  1. He actually makes a competent healer, if you gear him right. When you get him, he has no gear. However, talk to your friendly neighborhood Cybertech and get good gear for him, focusing on tech power. Do note that he cannot equip any weapon, so when he isn't healing he'll (attempt to) go Chuck Norris on mobs.
  2. Rift uses a "tree-and-root" approach...you spend your talent points at the base of the tree, and as you progress UP the tree, you gain abilities DOWN in the roots.
  3. Open up your character sheet and mouse over the Accuracy number...it'll show you precisely what your Accuracy is doing for you.
  4. EMP is good for when you are under heavy attack and your shields are gone. Pop EMP, switch to shield regen mode, and use missiles to take out targets. By the time EMP expires, you should be at nearly full shields and ready to switch to blaster mode. It isn't listed anywhere, but EMp has a three minute cooldown, so you can use it more than once on longer missions.
  5. If you lost your saber (and it isn't in your inventory), you can get new sabers from quest rewards or from vendors. You might not be able to get a custom saber for a bit, unless you already have a decent stash of credits, but non-custom lightsaber will work well enough until/unless you replace it with a custom one.
  6. And the sublight engines for a .0008% increase in efficiency?
  7. Not only that, but if you buff another person, and they have group members nearby, those group members will also receive the buff.
  8. Assassins and Shadows are "avoidance" tanks. They work not by absorbing ludicrous amounts of damage but by avoiding or reducing it as much as possible. They have various abilities to reduce force/tech damage, increase avoidance, and their skill tree buffs their tanking stance to both avoid hits, reduces the damage from a hit, and/or grants some kind of bonus when hit.
  9. Blizzard didn't implement a limit on the number of mobs affected, they simply made it so that the AoE would do full damage to 10 mobs, then would reduce the damage per mob for every mob over 10. Here, the ability specifically states the AoE will hit 5 mobs, so 5 mobs will get hit for full effect; other mobs past that will be unaffected.
  10. Using any ability that has a "cast time" (that is, it takes a small amount of time for the ability to trigger after you push the button for the ability) suffers from "pushback" whenever you are hit while casting the ability. Pushback is where the amount of time to finish the ability is extended by some amount (you'll notice on the cast bar that the progress jumps backwards when hit). Reducing pushback means you don't lose as much time on your cast whenever you are hit in combat.
  11. Legacy names follow the same convention as regular names; what names were you trying that were called invalid?
  12. It's not the accidental "oops, I happened to enter your AoE"...it's "i wanna make this person flag for PvP so I can attack them"
  13. Actually, the cost goes to zero after a week of no respecs.
  14. The easiest way is to go to the Imperial Fleet. If you are on Hutta, just take the shuttle to the fleet, and, once you exit the hangar bay, you'll see a quest giver on your right. If you are on Dromund Kaas, make your way to the fleet ship, then head over to the Korribsn/Hutta departure elevator (right side of map) to find the quest giver. There is a quest giver somewhere on Dromund Kaas, but I don't know where.
  15. Serapin Assault bonus mission to destroy engines and shield generators is available at level 36. I don't know about before that, but I'm thinking not.
  16. If, however, you chose to play a Consular and she a Knight (or vice versa) you would still get to help each other out in stories AND get to see two different stories at the same time. Most class quests send you to the same relative area, so it isn't difficult for two classes that start on the same planet to level together.
  17. I've done this before. I paid 60k (which I felt was a fair price) for the Cybertech level 50 speeder schematic. A week later, I saw the same schematic posted for 9k. I started to get upset that I paid so much, then realized I could buy the schematic and relist it at a significantly higher price (basically covering most of the cost I spent buying the one for my personal use). Sure enough, someone bought it at the higher price. Sometimes people will do this because they don't want to see the economy crash because people are way underlisting items (either unknowingly or intentionally). The server I'm on is one of the least populated servers, so we have virtually no economy to speak of, so I try to do what I can to help.
  18. EA explains lack of SOPA stance by Alexander Sliwinski on Jan 17th 2012 11:00AM 47 Responding to a Reddit reader, Electronic Arts corporate communication head Jeff Brown has detailed the publisher's lack of position on the "Stop Online Piracy Act" (SOPA). "EA has not expressed a position on SOPA," Brown wrote in the letter, noting there was confusion over the holiday about the company's stance on the bill. "We never supported so, naturally, never withdrew. We tried to correct the record but there is still plenty of confusion." "The game industry's representatives in Washington, Entertainment Software Association, has expressed support for SOPA ... OK true, EA is a member of ESA, and ESA supports SOPA, but we don't think that implies our support. Among ESA members, some support, some oppose, some take no position." SOPA is currently shelved while the House "address outstanding concerns and work to build consensus." http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/17/ea-explains-lack-of-sopa-stance/
  19. Also, run Esseles (Republic) or Black Talon (Empire) Flashpoints (dungeons) for a chance at one dropping.
  20. In swtor, orange means customizable, not legendary (just to help you learn the terminology). You can purchase customizable lightsabers from vendors, get them as quest rewards, and many other places. Just keep your eye out for them
  21. Check this thread for info on Legacy: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=163936
  22. You can target your companion by clicking the companion's picture at the lower right. And, I believe you can keep your companion targeted and use offensive abilities, which will be applied to your companion's target (although that may require setting an option).
  23. Odd...I have 5, allowed to send out 3 at a time, and I regularly send out 3 of those I'm not currently using on long missions while questing with a 4th. Perhaps there is a hard cap of 5 useable companions (since the ship droid is meh) Have you tried sending out 5 companions while one not being sent is already summoned?
