I'm not a regular poster on the forums but I already know how this is going to turn out so I'm going to go ahead prepare myself to be flamed
Ever since SWG went down in burnig flames of hellfire because they screwed up everyone was grasping onto the idea of Star Wars. I love Star Wars, Jedi, Sith, omg to me it's like crack so don't get me wrong when i say this. The Star Wars community is a bunch of whining animals tearing up Bioware for no good reason.
Now that it's out in the open let me explain.
1.7 million preorders EU alone
Unknown to me, unholy god amount of preorders from US.
Knowing that, how in the holy he'll could you NOT expect Bioware to have a rough time with server stability and population control. They gave you options, also throughout early access they gave you 40 brand new servers. All those who complained about queue times and how leggy it is, have you never been in an MMO launch?
A few things that every launch is expected to have:
-Queue times
-Lag issues
-Unexpected game crashes
-Unexpected server crashes
-Unscheduled Emergency Maintenance
And of course the #1 thing, BASIC MMO STABDARDS
now let me explain what basic mmo standards are. When I think of a basic MMO launch I expect, content, chat, character builds, items, dungeons, other people, pretty basic.
What I've seen 75% of the star wars community think what a BASIC MMO launch is:
-Dual Specs
-12 Raid Dungeons
-5000 hours of endgame content
-flawless game play and server issues at bare to nil
-arenas
-Omgiwantmywow2.0please
Everyone has to understand, Bioware has never made an MMO before, yes they have others to go off of but this is not a major MMO company. I for one love the game, it's something I can see myself playing in 3 years. So here's the message to everyone I think should consider: did you prepare youself for this to be a new MMO launch? Or did you expect blizzards employees in the background telling Bioware how to make their MMO and one cater to the complainers? Please let me know how you think
