  1. Not seen the issue myself, but would be clever if the game checked fps periodically and temporarily reduced settings if needed. I'd start with anti aliasing myself. Tends to have a far bigger performance hit than people give it credit for, and the most negligable visual impact. Perhaps when you log in, immediately check fps then every few mins check again, retaining the lowest number on your account. When you next log in, if your fps was poor, mention it and propose changing some of your settings. This takes the management aspect away from the less savvy players too.
  2. I'm curious what the real goal is here. If it's for flavour, you can pretty much say what you like. In regards to the wider ethos, either you're on board with the whole evil dominion and greed thing, or you side with the fight for freedoms. That or you sit somewhere in the middle. To be honest I've not picked "bad choices" with my republic character, but I would have expected it to cut off in the "middle". I wouldn't have thought that someone inherantly bad should be in the republic and if you're that dubious, you'd belong in that grey spot in the middle, along with the hutts.
  3. If you guys want something that's different, why not ask for full on Robots? They could use a different category of armor parts ie Mechanical. We all know that there are lots of interesting droids, jawas, sand people etc. In terms of attacks, they have lots of attack animations coded in already for droid models. They could certainly add some more, repurpose shielding, electricity attacks etc, provide buffs to skills ie slicing, scramble or short other mechanicals, bring in drones or activate defenses. Some areas might use droids to crack doors etc. As far as variety goes, there's all manner of fun there from heavy duty bruisers to fast wheelies, gun walkers etc.
  4. Go on.. do it. Let them have more than one partner. Then introduce a story element where they find out and there's a bloodbath and the character gender gets changed to genderless.
  5. Note: This interface might show: Current tier and rewards Targets for the other tiers Current guild xp Though I've suggested Gold, Silver and Bronze, the system could just as easily have additional rankings ie one for the top 3 guilds, one for the top 10% etc. Just remember to give only the rewards from the current tier out, unless you're going for an accumulative award, but that tends to result in too many rewards with lots of tiers.
  6. I actually get this, hence my post just now (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=985603). The thing is, I don't think it's a bad idea to have competition and a system where top guilds can strive for better rewards, but there are limitations for even them in the current system. If the top 3 guilds target a system each, even the 4th place guild fails to achieve anything consistently. It does make the system fall far short of being something that adds value for the wider community, and let's be honest, there was never good design in a system that provides content for 1% of the player base, at least not when it comes to trying to retain players. I don't think we should take the competition elements away, but they should be opened up in a manner that retains a rank / reward system but allows more players to make some sort of achievement progress if they work on it. Hence my suggestion that they change the system to tiered. They might reward the top 1 with a bonus, but ideally (for example), the top 25% should get Gold, the next 25% Silver and the next 25% Bronze. This still potentially excludes guilds with 1 or two members, but rewards 75% of guilds and gives an incentive for the tiny guilds to club together.
  7. Hi, I've noticed that the conquest system has some big limitations. Looking at even the low reward system, we have a massive guild with hundreds of millions in first place. The next contender is in the tens. This system is pointless for the vast majority of playsers, so I'd like to propose a revision that makes the system more accessible and rewarding for the majority of players while still encouraging competition: 1. Keep the 3 system tabs 2. Within each system, have 3 reward levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold 3. For each system at the start of the conquest period, initialise each "target" variable ie: Top System Gold/Silver/Bronze 3m/2m/1m. Bottom System 3k/2k/1k. Display for each system: Gold - CURRENT Target, Silver - CURRENT Target, Bronze - CURRENT Target. 4. You already track guild progress towards each system, so periodically (ie hourly?), calculate the 25th, 50th and 75th percentile for all guilds WITH progress on EACH system (individually) over a cutoff amount (ie non zero or > 1000). Set the Current target for each tier on the system to those percentiles. This means 75% of all guilds should be able to achieve a reward. Obviously, reduce the lower reward amounts. A very small, weak guild may focus all their efforts in the lowest tier system, making almost any guild able to unlock at least one reward.
