combat veteran who now lives on a fixed income (disability). He has 4 children to take care of. And when Bioeare/EA made this billing error, it directly affected his Christmas- he had no money for gas or groceries for the remainder of the month. After filing a ticket with the TOR website, he was told the TOR website could not resolve his issue. After filing a ticket with EA's Origin site (the site from which he pre-ordered) he was AGAIN told that Origin could not help resolve his issue. In the end, my friend was out $240 for two copies of the game. And can't even play for the 30 days that were included FREE with his one copy. I personally know 5 people that either quit, unsubbed, or refused to even redeem their game code (I myself being counted among them) because of this hideous oversight. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I realize that this particular incident involves several different elements (denying players access, overcharges, failure to provide support for a billing ticket, proximity to a national holiday) but something tells me my friend probably wasn't the only one out there that an incident similar to this has happened to. Has anyone else known someone that faced a similar issue? Why hasn't my friends issue been resolved? Where did his $120 in overcharges go? Why isn't he getting that money back? Bioware-EA- what are you going to do about it? Let your customers and my friend of 14 years get ripped off? We heartily await your response. Signed, 5 very disgruntled customers
  2. I'm cancelling because I have been denied access to a game I paid for, that (supposedly) came w/30 days of gametime. 2 days post-launch, I have to have a subscription or a game time card to log in? To play game time I already bought? Appalled. My friend bought 2 copies (one for him, one for a friend) but his debit card was charged for 4 games. That drained his account, not only can he not subscribe to keep playing (the site rejects his debit card) he can't afford gas money to go see his kids on Christmas now. My friend is an Iraq combat veteran. He lives on a fixed income (he messed his knees up and is on disability). Furthermore, this site (swtor.com) will not solve his issue (you'd think it would). I told him to try going through EA's Origin site, I hope he gets it worked out. Bottom line, he paid $120, for 2 copies, and can't play. AFTER 2 DAYS. Can't get his $$ back to him in time to even see his kids, let alone play. Bioware, Origin, whoever's really running the show, I've cancelled due to this debacle. My friend refuses to play, even IF he gets his $$$ back. The friend he bought another copy of the game for refuses to play. And so does my brother, whom I bought a copy for. SHAME on you, for crappy customer service and being outright GREEDY by wanting us to sub to a game we've played for 2 days so you can say you're 'the fastest growing MMo w/e' less than a week after launch. Couldn't that have come after the year? I PAID FOR MY GAME AN CANT PLAY screw that, I'm OUT
