  1. Hey! I haven't played this game since a few months after launch. I've started to level again and I can't help but think that Force Pull would be awesome to have. Is there a way for me to still have FP and still do some decent damage? Assuming that's not a possibility what kind of specs would be fun to go? Please don't link me to reddit. I can't access it.
  2. If you work, have a family, go to school etc there is still no reason for someone not be 50 yet. This game is amazingly easy to level in. The thing that frustrates me the most is some people log in twice a week for 2 or 3 hours and think they are casual. This is like... SUPER minority casual. How long is this time frame to be considered "rushed to 50". Is it when you hit 50? When the majority of your friends hit 50? Most people I know who are casual are 50 now. The lowest level of any guildie i have is 37. He can only play on the weekends: so... Friday-Sunday.
  3. The surrender option is a good idea after say 5 minutes pass. Though I think the best solution is to offer a reward to teams that finish early. For example, you farm a team and theres 10-12 minutes left, scores 0 - 5. Give an incentive such as additional valor, say 15% of valor earned. It makes the grinding a team does in a day much faster. It allows teams that do get farmed a reprieve.

  5. The assassin makes it sound like its rogue-ish. We are not rogues. We are nothing like rogues. Deception assassins have decent burst in only a few situations. Wraith works perfect for what we are. Stealthers with a the cold touch of violence, aptitude for apocalyptic casting, and the ability to make impacts as a tank.
  6. I hate seeing these posts. 90% of the time I'm sure they dont follow their own advice. Furthermore, I've not seen one logical well thought out post by any scoundrel or operative regarding a counter to this. It either does too much damage or it doesnt. My guildies were talking about this very thing earlier today. "Trinketing" the knockdown doesnt do much if you get hit for half your health with the first hidden strike. Keybindings arent going to help you here. Show me a non-scripted video of keybindings or anything else being the gamebreaker here. Oh right, no one can provide proof. Not if half or a quarter of your health is gone there. It's just not realistic. Then vanish and hidden blade again. You're at 30% health, again being generous. You either need to kite, pop some consumables, or crit hard. My favorite part about this discussion is Scoundrels and Operatives think they arent OP. The majority of other players do. Clearly everyone else is wrong.
  7. I enjoyed WoW PvP alot. Every aspect of it was fun. I probably enjoyed World PvP in places like Tarren Mill, EPL, Silithus, Elemental Plateau, Wintersgrasp, and Told Baard the most. I also enjoyed my time rank grinding. Battlegrounds were amazing... Each with their own strength. I had my share of success in arenas. However there were many problems with the system that were never addressed and because of that the arena system fell out of favor in my eyes (despite the fact that I felt it was the only way to go about getting rewards). This is a good idea but only with the understanding that arenas will NEVER!!!!!!! grant better pvp gear then what is available for warzone ranking. It's a cool idea to grant mounts, pets, social items, etc. The problem with implementing an arena system: PvPers, much like their PvEer counterparts, want something for their efforts. Players might play for titles alone but the majority of players would probably want a unique set of gear and most likely more than that. Secondly, the arena system created a rift between PvPers. Terms like Battleground hero were coined for those players who may have been skilled but didnt like arena. The PvP community in general is often extremely abrasive towards one another. Some people may not view this as a problem but the elitism quickly became tiresome. Lastly, but perhaps most important: The game is not balanced and homogenized like WoW was. Certain classes will struggle alot more versus another class. I do not want to play another game where everyone has to have similar abilities. For example, now every class has a Mortal Strike effect. For this reason alone, is why class composition will play a significant role in determining the winner of a SWTOR arena system. Personally I thought this was one of the best ideas they ever had in WoW. They just took too long to implement it. A game of two amazing premades held alot of depth in terms of strategy. The rated battleground system was not well thought out but it had so much potential. I think alot of people successful in arena were upset that they felt people not deserving of gear got it and that may be. However, I've seen plenty of matches that I felt were much more interesting than any arena match I ever saw. Most people I know were tired of arenas. After 4-5 years of broken teams, comps, and items it gets old. Arena was stale and no amount of new arenas or changes would fix it. As I said above, many people didn't like arena or would have preferred to do something else with their time but had no other choice as thats where the gear was earned. I would love to see everyone get their way. I dont think it's realistic though. This game isnt like WoW and the changes required to make an ideal system revolve around a minority of players. If it is implemented good for you. I would probably participate but after Season 4 or 5 I "grew" out of arena. Tired of the bickering and negativity surrounding the entire thing. Tired of player matches, losing one game and spending the rest of a night digging yourself out of a 15 point hole.
  8. This guy knows what PvP is all about. It's not about purples. It's about having fun with your friends. The gear and titles are bonuses but should never be the reason for pvping. The music industry has a name for people who do things only for rewards: Sellout.
  9. Where is the thumbs up button? Yeh, my shocks hit for about 4.3k

    Valor rank 41

I got all the pieces I wanted at valor 55. At the time I got 3 doubles. Got my weapon last and ended up spending my commendations on a Centurion lightsaber. About a week later I got the champion lightsaber.
  11. No. They became welfare epics when the system that was originally very hard and time consuming, 2 and a half to 3 months, was nerfed down to a set amount of honor you had to earn. The old system was fine because even if you afk'd for 3 months or longer to get the best gear (that wasn replaced around the time AQ40 came out) most people that got it honestly via PvE already had on par gear. The problem with gear with no PvP stat is how do you balance it without affecting PvE? Alot of people would say just load it up with endurance. But then why would a PvE'er not just use PvP gear with extraordinary amounts of health on the gear? Personally I really like the Experise stat but I wouldnt mind something a little different. I'm not really sure what else I would suggest so until that's found this is fine.
  12. Of course there will be and a large majority of the player base will conform to the success of others. Alot of people will argue with me here but we all know someone who's attained some e-fame because they have a comp thats difficult to counter. This was the most horrible season of them all. Did you even play in it? I sure did, in 2s and 3s. This is a vast majority of what I remember: Restodruid overpowered 45 min games. Lawlifebloom. 4 pc pve/pvp rogues. No season 4 may have had different comps but they were largely populated by classes that were overpowered. And to be fair if this comes out thats great, I hope everyone has fun. But it will create a rift in the community. And I know it says here that there should be no rewards but someone is gonna cry and think they deserve a title or some special item. This isn't WoW. It will never be WoW. The moment this game turns into WoW with stressful, barely fun PvP mechanics or activities is the day I stop playing. I hope this project works out for you guys but nothing good will come of it.
  13. Only if it was like AV from vanilla. Hard NPC liutenants. The kind where you need at least 5 people to kill. The kind where you need goo gear to kill. The kind where even someone in the best pvp or pve gear cannot solo regardless of class. Hard bosses that require either massive zerging or coordinated attempts. The kind that supports the defender rather than the attack. The kind of warzone that has the potential to last an hour. None of this, "lets race to the end garbage." If you want fast warzones, queue for in the normal queue for huttball, civil war, or voidstar. Make this something that will last awhile. Reward people for their efforts, so the time spent in the warzone makes sense.
  14. You know the biggest problem with arena in WoW, which would certainly be the problem here, is that comp would almost play as big a role as player skill. The only way to get around this is really to normalize classes which makes the gameplay boring.
