  1. Are you sure you didn't get the required up-to-date answers in the search engine just because you strategically avoided using terms like the current major patch number - like 4.0, in an attempt to try winning an already lost argument? I mean it's obvious you need to get some dating indication if you want the search results to be about up-to-date matters... Also if you search for pve gear used in warzones, those should help your search engine too. I also didn't say gathering all the info was easy, i just explained to you that the genre is more popular with the geeky folks, since the amount of info is pretty vast. What I said was easy/basic was the math you need to do to understand where you are. Adding, multiplying, fractions and percentages are basic math. No one is requiring of you to solve difficult equations or advanced math. And if you play the game , it's obvious no one requires of you to do any sort of math... all I said is that if you do it you'll get some advantages from the game - most like real life things work actually. e.g. You will never get the best price on what you buy if you don't study the market prices and don't do a bit of basic math to see how you should spend your money. And yeah, if you don't have trouble with advanced math but you don't want to bother with the basic stuff, the problem lies with you. My intention was not to insult you. I was just stating the "real" facts as I've gathered them from what you said and your attitude towards putting a bit of effort into gathering knowledge and using the brain utensils mostly everybody was gifted or taught. I'm again telling you these games are more complex then the usual kind - they are made to try simulating a bit of the real world and give you the liberty to do more then a xbox controller and a linear adventure story can offer. As for your last paragraph, I'll remind you I said the long term players aka those that don't only come and go. And if you don't understand why they only stay a little time and leave, I'll tell you. Because they don't get informed, get frustrated about content they cant fully immerse in or understand, or about others that can do things they can't and so they can't make the most of the game just because they are not interested enough to feel like getting informed. So ask yourself, which of the groups are you in? The ones that really care about what's happening in the game, or those that only come to check it out and leave for various reasons like not caring enough, or getting frustrated cause they lack knowledge? If you want to stick with the majority it's your choice, but it won't get you any favors. And if you think I'm a bully you would be pretty much wrong. I rarely use harsh words and it doesn't give me any satisfaction if I really feel the need of using them. If I did it in this conversation was because you were so certain that just because you didn't know the stuff, and just because you didn't want to gather info that was actually released and could be obtained from various sources pretty easily, all/most of the others should be the same. You also refused when people were trying to offer you solutions to your problems. And I really wander, if you're so present on this forum thread, how come you're also saying you don't read forum threads. Instead of being here and trying to prove to others things that are far from inspiring good life attitude, shouldn't you be more interested in the threads from which you could really gather the information you need?
  2. They say "google it" because this is something where you need to read some amount of text to get it, which is why in-game chat is not really the best and easiest way to do it. You do a google search and you get your answers fast. You don't need to shy about it, nor it's something that requires that much effort, even your kids could do it. I also said, it's not a barrier. It's basic math. A middle-schooler shouldn't have any trouble with the level of math you need for the game. I'm telling you, if you want to deal with less math and in-game research there are other games that might suit your tastes better then the mmorpg genre. This genre is really for the more geeky (no offense to anyone) oriented community, for whom the numbers, adjustments, numbers, and more numbers matter to maximize their play style class potential, optimize time to acquire stuff, to get great deals on trades and GTN trades etc. You don't have to know all those stuff, but if you know them you will get the benefits out of it. Also this is more like what you'd call experience info, but the math required it's very basic. If you want to avoid all this "complicated stuff" and also have a blast there are Star Wars themed action-adventure genre games like The Force Unleashed, which I'm pretty sure you can have a blast with. It's just the way these games work. Some are simple and have an immersive story, others are more complicated with lots of stuff you can do and probably will get you hung up on them only if you manage to get the insides of the system. To wrap things up, the majority of active and long term players (if not all) read forums, blogs etc. and stay informed because for them it really matters. What you are talking about are probably the majority of the people who just try the game and then leave after some days or weeks.
  3. What do you mean if tells you anywhere in game? When you activate you swtor launcer there are always patch notes listed, when they modified bolster to work like this they surely mentioned it in there. They also mention this kind of big changes in blogs and forum feeds. Heck you can just do a google search if you're interested in how some swtor mechanic works, I'm sure you'll get a pretty clean answer. Not to mention you can use the in-game chat or ask someone you know about it or just the pvp/general chat. Math is actually part of everything in games like this. It's not hard math, it's only basic math anyone should know, but it's there. It's not something mandatory, but you'll miss a lot without it. Most like in real life. You need to accept it or try some other genre which doesn't need that much thinking or learning, like Candy Crush or the kind.
  4. This time I had less difficulty to understand what you were saying so props for your text care. I'm not pro with English either but I pay attention and edit my mistakes after careful reading, cause, yeah, it's not my native language either so i make mistakes and typos too. Kind of got used to it after some time chatting in game and so, but there are still times when I feel some nuances of what I write are not noticed cause I haven't chosen the right words for it. This wysiwyg also has typo checker so it's pretty easy to take care of most spelling issues. You should use that. I'll be honest with you, when I started playing pvp Battle of Alderaan, Novare Coast and Void Star felt pretty strait forward to me, so even though I had to learn basic stuff like reading the chat and using the minimap to understand the status of the field, the maps in themselves were pretty easy to understand. Huttball was a bit harder to get and you might need more orientation skills for it and learn to pass and play team wise, but yet again even now after 4 years since launch, pug groups usually have no idea what teamwork in Huttball means. But the rest were fairly easy to learn, the maps are fairly small, it's not much you can mess up with a bit of good sense. When Ancient Hypergate came out, this new map seemed very interesting and well thought. Even though it was objective oriented and you could do some trick to mess up with the pylons, in the pylon activation phases the teams were forced to gather and death match in the mid, which was something really nice since it combined the pvp skill with the field and objective oriented capabilities of the teams. Well that was at least until the healing output went over the top and in the mid usually you'll either get rolled over by the team with more or better heals, or you'll get into an annoying no-purpose stalemate. So what I'm getting is you're problem resides in your lack sense of orientation and wrong battlefield mentality rather then your actual playing skill. First of all always use the minimap, or even the map if you can't figure up where you are or where you're heading to. People usually forget to check on the map and they do stupid things because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Field positioning is important too, but that's for more advanced players (I'm saying this but in pve field positioning if useful or even sometimes mandatory too, so you might try it out after you get more experience - LoS, your back on the wall etc. - they are situational and depend on what class/spec you're playing). Secondly, smart-arse talk-back while you actually don't know what you're doing will get you lots of hate as you could see for yourself. Not sure if you are proud of your replies in that dialog with the one that was asking you what were you doing, but that sort of reply was your undoing. Warzones were created for people to learn basic pvp for sure, but more importantly they were created to stimulate pvp collaboration and that's why they are objective oriented, not death-match oriented. If you just go there and do random stuff, spam dmg everywhere without a focus on someone, or go battle off-node where there is no objective interest, break mezz CCs or other things like this, you'll be usually doing the wrong thing so people will be inclined to ask you "What are you doing?" with the meaning of "Do you know what you are doing? Aka you're not doing what's required of you. You're not helping the team. etc.". If you use a smart-arse reply like "Playing swtor", instead of trying to figure out what you're actually doing wrong, will attract lots of hate. It's the same in a Tactical Flashpoint, if someone is messing the mechanics, ask them why did they do that and they replay with something along the lines: "Because I can!". I doubt you'll indulge that sort of attitude. I'm telling you, you might really get better results and less hate if you fix these issues of yours I've listed above instead of victimizing that you're a pve player so it's normal to have no idea about pvp.
  5. Well if you find her online, you know her name, ask for a duel and you'll probably get one or some... just hope she's not wasting time with other boring stuff, but it's worth a try. I was told she feels a bit rusty and needs to go for some duels to put her back into shape. Seems it was worth advertising, lol.
  6. Neah, I'm just messing around with my friend... or so.
  7. Yeap, that's what I was going for too. Tacticals are pretty much in the same position as warzones right now. They aren't very hard but still, you can't tell me you'll be able to do it if you're in a group of people who don't know at least the basics of their class and the mechanics of the bosses. If you end up in a group with people like that, you wipe several times and things appear to go nowhere, don't tell me you'll be ok with the people in the group, you'll not quit, or get mad at them, think it's a waste of time or kick them. The only reason you might not do it if you're the one that is usually carried by others throughout the flashpoints or the game content in general - which, from what you say, and how you talk about it seems fairly the case. That being the case it's no wonder you are defending the people that don't put any effort in learning their class and just don't care about other's, more experienced players, opinions. Tacticals and warzones as you say are good ground for learning. If you go there and do nothing, never get the gear, never learn, continue to be the one that's carried by the others, then the problem lies with you, not the ones that don't accept you. Don't forget, most of the pvp player base started from the bottom (myself included - even though I'm into pve content too), they all learned from experience, or got informed from the forums, practiced and got better. If they could do it, you should be able to do it too. I also suggest you stop with the "no right" thing. As much as you have the right to slack off, they have the right to complain. And again, no one want's you to have even skill with them, but you should at least not be useless. I'm not someone how trash talks or promotes trash talk. I believe that has to do with the education and maturity of the people and it's wrong. But I'm sure if you in the first place wouldn't give those people a chance to do it and listen to what I was telling you about in my lasts posts you'll not be anyone's target of trash talk and all those pvp-pve frustration inside you will disappear. P.S.: I also advise you to fix your typo and bad English habit. You'll make it so much easier for people to understand what you have to say.
  8. If you are better, ask for some duels, maybe let me know of the outcome...
  9. I think you are confused about how things are. Look, for your 2nd point this is and was never about pvp or pve. If you are better it's only natural to have more "authority" - if this is what you'd like to call it - in that piece of content. It's not about that they are pve-ers or pvp-ers, it's abot the ones that know how over the ones who don't and need to learn. Also saying BW intended for the unranked to be "unserious" it's like saying one does not need to enter tactical flashpoints seriously, know the mechanics and just be dead meat for you group. You'll kick someone who doesn't do their job or contribute with anything to the falshpoint progression, only slows you down and messes up mechanics and doesn't do any dmg etc. Well, in pvp you can't kick anyone, but if people will be angry & disappointed with you don't be surprised. This was never about about your self proclaimed pve-er status, it was always abot your SKILL in doing the things you need to do when you need to do them and where you need to do them.
  10. You can say whatever you want, in my heart Sively is the best! =))
  11. I nominate Sively for the best Veng Jugg.
  12. If that is so, then why would it be wrong to actually don't get any benefits - like M1-4X - until your actual limited skills improve. You say you "decided" that you want it, but never thought about if you really deserve it. Due to the nature of the challenge only the people who invest some time into learning their class pvp skills should be eligible for the price. It's not like if a pvp-er who "decides" to get the Wings of the Architect (forced example), or Qyzen Fess will just get them without actively participating in pve content. If they just afk or just mess up the mechanics or just auto-attack when making part of your group while fighting a boss you'll wipe weather if it's a WB, flashpoint, or ops and then complain too or kick them out of the group. If you are talking fairness take into account more then your own point of view and then decide for yourself if it is or not fair. As for: it either does not make any sense or what you wanted to say is beyond my understanding capabilities. If the rewards you get there are "unneeded", if it's a place where "lesser skilled" learn a personal form of pvp which only helps your pve - trust me, I have no idea what that should entail - so it's not for pvp, what makes you think that is a place for you. If you neither want to learn to pvp for the pvp sake, not pve, and you are neither interested in the rewards - it's obvious that's not a place for you and you shouldn't get any of it's rewards, since you obviously don't need them and you don't even try to earn them. So if you decide you want to get something, your next step should be to figure out a way on how to EARN it, get the basic skill you need for it, and then try your best to not be a burden for / help the rest in your team. If you manage to do this and succeed "I dare say this problem (pvp-ers accusing you of sabotage or afk-ing) doesn't exist, well there are always the super rare exception, but in general the issue does not exist." You don't have to have ranked skills in pvp, heck you don't even need to be above average, if you call for incomes, use (all) your class abilities smartly stay focused on the game and try to improve your skills while you gain experience from your own mistakes or the enemy way of playing, you'll earn your prices for sure. As for the gear, there are tones of places on the forums where it's mentioned that if you don't have pvp gear, for your bolster to take maximum effect you shouldn't wear your high rank pve gear, but only go - for example in 4.0 - with <190 gear rank. It can be green or whatever. it won't be as effective as when you have the real thing, but if you know what you're doing it won't make you instant kill for the enemy. You'll get around max expertise, but you'll lack set bonus and benefits for augments (if you don't want to augment your trash <190 gear). If you are a team player this shouldn't matter too much.
  13. If I'm not mistaken, in wow and other mmos melee range is even more precise than the 4+ meters it is in swtor, and still haven't heard anyone saying remove melee range...
  14. Well, I guess I din't actually said it the way you did, but I mentioned the core of it in: "it's about how others see you due to the rewards you earned by working hard or just being skilled" (actually what I wanted to point out with this is that people will want look more skilled if they have the rewards, so there will always be those who'll try to get them even if they'll not do it fair and square, just to rise their self-proclaimed prestige) and "pride". As for trash talk and steamrolling to "educate", I can say I didn't had part of too much of these (probably not playing in the time window when the competitions and egos are the most inflated, or just this doesn't happen that much on my server) and even if I did, if words are the only things they can back up their behavior with, they'll just make fools of themselves when it counts, also there is always the ignore options if you don't even want to bother about it. Might be a counter education for them. If it's not they'll get bored eventually if you don't feed them attention.
  15. You say some true things there, but just moving the rewards to a higher tier from unranked to ranked will only move the "bitterness" up to that tier. There are not really that much pve rewards for pve-ers in warzone right now anyways, so why do they do it? It's obvious they do it for some rewards they believe they have a claim on just because they are there. The wrong mentality that one should be able to have things that they don't work for is what's killing the community not the the game reward design. In truth the game reward design can manipulate a bit the tendencies of the players, but will never remove the foundation of it, which are the greed, sloth and pride of people. (lol, just listed 3 of the 7 deadly sins, how religious of me). Pvp is always about comparing yourself to others and the view that others hold on you. It's core was never about rewards in the first place, it's about how others see you due to the rewards you earned by working hard or just being skilled. It's like team sports, people should work together to achieve the same goal. Why can they be civilized as opposed to what's happening here? It's because they don't go there with the mentality that they are entitled to win anything if they don't care about the outcome and don't work towards the goal. Some will say, Pierce is part of the story, so why me a pve-er need to put effort in pvp to get something that shouldn't be there, of course I'll slack off in warzones until I get the required number. And here's your answer. Any of the alliance followers you can get are not story lore bound to be pve. The same way refusing a companion will affect or not your story, the same way not being able to get the influence necessary to impress one by normal means based on your work towards it, not by cheating your way to it and making other people game frustrating, should apply. Nope, Pierce is not a reward anyone should have, the same as for the Solo Kill achievement. To get that achievement you: - either show that you are good enough so you'll be killing the enemy before anyone else comes to help or show everybody that letting you handle that alone will really be a certain win for you and the team and also there will be no repercussions of your actions that will affect the outcome of the battle (which is probably the issue the one that created the tread had in the first place) - either convince 7 other people to join in your battle and help you to get your achievement. You can't expect a pug group to know what is your agenda for the random warzone they are in and also it wouldn't be fair to them to cover for you while you waste your time trying to get kills and achievements and not helping the rest of the team achieve their goal too - Winning. So my general point on this is that even if you pay for the game lots of money you are not entitled to have everything without putting any effort in it. Money will grant you access to that thing, how you get it depends on how you perform. If you don't realize this than you're just bad at money management. The game is a system created this way for everybody to get better as a part of the system, not the other way around. This is the limitation of sharing it's that you need to adapt to the shared environment, not the environment should adapt to everybody. It's the mmo genre issue or style that it can't provide special treatment for you. If you want to get special treatment by the system you'll need to try other game genres - like something single-player. Or even better, create your own perfect game that it's perfect for you and there decide the rules of the system.
