  1. If all your companions are/were OP then you wouldn't mind a nerf? Also why does it have to be with an extreme with you in thinking that just because people don't want their companion to do all the work in new and old solo content that they want this extremely hard game? If you want a super easy game perhaps you can to play a call of duty or playing some wizards 101?
  2. I don't want my companion to beat all the solo story content for me. I shouldn't have to turn off all their abilities. I want to play with my companion as much as the next person. They are a part of my story too. They used to be useful in just filling their role. they were only their to help you craft and assist you in your quests. Not beat the game for you as they are doing now. Companions are more efficient than playing with a second player. I cant remember a time where a companion in any game faces a boss in a story instance and has the ability to do all the work for you. Then afterwards they are completely fine with moving on to the next thing. I have also tried taking away all their abilities and they are still just way too strong. A companion should be a step below playing with a second player not on par or over. BTW my experiences are not with a fully buffed account and i am not talking about level Sync. I am talking about things that are on my level and playing with Kehm he just doesn't die and can tank every hit and every mob. I can clear an instance without even restoring his health. That is just not right. I just want to share my 2 cents and just let Bioware know that this just isn't right.

  4. I think you are miss understanding my point. Companions were fine. Tank companions made sure all the focus was on them. If I didn't either deal with the threat or keep him up then in about 10 seconds he would die. Just like when running with a group of people in a flashpoint. Healers companions kept me up an extra 30-40 seconds depending on the mob for me to do my thing. Now we got companions who don't die when they are supposed to and heal for way too much. Not only that, they are stronger than the player. Also off topic are you saying that you saw how good companions are and you subbed the same day? Just curious. I don't know where this idea came from that we want companions to be useless or we want the game to be like another incarnation of daemon souls. That is not true at all. We just want to be able to feel a sense of satisfaction when playing the content and when we face a boss in a solo story we want to be rewarded from the experience. If you are the kind who wants to automatically win at everything that is not how life works and thank god that's not how 99 percent of video games work. Finally what you are saying about companions before 3.0 is just not true. Companions could survive 1 strong mob even when not geared. They already can take out normal mobs by them selves but they needed your help to keep the chain going. It was fine the way it was.
  5. When the movie comes out, I think alot of people will sit down and enjoy what this game has to offer. I just wish EA loosens the restrictions to F2P and preferred players a bit since they are trying to bring quality story content regularly. I think they should shift the focus on showing value on the content instead of hand cuffing people too much. Just my two cents.
  6. wow talking about getting defensive. Not quite sure what your problem is, but based on your last two postings you are all over the place. If Bioware decides that the problem is with the datacrons and then they put diminished returns on stats for companions than so be it. I am not talking about level Sync here. Personally I love the idea of having my level sync'd so we never face roll content. All my friends like the idea too. A friend of mine is playing the game currently cause he knows at any time i can come by and help him and we both get something out of it. His $15 counts as much as mine does. Our money counts as much as yours does also. Back to the topic at hand though it seems that you don't want companions to change because you don't really want to play a game but instead you want your companion to do it for you. I don't know anyone who would keep giving money to log in and play that. I just played the 2.3 story line and every mini boss got destroyed with Kehm not losing any health. When they heal me then i do not lose any health. Where is the fun in that? What ever happened with playing a game and getting a sense of satisfaction from beating the enemies? it seems a digital novel would be more your thing. But like i said its your 15 dollars too and if you want to advocate making everything faceroll and ruin the fun of other players than so be it. No need to sit alone in your room wishing other people would leave a game that they enjoy. just looking at these forums though a lot of people are unhappy about this.

  8. I have to agree. You may be right about the root of the problem. I have not looked into too much. However, I do know that i took several abilities away from Khem and he is just still too dominant. Judging by that i think you might be right about presence being too high. Also to the other people who say that you can just put them away or to alter my play style and not have my tank companion go first on fights so i get in on the killing, Why should i have to alter what i do? Why should I have to put my companion away. He was fine before the patch. I love the utility changes its just that their combat effectiveness is just too high. As other people have posted the game is easier but all you have done is just made it worse for new players. SWTOR was my first MMO. When i started i didn't know about main stats or crowd control or aggro. By grouping up with some amazing people on here though I learned a lot and they taught me a lot. Don't get me wrong i am not the best player by an means, but what are we going to do when the new players come and they get get through the whole game with these super powerful companions? To the new players that don't like it and want more of a challenge are we to tell them to put the companion away even though the game clearly wants you to travel with them based on the story? To the people that like this and get carried by their companions. What happens when those new players don't learn things as they go like the rest of us out there? What happens when they start using the group finder for ops or HMs? Most of them are going to feel terrible cause they know they aren't doing very much to help and when the other people do nothing but grind stuff out they are not going have a lot of patience. Its just bad all around in my opinion.
  9. You should enjoy them while they are here cause I think they will get nerfed. There is Nothing wrong with them being part of your story but They should not be able to face elites take less damage as me as well as dealing more damage than me. If they do monitor this form just seeing this as a hot topic I wouldn't be surprised if they are looking at this now. I do love the utility though and the customization. Spot on with that Bioware. at this point the more i think about it. The fatal flaw is that you and a companion will be just as or more efficient than you and another player and that just cannot happen. for now I will just enjoy this game as it seems to be a interactive digital novel now.

  11. Ok For a second i will assume that you are right that everyone that might think its too much is complaining and everyone else is playing and they don't care. What about the maybe 65K more people that may try this game when the expansion launches or the other 65 K that tries it when the movie comes out. They download the game and try it and get through everything in 1 month. Why would they sub if they can just beat everything without even pressing any keys? How will it make that new player feel that their companion who is not their equal at least according to the story is stronger than they are? you say its a story driven game.... I agree with you on that 100 percent. you go through 1-55 being fed that you are the only hope for the galaxy. then you hear the music you know some epic boss fight is in near you are getting hyped up and BOOM one epic fight turns into the adventures of <insert companion> with his trusty side kick <insert your name here> I am actually very excited for this new story driven focus on this game as i sense you are. I am not saying lets have another incarnation of daemon souls. That would suck. Also I am not saying lets make our companions useless. I do want a happy medium though where if i do a quest line and face a boss i want the battle to feel like I beat them. Not get to the point where i am tagging along for the ride. Take a look at some of the posts here about people saying that companions are fine. They are saying that they like it because they can play while they watch TV?! does that sound like the type of game this should be? This does bring me back to launch though. I am not sure if you were around for this, but in a developer get together one of the goals of the legacy system was to make you companion so powerful that you can solo early level hard modes. Maybe that was the intention here. Make the end game easier for people. To me though you are killing the very thing you are trying to get people to pay attention too. That being that YOU are the story and you are not just a side kick. Sorry for the long rant.
  12. well its hard to find said post because companions have never been this OP before. People complaining about the Ops grind and the rakghoul event are probably not happy about a lot of things but i think that companions had very little to do with it. Can you point out a thread that specifically says im quitting because my companion sucks? Finally, for your post, check out thread titled "Sorry, but Fallen Empire is your swan song" he mentions it. It is probably as indirect as the examples you are trying to point me.
  13. Can you describe hard challenges? Cause i think in this case its all a matter of perspective. are we saying that if you die once at all then the game is considered hard, or are we saying that if we die multiple times facing different challenges then we are calling it hard? At this point i don't see a situation where you should ever die. thats not me being an elitist but just the thinking that if your tank can kill everything himself before he dies without needing you then where is the threat? I don't remember anyone complaining that the leveling at launch was very hard but at the same time if you pulled too much or fought something that was was out of your scope your companion wasn't the one who saved you. I also think that out of the two( your companion and you) that you should be the stronger of the pair. That's why i think this is really broken. nothing wrong with being accessible but making it so i don't get to kill anything is kind of nuts imho.
  14. Nothing wrong with toning some things down for new players on things like the lower planets until they get in the swing of things, but I don't think he should be invincible. Also why so defensive? am i to take it that you are happy with how things are? I know some people like to watch games instead of play them or maybe watch TV while playing but don't you think this is a bit much? You don't want people to clear it too fast they will just leave and not come back for a year.
  15. Just noticing after coming back from a break that Khem Val is a little too powerful. I noticed this when i was running around and pulled way to much and saw that Khem was able to tank all 6 mobs 2 silvers and 4 trash mobs and take very little damage. After some playing around i found out that he gets a Buff every few seconds that reduces half the damage he takes. The little damage he takes he is able to heal himself back up on his own. I decided to send him after the Monolith in one of the first missions i am playing in Zoist and even on the monsters most powerful attacks he takes next to zero damage. He was able to take off pretty big chunks of health. I always thought that companions were someone you bring along for the ride while you turn into one of the most powerful people in the galaxy, but it seems that I am the companion now??? Just wondering on everyone else's experience was.

  17. Show me 1 video of me throwing a game. Vid or it didn't happen. Bio ware obviously doesn't think so cause i am still here. I've been playing my style of PVP for more than two years now. it may be unorthodox but its effective to me.

I disagree, There is no message in game that says you cannot enter ranked warzones with anything less than conqueror gear. with everything being equal Its actually more efficient to farm ranked commendations as opposed to regular. (shorter match times, easier to get your 8 medals being the key). You can trade in your ranked commendations straight up 1:1 for regular comms. Augments are also not a requirement. Your opinion does not make it a requirement. You can totally do operations without augments. your last point i 100 percent agree with. If you do not like what me and other under geared players playing ranked you should find a group.
  19. No the rewards and the ranked commendations. your cosmetics don't matter since they will just be upstaged by something in the Cartel market a month later. BTW in case anyone in EA/Bioware is reading this i would gladly Pay 30 dollars for a Rancor mount on the Cartel market that is better than the one that is awarded for ranked PVP Sorry know its not on topic but wanted to say it in case you are collecting data for that..
  20. Not sure how this is trolling. All i am saying is that you don't need a huge checklist of things like ranked gear and grenades and stims to rank up in arenas. That is obviously just how the devs intended the game mode to be played or else there would be a gear check on it. Also there would be no rewards since according to people on here you need to be maxed out before entering them. It is just as selfish to tell people to stay out because you don't meet our "requirements" then it is for me to not listen to you. who knows how many players have been scared away with the wrong information that has been posted on other threads. That's OK I'm sure you don't want a influx of new players in ranked because you think it ruins your game play experience. In the end you are being just as selfish as whatever you think i am.
  21. My last post justified my previous post before that one. saying that i play a different style doesn't make my argument invalid. I can be terrible and still observe what other people are like here. People do that all the time in real sports.
  22. When you go to a restaurant you get your own separate table and they don't ask you to eat with other people.
  23. Oh you will be able to decorate it. All you will need is a small fee of cartel coins to decorate it with what they want.
  24. When other people start paying for my or their subscriptions, then i will start thinking about other peoples fun. That should go for everyone that plays this game. if someone would show up to a PVE or PVP event naked then that's not them. Im not going to tell them what to do.
