  1. I have made no claim at being awesome at mmos. I have cleared my share of content, and I do believe that this game has plenty of room to grow in difficulty (just as WOW has done...which in that case has been a rollercoaster in difficulty throughout its existence). What I think is foolish, is to compare the first operations in this game against the hardest raids in previous MMOs. And you are right, there were numerous guilds that took down nightmare content down extremely quick in this game. Did the guilds just form up for this game? NO. Have they been playing MMOs for a long time, most likely yes...thus the team synergy was already there. So if it is not as difficult as the current content they are running in games such as WOW, then it will seem like a faceroll to them. My point is this, if you have not completed the content, you have no right to comment on its simplicity imo. It would be like me stating that being a quarterback in the super bowl is a piece of cake. How credible would that sound?
  2. MC wasn't even a gear check and could be cleared easily in blue/green gear. How is this content any different than the initial content in WOW (in terms of simplicity)?
  3. cleared by either of you? Or do you just group yourselves with players way above your caliber?
  4. I'm tried of looking at the general discussion forum and seeing people complaining about this game being "TOO EASY", like they are some sort of Bad A** in the video game world. Congratulations, you can do EV and Karagga's on NORMAL MODE...YOU ARE SOOOO GOOD AT GAMES...you have managed to beat the game's entry level operation on the easiest difficulty. Normal mode is supposed to be easy...MMOs are catering to casual players by doing this, so the larger populace can at least see the content. For hardcore players, SWTOR offers you nightmare mode (hard mode lies somewhere in the middle in difficulty). Then again, you say "That's too easy too!"...but you know what I don't see....SCREENSHOTS or VIDEOS from the people posting on here. Show us your screenshots/kill videos for a full 10/10 nightmare mode run. When you have done this, then you can come on and discuss why you think the game is easy...but if you are only 10/10 on normal or hard mode...keep your pretentious opinions to yourself. So, for those of you who have completed 10/10 nightmare mode, post here with your vids! P.S. - I do agree that it would be nice to see additional mechanics added for Nightmare that aren't included in Normal Mode, but this is the first set of operations for this game. For those of you who remember playing WOW back in Vanilla...Molten Core was not that difficult. There were only a couple of mechanics on each fight. The biggest difficulty in those raids, was getting 40 intelligent people (really only needed 30 intelligent), and learning how to raid as a group overall. Many came over from EQ to play WOW, but most did not come from a MMO background. Nowadays we have many more players with "not standing in fire" as being second nature to them. Remember that this wasn't always the case and has been ingrained in us over the years. It is the reason why harder content with more mechanics seems easier to us now.
  5. I can't tell if you are trolling... You are basing your EXPERTISE on the matter off of hearsay and your experience at level 44...using comparisons against other level 44s. We don't tell you people to level to 50 and then talk to us about the class to be jerks...we tell you that because you have no real basis for our potential as a class. Whether you want to hear it or not, it is the player, NOT the class. I have tanked all the hardmode flashpoints and done so without problems. I have tanked and beaten all normal mode operations as well as 4/5 hardmode ops. I have yet to see a situation where I have not shown to be the best option as a tank for the group. I have seen what other tanks can do, and our cooldowns are far superior. On hardmode content, my healers have left me without a heal for extended periods of time due to my defensive cds, mitigation, etc. That way they can focus on healing the group without having to worry about the tank. Does it sound like I have any issues with my classes capabilities? Skill is important, Gear is important, and an understanding of your rotations to maximize mitigation is important. When all three of these things come together...Juggs are extremely powerful tanks. The only complaint I have about Juggs, is our snap threat. We need a few hits to get a hold of a mob, where some other tanks have quicker threat generation. But like I said earlier, we can take more of a pounding...so if that means I need to take 2-3 swings at a boss before everyone goes balls in, then so be it. If everyone jumps the gun and hits the boss with their strongest ability first...no worries...I have a single target taunt and an aoe taunt to pull his attention back to me while I build that threat.
  6. It makes sense to me why they would have a hard time changing it to a 0 cooldown. The entire class is designed to generate a certain amount of rage per second. If they removed the cd, then the class would be able to generate rage outside of the boundaries of the original design. Then the class may have to go through extensive balancing issues. Why they didn't design it in the first place without a CD...who the heck knows. I think it should replace assault for immortal tanks.
  7. I have yet to be turned down either a raid spot or a spot in a pug flashpoint. Now that is from a tanking perspective. As for the dps juggs....i'm sorry. I would be hard pressed to bring you in my raids, when I have solid range classes as options. The endgame is more complicated with an abundance of melee, and there are better melee options than a dps jugg. I think bioware made a dps spec at the last minute when their original intentions were for the juggs to tank. I think they did the same thing with Powertechs...The dps version pulls too much aggro and does less dps than a merc. If you have no desire to tank with a jugg, you will want to play something else until bioware makes melee/dps juggs more desirable in end game content.
  8. I've never had a problem with dailies. It is the player more than the class. If you are running in lvl 40 greens, then yes, I imagine that LVL 50 quests might cause you grief. If you are 50 blues, then it should be easy. Go to the GTN, grab some gear. Pvp, get more gear. THEN run hard mode FPs, get more gear...etc.
  9. I have no idea how you all play, but I'm damn near indestructible. In endgame pve (all normals cleared, 4/5 hard mode) I handle damage much better than other tanks. My CDs are superior. In questing, I have Quinn geared to the teeth and can easily handle heroic 2+ content. Dailies are a joke...no idea how someone would struggle. I am tired of hearing the pouting. We do very well in pvp as well. It takes the whole damn opposing team to bring me down. I'm very well geared though. The game was tougher when I had crap gear. We are very gear dependent, but very powerful when we have it. Also, you must know correct rotations for damage mitigation. If you spam buttons, you will take unnecessary damage.
  10. I find it hilarious how many people are against the idea of min/maxing. If you are in a hardcore guild and don't want to min/max, then get the **** out. No one needs you there. If you are not already of the mindset of min/maxing, then you probably aren't on the same level as the other players (exceptions always exist). It sounds to me like you would like a more casual guild. There are guilds for everyone in this game. Don't expect to be in a hardcore guild and get to do whatever you want (Have your cake and eat it too much?). You can tell your guild leadership to suck it, but unless you can think of a viable reason why your crew skill benefits the progression of the guild more than biochem, keep your whining to yourself and leave your guild like a mature adult. No clue why so many have issues with hardcore raiders. The one thing that comes to mind is that at some point you were ridiculed for being a poor player by a hardcore player. This hurt your feelings and now you forever have issues with people who min/max and get enjoyment out of being the best on the server/US/world. Grow up. If you don't want to play professional football, don't play on that kind of team. Get the damn ball and go outisde and play a game with your friends.
  11. There is a skill curve on this boss. You must have good dps and a good healer. I have killed this boss on hardmode 4 times so far. The first time was rough trying to figure out what we wanted to do, but now we one shot him easily. Everyone stays spread out for nades (5m+ i believe is necessary). You need an interrupt rotation on the healer and everyone kills healer first. You need 3 interrupters to ensure that he doesn't get a heal off. Once the healer goes down, dps immediately gets on massey. The tank does not chase Massey around, he just stays on Jorland (doing the most damage he can). If the tank chases Massey around, then he will surely take nade damage when he gets too close to one of the dps or the healer. When killing Massey, make sure you stay spread out. I would not recommend more than 1 melee dps on this fight. Once Massey is down, you will not have much time until enrage. Blow everything you have and kill Jorland. It is a dps race, you cannot stand on top of each other, and you cannot miss interrupts. If enrage is happening, your dps is not doing their job, or interrupts were not done correctly.
  12. Spent 2 hours on Revan alone last night. I tanked it and my gear is fairly good and should be perfect for Hard modes (Half 50 epics and the other half 49 epics or 50 blues). Beating him is complete RNG. This needs to be fixed. I have no idea how this fight passed Quality Control. I haven't complained at all about this game thus far, but the bugs with the final bosses of BP and Foundry need to be fixed ASAP. If a patch hits and these haven't been addressed, I will be very disappointed. It holds the empire players at a standstill.
  13. Im dark side 4 right now and my pure blood went from red to mostly white...so you won't be pink forever
  14. I am having mouse problems currently. I have a MX Revolution and my buttons are bound to keys like page up, page down, and \. I try to bind these mouse keys, but it won't work in SWTOR but it works in WOW. Any ideas what the problem is? Would another mouse be more compatible? I don't want the 1-9 keys bound, and would prefer to use other keys.
