In short, MM R4 is not on our roadmap.

The priorities for our encounters team right now is focused on making more impactful, engaging bosses in story content, delivering Flashpoints in all modes with modern boss mechanics, and making additional challenging 8-player encounters.

Man, this is incredibly disappointing. I know ops players aren't exactly a large group anymore but it sucks to hear that management's decision is just a resounding "meh" instead of making content to draw those players in.

  2. I haven't done the in-depth testing of other people, but in my experience this new theory seems to check out. Healing on my operative was a breeze whereas I had wipe-after-wipe on my sorc--leading me to believe that dispelling the resurgence buff with inervate was causing the issues. Not that great that my keystone heal basically ends the fight in a wipe.
  3. so i'm the only vet with something to say on here? or am i just the only vet left?

You're basically the only one left.

I've been playing since Beta. I've been subscribed from Day 1 until... Three weeks ago (but still have two months of sub time left). In that time I've experienced every facet SWTOR had to offer, from Heroics to Flashpoints to Operations, open world PvP to unranked PvP to ranked PvP, playing barbie to playing GSF. I've committed ample time to each of those so I'm not necessarily biased towards one element of the game or another; that being said, I've spent most of my time raiding.

I've spent periods of time raiding casually to progression raiding ten times a week with different groups and guilds at the same time. Like most other raiders I've sat by as BW released less and less Ops content and each time a new announcement was made my fingers were crossed hoping they'd say something about new ops content. I was let down time and again. For five years I've been a constant subscriber and, honestly, the past two have been terrible. Especially of late with no new content released since before 4.0 and nothing on the horizon (with the exception of an announcement that they'll make an announcement three months from now). So a major gripe of mine is this drought, one we were promised we'd never see. I guess when BW said we wouldn't go another year without ops content, they meant we'd go even longer without content.

I haven't even touched on their proposed changes to gearing. I'm absolutely not trying to sound like an elitist, but if you're a player who doesn't participate in operations content whatsoever, why do you need BiS gear? That high-end gear should be reserved for the players who a) have earned it; and b) actually need it. If people want the looks, then fine, leave that up to RNG. Speaking of RNG, who actually asked for a return to the days of Battlemaster loot bags? Anyone? No? I thought so.

Locking gear rewards behind a paywall is also a terrible idea. In the past I raided with a fair number of players who were F2P but were able to raid (and be rewarded for it) thanks to Ops passes. With gear requiring an actual subscription there's no reason for them to stay; that's another group of people leaving. The only way I could see this not being a completely terrible idea is if BioWare implemented the system that WoW (and I believe WildStar?) has where players can sell subscription tokens on the GTN. Otherwise, this is just Pay2Win. Pay2Win that requires more effort beyond just purchasing gear, but Pay2Win nonetheless.

At the end of the day, I'm leaving SWTOR until such a time that BioWare starts once again giving me, and the thousands of players like me, a reason to give them money for their product.

  4. Hey follks,

The team is aware of issues relating to some Operation and Flashpoint bosses. We are currently looking to address these issues with Game Update 4.3 and will pass on any additional information as we have it.

    Thanks!

4.3? Come on, man. You're joking right? This is a joke. It has to be! Otherwise I'd be giving you money in exchange for nothing.

Honestly, the only thing keeping me (and my money) here is that I raid with a couple different guilds and have a lot of fun with them. It's certainly not Bioware's raid tempo.

  5. Because you've never got lost in an FP have you....LMFAO.

Besides, like I said, it doesn't matter if they can or can't. It doesn't matter if they want to or don't, to expect someone to bypass content they're not bored with to suit YOU isn't so much stupid as it is astoundingly arrogant...but your style does seem to typify that personality flaw.

Hey, someone wants to clear trash for the bonus or XP? Fine. Someone wants to skip trash? Also fine. I couldn't care less since I'm a healer. My only expectation if people pull trash is that they pull multiple mobs to give me something to do. And I honestly have no idea what "style" you're referring to.

  6. I have an operative/scoundrel healer, juggernaut/guardian DPS, and mercenary healer (which I am working on gearing up). I am an extremely proficient healer and DPS. My primary toons are in 192 gear, and I have experience with all the end game content. Currently, I am between progression groups, but I am an alternate for Don't Worry 'Bout It's progression group. If you would like a more in-depth record of my skills/experience, please inquire.

In-game I go by Neine (90% of the time), Andrew, Nyhlus, or Andsh.

  7. So, I've always been under the impression that the optimal cylinder/form/cell/whatever for the Arsenal tree is the armour-piercing cylinder, yet when I mouseover Terminal Velocity it states that "while high-velocity gas cylinder is active, you vent 8 heat every 6 seconds." Is that a typo, or just something I've been overlooking for a long time?

Here is what I'm talking about.

  8. Hey there. I'm not really sure what kind of help you'd need gearing-wise at level 30, but I'm sure I can be of some help for when you hit 55. You'll want to stack defence like a mofo, your shield rating should be up there and your absorb will be about a third of your shield rating. As an example, I'm currently, I'm sitting at 972 defence (19.79%), 781 shield rating (39.39%) and 238 absorb (26.29%).

You'll hear different things from different sources (for example, Noxxic takes a far more balanced approach to stats while some people on the forums take the "stack defence like it's going out of style" route). My girlfriend directed me to this website here which provides a nifty tool that allows you to input your current stats and then it tells you what you should aim for. I used to take the Noxxic approach, but as of a couple days ago I switched to the other method and it seems to work pretty well.

As far as general advice goes, use redoubt augments on all your gear, the highest level gear isn't necessarily the best (if you have a 66 mod that provides the stats you need but you get a 69 mod that doesn't, you might be better off with the 66). I don't really know what else you need to know. If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer those.
