THis. The frist build is like 10 times the mac. and the cost its the same

My server had queues the frist week and a half, then it was very heavy, then heavy, then standar and now its almost light the entire day exept for 3 hours during peak time, I think the mayority of the ppl that are asking for merges or server transfer where playing with their servers at full/heavy/very heavy and now they can't play at all because of their server being at light

the problem is that there are a lot more than 10 servers sufering with low pop. I also agree to a point with bioware opening servers at launch. But now, there it seems that at least 3/4 of the servers are having pop issues, and this is basicaly rly easy to change just mergin those servers or opening free transfers one-way online

If in 1 moth and a half there are no signs of free transfers or mergers you will have a serious problem in your hands. For example I love this game and i want to stay in it and play it through the years to come, but every day i thinking more i quiting and its not just me, my whole guild thinks the same, and 3/4 of your forum members. Bioware you are gimping our gameplay not adressing this issues, i'm sure you want to keep your jobs. Then why you have at LEAST %50 of your clientes saying that they love your game but they arent getting any fun because there is no ppl for it and they are going to cancel because of it, its a basic thing of mmos, you need people to get fun. At least give us something, some information like if you are going to do it, when or how.

Tons of noobs, there are so many ppl that comes here and start taking about things they dont have a clue, just because they heared from the tv or someone. Ppl calling Linux "unix" Just made my day To keep it simple no mac user can say his computer is more Powerfull or faster, more productive or user friendlier than a pc with Windows or linux, the only thing they can say is his computer is prettier.

My pc is faster than any of your macs and probably it cost lest 8gb corsair vengance low timings (one of the best cuality RAM's out there) asus z68 m8v (one of the best cuality Motherboards out there) 2x HD 6970 2gb CF (Reference VGA's tested by AMD with dual bios and 2gb vram) Wester digital 2x 500gb caviar black HD's (same brand of macs) Intel i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz @ 1.2v Half my hardware are the same that apple uses for their macs. But mine cost half of what apple selling it. And you know, WD and Intel dont make special HD's or CPUs for mac, they use exactly the same. So does NVIDIA, there are all build in 3rd party factorys. And all RMA's go backs to the factory to be refurbished and into a mac xD

Once they realize that real time data isnt the end of the world, there isnt going to be suicides or stuff like that. Bioware generaly tooks a long time to notice things, but at least they notice.

At home i've windows with a LINUX and Mac in a Virtual machine, and a mac mini siting in my desktop. at work i have a mac pro server(runing several vms of it) and a PC with Linux & windows. But im a developer not a movie maker. i rly dont know what you are saying when u say "linux on the desktop 2012". But meh. There are apple linces that cost 10 times more than that, and no, xcode doesnt have support for complicated things, like integrating DBs with a phone, calling a SAP RV to get the info on one of your clients and then printing it via wifi/bt/mail. Only if you are making that stuff for apple, but if you are using java for android & BB, php/.net/etc for webservices, ABAP & SAP for RVs and oracle DBs better get a PC. no support for sims other than iphone/ipad, etc.

Macs where more powerfull when they used PowerPC cores Yeap the name of the CPU they used was PowerPC but now they just us intel. Just like any PC does. LOL i was reading wikipedia coz i dint remember it was poweruser or powerpc and i find out APPLE said (2003) they newest mac is the faster personal computer in the world (they cost 75.500u$S). AMD and Intel sued apple because that wasnt true at any level, a 10.000u$s personal computer was faster usen xeon cpu's and linux

You are absoluty correct, but you forgot to mention something a mac can do anything a pc can, but you have to pay a fortune for every little tiny thing you want to do. RuQu, if you want send me a PM with your mail and i guide you step by step how to run a VM with windows inside and istall swtor on it, I don't know how its going to run, but it as you say, you aren a low-core gamer and have a mac trying to play without spending $100 per client. Workstations, gaming, programing, editing, soft development, filing, servers, a *********** BIG ETC. All those things a PC can do it with ease(both windows and linux) Macs Programing ONLY for APPLE, Editing only with Apple soft (2000u$s for a licence, lol) I think he is talking about linux when he mention GUI. Linux has better, faster and more user friendly GUI than apple or Windows, and its free xD

4) my grandmother and granfather(with alzermeirs, rly advanced) have a PC runing windows XP and have no problem sending mails and buying stuff online. Dont know how much user friendly u want it, Doesnt matter if it has a apple or a window on it, you will certenly going to explain things to your elders. 5) a 2000u$s mac is less than half of a 2000u$s PC. And you can run SOFT with a 6+ year old computer coz the soft its compiling its problably made ONLY for this kind of machine and this tipe of config, is ALMOST like saying "See, i can use my FFVI on my PS 1 and it just released this year and has more graphics that prior FFs". I work with both apple and windows i know what im talking about. And the fact that there isnt any demanding SOFT for apple out there. That Sir is false. No mac is "slighty above average machine" when speaking at the same scale of investment. You could get a RLY powerfull PC for 2000u$S while you get less than half the power for the same price but with and apple on it.

RuQu, There are other ways to get bootcamp or other soft that those the same. If i could make eclipse+BB/Android sim on a mac mini not paying 1 more u$S you surely can run swtor without doing so. Mac are vanity items, not workstations or gamer plataforms.Yea sure, you have unix, so does linux, oh sure you have xcode to do some coding at objective-c(c, c++ and i think that php but im not sure about it), and some after effects and edition softs (*********** EXPENSIVE STUFF) in there also. So the reason they are saying that is that if u have a MAC you have it for 1 of 4 reasons. 1 Fanboy 2 Vanity 3 work (editing and programing for mac, thats it) 1 Fanboy? **** then 2 vanity? then go and pay for more vanity soft 3 work? this is the only valid reason to have a mac client. Something i noticed with bioware is that they take a time to see the actual problems. But they eventualy fix them They still aren't sure if there are dead servers, pop imbalances and low pop 24/7 servers. They are creating all this fantantics things, all this new OPS, WZs, Legacy, features, etc. But they are not lookin at the bigger picture, how can u enjoy all this new things that are coming up in 1.2 if there is nobody to play with?. 9pm to 1am there where 50 to 20 players at imperial fleet at my server. But if you look at the bright side you realize that they will eventualy adress the problem and merge servers or implement a cross server plataform for LFD. As things today, lets say, %50-%60(probably more) of the servers have pop problems where you have to wait 1 hour to get a HM going or a OP, wait 15 or more to get into a WZ (that will be hutball %95 of the time). People are going to unsub and those server are going to become more dead. But OH NO there is 1 person that says that his server is OK. WHen asken where he playes the %90 of the time we get "The harmbringer"/"The fatman", Etc... Men i would love to transfer to those servers. What freaks me out is that at the guild summit they told us: a) there will be not a Cross-server LFD tool b) there will be not a server merge for now (they are not planing on it) c) there will be not server transfer until later later this year. So, the only fix is Reroll or unsub untill transfer and they pay it.

PPL u understand this is a PR thing, right? They are not actualy going to say "You know, you are right, we are going to do it first thing tomorow". They are going to probably evade any good question such a "How many ONLINe gamers you have?" or lie. This maybe not the case but i have atended a lot of conferences about programing (like oracle, mac, android and blackberry) and they always evade your question or change subjet. I hope this will not be the case. But there are certain things they are not allowed to say. Such as how pop is droping. Why, if there was extensive beta feedback, they didnt listend. My hats off to Bioware if they dont evade or change subjets or actualy answer more than 3 questions at a time.

No Low pop servers, 1h to get a group for HM or OP. This could be fixed if there where a LFD cross-server tool, but eventualy if SWTOR dont gain any sustancial subs this problem will persist and a merge will be obligatory to keep people playin

i think your idea is a little wrong At swtor there is Light Standar heavy very heavy full at wow there is light medium heavy full So Standar at swtor is less than medium at wow.

Almost all, if not all, EU servers are having pop issues. They are OK at Peak hours for like 1 to 3hs, but then its a ghost town, imposible to get a op going, imposible to get a HM group going, queing for PVP tooks 15 minutes. Dont know if there is a lot of ppl making alters and waiting for new content or what, but the only reason (and I'm not alone in this) im thinking in quiting this game and the only reason i dont log is that there is not a posibility of doing nothing you, bioware, took so long to create. Its ok for every server to be full with queueing at peak hours and i prefer waiting, let say, 15 minutes to login that not waiting at all but once you are inside you have to spam for 40 minutes to get a hm/op going. And after reading almost all threags about did issue it seems that we all think the same, we prefer waitin in line to get into the server for 15 minutes that having to wait for 40 minutes at the fleet for a hm or op and spaming general chat its a disgusting plus. If you are not planing on mergin servers you will have to do something asap, like LFD tool CROSS SERVER (not only HM's but also OPs, PVP, etc) Bioware i love your game i really do, but i dont want to log to spam 20 minutes at peak hours and 40/infite off those peak hours to get a HM or OP group. Its not enjoyable, its not fun and you are losing a lot of ppl for this.

Rly, i love this game i realy do, but the fact that it seems empty for 20hs/21hs a day it makes it realy dificult to enjoy There are to many eu servers

Most of the eu servers are dying of low pop cant get a group for hms, 15 to 25 minutes wait for wz after/before peak hours, forget about ops. Rly bioware if u dont care about eu ppl just say it do we can go and play other game

Before any admin comes and close this thread, read please. At the moment it seems a lot of EU servers are dying because of low pop. For example hex droid once a very heavy server is now at peak time at standar for like 2 or 3 hours then goes to light again. This happens to all eu servers, all of them at peak hours are at standar or light, a lot of ppl i know are quiting not because lack of endgame content or balance, they are quiting becaus technicaly they cant do anything because they arent any ppl to group with. The GM of my guild cant recruit anyone because there arent anyone to recruit. I know that if you plan on server merge you are going to think it very carefully but plz, my guild and i love this game but all we see are dying servers coz of low pop. I think thats the number 1 reason why ppl stop Playing. Last thing i'm going to say is that a lot of my guildmates, dudes in my friend list and ppl in general at eu servers are rerolling in US servers All i see are US servers always very heavy, heavy or standar, 24/7. But EU servers are standar or mostly light 24/7. Personaly i'm thinking of unsubing if this problem persists
