  1. I left Warhammer Online after the Bright wizards nerf not because it wasnt needed (the class was definitely OP) but because they nerfed it so bad that the class became a joke.

I left Rift because of all the nerf cries being attended. And i will leave swtor if this game becomes a nerf fest.

LOL @ bright wizards being nerfed out of being viable! I played during that whole time and even just recently and BW's are still a very nice dps class. Go play a sorc and tell me how bad the BW's have it with thier ranged KD and kiting abilities that the sorc's don't have. Actually, I don't have anything to gripe about with the sorc either though. The game is very balanced atm and if you don't think so, it's a LTP issue.

As for Rift, I agree with your post. Rift absolutely catered to the QQ's on the forums and payed the price for it imo.

  2. I think some off it is comming from some bad players that hit autorun so they can hit thier keybinds while moving because they can't do both(not all, but I've seen this a lot in this game). I move around a lot for the right reasons listed, but I don't have to put myself on autorun like some of the bads i've seen.
  3. New York City is not small.

It is also nothing in comparison with the population of the United States.

We mainly-PvP players are a vast, vast minority. Do not fool yourself; we're noisy, we ***** a lot, we're hard to please, but we love PvP and when a game has -good- PvP, we call all our friends and recruit them in as well.

Healthy PvP is mostly good for your game because it means that all our forum posts aren't nothing but bile and hatred. We'll pimp a great PvP game out, or even a PvP game that just has the -potential- to be great.

We're valuable to the game's health, but do not be fooled: we are a vast, vast minority. If 5% of TOR's players are heavy PvPers, I would consider that a large percentage.

Have you looked at how many US servers are pvp servers?!? I call BS on your BS post.

  4. Quote:

Warhammer online ruined PVP with the Renown system that highly rewarded the hardcore pvpers who farmed.

I also went back to War once, made a new toon, a WH.

Enjoyed it on the way to endgame. I think i was 40/58 when first T4 RvR for the first time.

I was geared as good as possible at my RR. I was especially proud of my purple Saber, basically everyone at my level was drooling over it.

Not long after entering T4 i got destroyed by a 40/85 (i think that was the highest back then) in less than 3 seconds even though i was in a (small) group with a healer.

Nice thing in War was that they had a combat log where you could also see what weapon destroyed me. Was a dagger with more than twice the dps than my saber (mirror class model, same weapon basically). No idea how the rest of his/her gear was, guess similar in superiority.

This happened so often that at some point the only viable option was to join a zerg and disappear in the swarm like a sardine.

Suffice to say, it was the reason i left that game again.

When i saw the valor ranks, and the associated gear here in TOR i had a bad feeling.

So yeah, i feel with the OP and agree 100%. PvP here is going in the wrong direction.

Glad we have some really good PvE here, and thats where i will park my 38 valor sentinel for a while. See how long that will last.

The renown system wasn't ruined until Bioware bought them out and they up'd the renown from 80 to 100(which by the way, with scaling, made rr80 not even half way there), and put in the uber rr90 and rr100 gear.

  5. Don't compare warhammer's pvp to the pvp in this game. Warhammer at it's worst was 100 times better than the pvp in swtor. Granted this game has a better story, but how many times can you listen to the sidequests before you turn off the voice acting scenes and play it like every other mmo you've played. Actually, if you don't believe me, go try the free trial of warhammer and see for yourself that even only tier one is better than the pvp in this entire game.
  6. I know It's not right to get your money back at this point, but if you know how to go about it you can probably get it done. I did this with Mortal Online, but that game was crap at release and barely worked. First thing is you need to contact them and tell them you want your money back, and after they refuse you need to go about writing a letter to them. You need to include all info about when you bought the game, the receit, why you deserve a refund(unfinished product) and so on and tell them you are sending a copy of this letter to the Better Business Bureau and your lawyer. Then contact your credit card company and tell them this and this should get the job done, if not contact the Better Business Bureau and talk to them.

Comments like this make my blood boil!!

It's because of us 'casual gamers' that you even get to play this game, you moron!

I don't know the numbers, but lets say there is 1.5m subscribers. Of that, say 10% are 'hardcore MMO players' (), so thats 150k. Do you REALLY think that EA would bankroll a game to the tune of $200m just for 150k basement dwellers?!

If you think that, then you really have lost all grasp of reality! I suggest you take a nerdrage pill and maybe go for a walk in that big outdoor world!!;)

THIS discredits anything you say after.

  8. ummm... not even close my friend.

There were people with Warpforged gear around 3 weeks - a month after the patch came out.

yeah, and they were rr80 when the patch went live. They had 20 lvls to go and a month was extremely fast. There are still people trying to get to 100, actually far more people that have played for years that have still not gotten there than there are of those that have.

  9. In Warhammer anni/invader/warlord were arguably better than sov for certain classes (before they changed sov up)

Though LotD did have the same, if not more, retarded gear system (hooray, tyrant/glyphs drops for a class OF WHICH NONE ARE IN THE INSTANCE)

I'm not talking sov gear, I'm talking warpforged gear @ rr100.

  10. LOL at all of you that actually think this is a gear grind. I've never seen it be sooo easy to get purple gear in an mmo ever. You should have played aion or warhammer(where it took at least 75 ingame days just to be able to get final gear). Yes, that is about a quarter of a year ingame if you don't want to do the math. This is way too easy imo, people are gonna get bored in a month when everyone is completely geared out with not much left to do.
  11. Side quests really didn't need to be voice acted.

I agree completely. I listened to them at first, but I found myself skipping them after awhile because I just didn't care about why I had to go save thier friends because they couldn't for some reason or something very similar. I would have much rather those resources been put into open world pvp and end game stuff. I did listen to the whole storyline voice overs though and I thought that aspect of it was worth it.

  12. Or maybe they should look at why Republic is getting owned so much, I find it odd that almost every single server is being dominated by imperials.

I'm not seeing this on my server at all(Iron Citadel). I am usually pugging it cause I'm still waiting on guildies to get to 50, and win more than I lose vs. Imps. On the subject of losing counted wins, I haven't experience this, but I have had them not count(and yes, I was in the entire match). This should be on the top of the bug fixes for BW imo.

  13. I don't care about your 1V1 adventures. I'm talking about group play, which is what the game is balanced for. An instant AOE that crits five people for 4k is not worthless padding in group play. It's legit, insane burst.

It's not an instant, it's a 3 sec. cast and they have to be grouped pretty tight for this to actually be worth casting(8m). By the way, taking out a single target at a time is group play. I wasn't talking about 1v1 jackie.

  14. These two AOEs do way, way too much damage. There is absolutely no reason an AOE, which can be made instant with a hybrid build, should be critting five equally geared people for 4,000 damage. Couple this with Force in Balance and it is possible to AOE three people down to 40% health in two globals.

50 sage here and to me, the ability isn't even worth picking up. I would much rather have my dots and cc and just kite the hell out of single target melee or disrupt the hell out of single target ranged. I'm not about padding my damage with most of the time worthless aoe.

  15. Except that game had 3 second in combat battle resses, and it was only three seconds if you were undergeared, and ran with the damage on move debuff like a scrub.

I wasn't a scrub, but a squishy sorc and it all came down to if I got disarm pop'd on them I win, if not they had me 90% of the time.

  16. I was willing to wait for expertise before i made a judgement since i know that scaling is very hard to predict, especially without access to any hard data.

Yet i am 50 and i have almost 400 expertise and operatives can still open on my for 6k. I have been killed in stuns in the past 2 hours even. The way operatives totally wreck you at 50? That's the way they totally wreck you when you are both geared too.

Burst needs a nerf across the board - starting with the operative.

Not even to mention that as a marauder i can't even reliably hit targets that are moving with a 15 percent speed boost or greater. It is really depressing to think how much work went into the pve in this game and how much more needs desperately to be invested in the pvp.

You should have played warhammer. Witch Elves and Witch Hunters could kill you in 2-3 secs if they got the jump on you out of steath.

  17. I don't know if this is just on my server or game wide, but Ilum objectives haven't been working properly and warzone wins are not being counted some times for daily's/weekly's. (and yes, even if I joined at the very beginning of the match) Just curious as to how many people are being affected by this. I'm trying to gear up as fast as I can, so this is very frustrating to me.
  18. I played the PvP aspect of WAR for two years and enjoyed it almost as much as I enjoyed Guild Wars.

It wasn't a complete failure. Often good and innovative concepts, and then killed by one or two totaly stupid design decisions.

If I were to create a classic MMO with solid PvP, WAR would be my prime source for learning what worked and what didn't.

^^^^This and I can pick out the WoW kids in this thread pretty easily. I loved most parts about WAR, just a few things that I didn't.
