  1. Yeah, you are totally right, our #4 World 16-Man Hard Mode Explosive Conflict clear used TOTALLY incompetent idiots that don't know how to play as Sentinels. http://swtor.raidranks.com
  2. You are doing it wrong. One does not simply Tank in DPS Spec/Gear unless you and the healer significantly out-level/out-gear the content. I personally, out-DPS Sentinels.
  3. /thread I am done here. You are so *********** stupid, my head hurts from trying to understand it. Roll a *********** Sentinel/Marauder or a Sage/Sorcerer and shut the **** up. YOU CANNOT AND WILL NOT BE HELPED. That much is obvious.
  4. Who cares. Master Strike is an awesome ability EVEN IF you only get 2/3 of the hits off. Sure, it isn't as good as 3/3 hits but you really need to stop neglecting Master Strike because you are scared of it being interrupted. It doesn't cost Focus and its cooldown gets reset so often if you are specced correctly, it isn't a big deal if it gets interrupted. If you were Defense or Focus specced, I could see you being careful about when you use Master Strike. Vigilance gets to use it so often, you want to use it EVERY TIME you can. Every time you use Plasma Brand or Overhead Slash when you could have used Master Strike first, you just missed an opportunity to have the cooldown on Master Strike finished. That is a DPS loss.
  5. I forgot to mention the importance of Force Rush and Dispatch. Blade Storm and Dispatch should only be used while Force Rush is active. Force Rush is procced by Plasma Brand and Overhead Slash. Once you hit the 30% mark, Dispatch becomes your number one priority and should be used whenever off of cooldown and enough Rage is available BUT ONLY IF Force Rush is active.
  6. I am going to give you a rundown of my rotation and priority. This is my opener: Saber Throw > Force Leap > Sundering Strike > Master Strike I use Sundering Strike first here because Saber Throw + Sundering Strike = 4 Stacks of Armor Reduction. Now another thing that I do to maximize DPS is pop my Attack Adrenal and my Relic of Boundless Ages at the same time in the GCD between Sundering Strike and Master Strike. This is very dangerous because you are guaranteed to pull threat if the Tank does not use taunts during the opening seconds of a fight. Our Tank will will start the fight and as soon as the DPS starts their attacks, he will use his single target Taunt. Then at the exact time that the initial Taunt expires, he will use his AoE Taunt preventing our initial bursts from pulling aggro. If the fight does not have a tank swap mechanic, our Tank will then use his single target Taunt again as soon as it is off of cooldown. My standard rotation is: 1. Sundering Strike > Plasma Brand > Blade Storm 2. Sundering Strike > Overhead Slash > Master Strike 3. Sundering Strike > Plasma Brand > Blade Storm 4. Sundering Strike > Overhead Slash > Force Sweep 5. Sundering Strike > Plasma Brand > Blade Storm 6. Sundering Strike > Overhead Slash > Saber Throw (Set bonus allows melee range Saber Throw. Also generates 3 Rage) Now this rotation changes dynamically based on the status of Master Strike and the amount of Focus that I have. If Plasma Brand or Overhead Slash procs and finishes the cooldown on Master Strike, I immediately use Master Strike next. I will also skip the Sundering Strike any time that I am Focus capped or nearly Focus capped. If I am Focus capped and I need another 1.5s for something in my rotation to finish its cooldown, I will use Slash. Any time I do not have enough Focus for my next ability, I will use Combat Focus, or Strike. There should be very few times, if any, that you will ever need to use your Basic Strike ability. Starting with (9) Focus from the opener, the ideal rotation if Plasma Brand and Overhead Slash finish the cooldown on Master Strike every time is: 1. Sundering Strike(12) > Plasma Brand(8) > Master Strike(8) > Blade Storm(5) 2. Sundering Strike(8) > Overhead Slash(5) > Master Strike(5) > Force Sweep(6) 3. Sundering Strike(9) > Plasma Brand(5) > Master Strike(5) > Blade Storm(2) 4. Sundering Strike(5) > Overhead Slash(2) > Master Strike(2) > Saber Throw(5) 5. Sundering Strike(8) > Plasma Brand(4) > Master Strike(4) > Blade Storm(1) 6. Sundering Strike(4) > Overhead Slash(1) > Master Strike(1) > Force Sweep(2) 7. Sundering Strike(5) > Plasma Brand(1) > Master Strike(1) > Combat Focus(7) > Blade Storm(4) 8. Sundering Strike(7) > Overhead Slash(4) > Master Strike(4) > Saber Throw(7) 9. Sundering Strike(10) > Plasma Brand(6) > Master Strike(6) > Blade Storm(3) 10. Sundering Strike(6) > Overhead Slash(3) > Master Strike(3) > Force Sweep(4) 11. Sundering Strike(7) > Plasma Brand(3) > Master Strike(3) > Strike(6) > Blade Storm(3) Obviously, Master Strike isn't going to be available every time it is listed above and the Focus numbers don't take into account Focus generated from being attacked in Shien Form, and from the talents: Defiance, Narrowed Focus, and Momentum. You have to be flexible in reacting to the current situation. Making the right split second decisions regarding managing cooldowns and Focus is what is going to distinguish the best/most skilled Vigilance Guardians from the rest. Another thing to think about is fights where there is a knockback. Using Force Leap to get back on the boss is going to add another 3 Focus into your pool. To maximize DPS and reduce/eliminate wasted Focus from Focus capping, you are going to have to be smart about skipping Sundering Strike or replacing it with Slash. Once you get good at doing this and making the right decisions, you should be top DPS in almost every fight. Also, remember to use your Attack Adrenal and Relic of Boundless Ages as soon as one of them comes off cooldown. Their cooldowns will rarely finish at the same time aside from the beginning of a fight but you need to keep both of them on cooldown all the time. The exception to this will be fights with burn phases like Soa and G4-B3 Heavy Fabricator. Don't pop your Adrenal or Relic if you are not in a burn phase.
  7. myrrhbear, you are SO full of it. In PvE, If you AREN'T topping or at least matching every other DPS class as a Vigilance Guardian, you are doing it VERY VERY wrong. You need to post your skill rotations or something so that Guardians/Juggernauts that know how to do it right can help you improve your performance. If you are under performing compared to other DPS classes and then coming on here and complaining that Vigilance Guardian's DPS sucks, you are doing a horrible disservice to the class. Posting random WZ scoreboards doesn't prove anything. There are too many variables that come into play that can skew the numbers from one match to the next. In my personal experience, with 1300 expertise, as a Vengeance Juggernaut with a pocket healer, a full length match, and 0 deaths, I hit 550-600k quite often. In another match where I don't have a healer or the healer is being heavily focused and I have quite a few deaths, 300k is more the norm. If the match is a full length match and I don't hit 300k at a minimum, it means that my team got totally destroyed or I spent a lot of time guarding an objective without much action. My average performance in WZs where I am constantly engaged in combat is 400k. The only complaint I have about DPS Juggernauts is their PvP survivability in the absence of a healer. The burst/stun of a Op/Scoundrel stealth opener, the kiting capability of a Sage/Sorc, and the defensive cooldowns of a Sentinal/Marauder can make a very bad day for a DPS Jugg/Guardian. All of these problems are because the above classes can DPS the Jugg/Guardian while denying him the ability to do so in return. Do a 16-Man Hard Mode Karagga's Palace, and post your logs. Most of the fights in there are very Melee friendly and allow almost 100% uptime for Melee DPS. In my 16-Man raid group, I am number 1 or 2 for damage done almost every time on all of those encounters except Jarg and Sorno (Ranged DPS usually perform really well on that fight). Vengeance Juggernaut / Vigilance Guardian DPS ROCKS!!!
  8. Well you seem to be a perfect fit for your guild since both you and your guild seem to think Guardian/Jugg DPS isn't very good. I am in the The Remnant (#4 World - 16-Man Hard Mode EC Clear) and as a Vengeance Juggernaut, I am 1st or 2nd DPS almost every encounter in our raids. I am always number one DPS on Kephess due to the sheer amount of AoE whoop-*** I can put on all the adds. On any other fight, if I am not the top DPS, I am within 2-3% damage of #1 at most. All DPS classes are represented in our 16-man raid group except for Operatives and Assassins. Our sole Assassin is specced Tank and our two Operatives are specced Heals. If you can't reach or surpass the numbers that other DPS classes are putting out as a DPS specced Guardian/Juggernaut then I would say you have a L2P issue and not a class balance/game design issue. Our guild closely monitors and communicates with other hardcore SWTOR progression raiding guilds (what is left of them anyways) and the numbers that our DPS are hitting are more or less the same as what everyone else is hitting. I am not stating all this to brag or toot my own horn; rather, I don't want people seeing your post and thinking Juggernaut/Guardians are worthless DPS because they are ACTUALLY one of the best DPS classes.
  9. Still no developer response yet? I am really glad that BioWare is so committed to their Endgame PvE. /sarcasm I hope that all those people that enjoy endlessly leveling alts are enough subs to pay your salaries.
  10. Why has the [8-Man] Hard Mode Warlord Kephess bug already been acknowledged and received an official response, yet the fact that the Nightmare Pilgrim (which is the only source of the Campaign Boots token) can't even be summoned, been responded to yet? Since Tuesday's maintenance (4/24/2012 - 1.2.1), the tablet that you need to click on to summon the Nightmare Pilgrim cannot be interacted with. Through asking several people on our server, I have learned that it appears that the summoning object was working initially after Tuesday's maintenance (4/24/2012 - 1.2.1), but when a group of players summoned the Nightmare Pilgrim and were then defeated without killing him, the summoning object became impossible to interact with for EVERYONE on the server. After the servers came back up from Thursday's maintenance (4/27/2012 - 1.2.1a), the summoning object was apparently functional again. However, another group of players summoned the boss and after being subsequently defeated, the object was unable to be interacted with again. So it seems that in the current build of the game, the Nightmare Pilgrim can be summoned once on a particular server and then it becomes bugged for the entire population of that server until the server is restarted. This is not an isolated problem, as many different players from many different servers have reported this same exact problem in several threads on these forums addressing this same issue. If for some reason this bug is not affecting EVERY server, look no further than Vornskr to see a server effected by this bug. The fact that I haven't seen a single response to this issue from a Developer or Community Team Member leads me to believe that a fix will NOT be coming in this coming Tuesday's patch (5/01/2012). Please, can I just get a confirmation from a BioWare representative that they are aware of this issue and are investigating before another week has passed? If not, can I put in Loot/Item tickets every 5 days to have our guild awarded 2x Campaign Boots tokens and 2x Random Black Hole gear pieces so that our Tier 2 gear progression isn't put on hold?

  12. I wanted to change my Legacy Name immediately after I made a mistake entering it. BioWare, allow me to change my Legacy Name!
  13. I can confirm this. In the "Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings", with the "Show only programs found on this computer" option checked, I see an entry for "WRC 2 Fia World Rally 2011" BUT, it has the SWTOR icon. I have never owned or installed this game on my computer. I am a SLI user with two GTX 580 3GB cards, and I am curious if the Nvidia SLI profile for that game being applied to the SWTOR process, is the reason why I am experiencing poor performance under certain situations.
  14. You have a problem. Either your cooling solution is inadequate (add more/cooler airflow), your heatsink is clogged with dust, or your GPU has a defect at the GPU/Heatsink mating area or in the silicon itself. It should not be possible for **ANY SOFTWARE** to push your card to 100 °C, especially in a minute and a half, if your cooling solution is adequate.
