  1. I were in a similar guild.. I was so ready for end game content, except that within 1 weeks from starting raiding the guild had cleared both Normal Eternal Vault and Hutt Hospital, and was ready to do it on grinding basis.. And the week after they had 3/5 Hard Mode Eternal Vault and Hutt Hospital cleared..

My former raiding experience was in WOTLK - and for 2 months my guild didn't get of Lich King 25 man normal mode down, as a matter of fact we were stuck at the Blood Queen i think, and didn't get them down while i was playing..

So i don't call my self a hardcore raider, but clearing the Ops so fast wasn't something i expected..

I do hope that BioWare will make some long raids, and not just 5 bosses you can down within 1 hour..

I quit the game for nearly 3 weeks and just got back, i now do Ilum dailys and 1 or 2 Flashpoint HMs and then log out and play on an alt.. I were kicked from the guild or it was disbanded i don't know but i never see them around anymore..

  2. rating in wow means nothing.

ratings means a bunch of scrubs picking the most OP class's and gearing them out thinkign they got skills lol

wow is utter crap and comparing star wars to it was a joke

even in swtors current state it craps all over wow

Now from the very beginning SWTOR was meant to be a competitor to WoW.

So because you got burned out playing WoW doesn't mean its crap, i bet you have spend more time on WoW than u currently have with SWTOR.

I have had very much the same feeling to protect SWTOR from WoW as you do, but realized i got no where with it, as SWTOR got nothing exciting to provide after you have completed your story and reached level 50..

*Note* I quit playing WoW as i got burned out just after launching 2nd tier raid bosses - and havn't touched the game since.. But that doesn't mean i enjoyed the game while i played it..

  3. to top it off the wow fanboi in the vid picked the wrong class to judge the game with also

BH/trooper are OP and easymode class's he should of tryed playing a assasin or shadow they are cooldown dependant and require skill to play

i lol'ed when he said on the vid wow takes skill wo play hahahaha its one of the esiest mmo's ive ever played and the worst xD

Try heal with your Assassin or Shadow.... Oh right no..

The guy plays as PVP Healer if you didn't notice that...

What was your Rating in WoW-PVP again?...

  4. In SWG it was fun going for special resources with some nice stats to craft just your specific item..

And before you had looked around you had spend 4-5 hours chasing that single resource down just to get those 10 points more in crafting :)

What i see in WoW crafting is you spend 4 hours flying around harvesting resources and it feels like you have spend a 4 days on it.. So bloody boring..

SWTOR is nearly the same, except it is your companions doing the work for you..

  5. More generally:

The problem here is one of WoW perception.

People are hard-coded to believe the following to always be true:

Hit Level Cap > Run level 50 instances for gear that allows you to: > Run level 50 Heroic/Hard Mode instances for gear that allows you to: > Run entry level raid, to get gear. Some slots in this equation can be filled with crafting or (badly itemized) rep gear.

Problem is Bioware went with a totally different paradigm, looking something like this:

    Hit Level Cap

--- get crafted level 50 purple mods to get entry level raiding or hard mode gear

------proceed to normal mode raid > proceed to hard and nightmare mode raids

    OR

------proceed to do Hard Mode flashpoints

    {OR}

--- do daily quests to get level 50 purple mods to get entry level raiding or hard mode gear

------proceed to normal mode raid > proceed to hard and nightmare mode raids

    OR

------proceed to do Hard Mode flashpoints

Hard Mode's arent a stepping stone to raiding, in this game. Hard Modes are an EQUIVALENT to raiding, for people who dont have the time or cant manage to get 8 people together to raid, that provides EQUIVALENT rewards.

It's a deliberately different design decision. Leave the WoW baggage at the door.

Yeap i can see i got a wrong perspective about this - But SWTOR supposed to be a WoW Clone, just in a Star Wars Universe..

I really tried to keep my focus on SW:TOR i loved the game very much - I don't care if their is a bug here and there, as long as they're getting fixed by the time..

Have you tried to report a bug ?

Getting that This is M0-T0 bla bla bla.. standard respond - That is not what i want to see for a Customer service, perhaps a person behind the screen to chat to you and perhaps wants further explanation of the bug, if your report wasnt fullest.. Just an example..

  6. speaking only to this point:

this is different from any other MMO... how?

    endgame is grinding for gear.

This game had a lot more accessible endgame content at launch than WoW did.

Try them on Hard - theyre significantly harder.

Again, though - this is not exactly rare in the MMO world. Endgame is = grind gear.

Probably i never played WoW at launch, was to busy playing SWG at that time..

At WoW you got something called Achievement, its a little side bonus you can go hunt for when your bored grinding gear..

Now what do SWTOR got beside grinding gear?...

  7. That's pretty insane that you managed to down 16man nightmare EV without any wipes, with almost no 50 gear, and with a pug.

Give me 1 - just 1 raid in WoW you could solo with only level up gear, no matter the difficulty..

I was stunned how easy it was to complete normal mode - I do know that we got Nightmare and such - but again i am no Hard core raider :)

I see you point tho - but still you shouldn't be able to take down a raid so easily in a PuG..

Peoples say that Raiding in WOTLK was a walk in the park, i never managed in 2 month to kill Lich King on normal 10 man mode - Thats where my Raiding status is..

  8. I was also so hyped about this game..

I was even able to play at beta, but i never reached Max level because there was so much content to explore :)

Now in live i reached max level, i figured well what should i do..

I wants to get a bit gear so i can start off raiding, i went to Ilum and started questing there, quickly figured oh I'm actually doing Dailys now >.<..

Oh well i finished the quests around me and went back to the fleet, some players were looking for a healer for Black Talon Hard Mode i thought cool, ill do that..

We finished the Talon and the group leader asked me if i wanted to join Eternal Vault, i told him i just dinged 50 like 3 hours ago .. No matter he said well alright..

We went to Eternal Vault in a pug group, we managed to kill 1st boss without any wipes, but 2nd boss was a bit harder and we ended up having the random death bug..

The day after he reformed the group, replacing a few players, and we tried again.. We killed 2nd boss after first try that day, and moved on and took out 3rd and 4th on first try as well.. Now at this point we had spend more time killing non sense Trash that didn't even require a bit tactics it was more like hack and slash through it..

Once we got to SoA we had a bit problems as well, and actually had to coordinate our self (plus peoples bugged out when we jumped down).. And after a couple of tries we decided to go the day after again..

So we did, and after 3 tries we killed SoA..

Now here is the thing, the group was formed with 1 Main tank, 1 Off Tank/DPS, 2 Healers and 4 DPS.. The main tank was decent geared nearly everything was top PvE gear.. Off Tank was full PvP geared, but didn't matter.. Me and my co healer was very poor geared and our DPS likewise.. So we basically did the first Raid with only decent geared Tanks rest was newly born 50's..

Anyway the day after our success we decided to go to Hutt Hospital, and kill Bonesmasher.. We assembled the same group as the day before, once we entered the arena 2 peoples bugged out, 2 DPS's.. About a couple of minutes after the boss was dead.. I was like oh so thats how you empty the whole raid content within a week..

I basicly figured i could stop grind Dailys nor had to do Hard Modes, just go raid to get geared up..

So i ended up not playing anymore on that character, i now beside my level 50 Sorcerer have a 45 Powertech, 35 Operative, and a rest is below 20's..

I got really frustrated that the end-gaming content was so easy to break, i don't see my self as a hardcore raider, as a matter of fact i never completed a raid in WoW because the content was to hard for me to manage.. But then this happened..

I saw the full 30 minutes of this video, i don't PvP as i hate PvP, but i do so understand his points, and the most fun part i had in this game was my first character from level 1-50.. After wards it was to bloody boring..

TL;DR: 1-50 Great fun, most exciting thing ever, end game content to boring it's only grind for gear, or getting schematics for your crew skill, or collect the rest of the Datacrons..

  9. WoW re-invented the genre. There is no conceivable reason as to why new MMO devs can't copy the recipe that already proved successful, well most of it.

Claiming "but swtor is out for just 2 weeks" is irrelevant. WoW implemented a lot of features over a long time because they had to brain storm and experiment before introducing new things into the game.

With the innovation and experimentation already done, I don't see why BW didn't just copy all that hard work and just implemented it in their game by default.

But this just aint World of Starwars..

I can see they should implement good stuff from other MMO's have have proven to be successfull, but how you guys make it sound is that is should copy-paste the whole WoW system because it is what YOU are used to play..

The reason i said so, was not to protect SW:TOR about missing features, but to say that all the stuff you want as Damage Meter and what else was published by Addons that players had invented.. If you took all the Addons away from WoW you nearly have similar product to SW:TOR..

I enjoy to play a game without being addicted to have a million addons to make my game play easier.. I haven't played WoW for a long time, but aren't their soon an Addon where u just click 1 button and it execute your rotation ?

TL:DR; SW:TOR don't need to satisfy customers who don't want to work a bit and use their imagination instead of having a pop-up to tell them which next spell they should cast to gain the upperhand of a fight.

  10. Game is going to die because they wont put in a combat log or any kind of add-on friendly interface modifications. No dps/healing/action meters is a huge hindrance to the game.

I dare you to try play an MMO Pre-WoW..

    Just for 1 day..

  11. So what you're saying is, you beat them, but they're impossible to beat.

I'm not sure what you're looking for here.

I think he had to accually Play the game, instead of just press 2-3 buttons as he usually does when PvP..

Its called not eligible for a challenge..

  12. When i look for a Flashpoint group, either if its HM or just regular.. i do a /who

Then ect. if i wanna run Cademimo i type 30-35 and begin to roll that /whisper :)

And hardmodes i type 50 and find everyone who's at the fleet mostly as they normally are up for things :)

I havn't yet got a bad feedback from it, more like the worst thing that can happen is "No sorry, but good luck hunting" or something equal :)

  13. I got nothing more to say than..

Oh dang, i died.. oh well Cantina and chat abit for 15-20 minutes...

Oh dang again.. I missed the shuttle.. oh well what should i do the next 30 minutes :)

But but but.. I never bothered with it, i was more like oh well thats how it is.. Guess ill just settle with this :)

  14. u have not seen the amount of whiners on the forums when servers r down have u lol? i think its a great idea and stops forums being cluttered with pointless whines about euro down time, imo anyone in europe moaning about down times need to goto school or get a job, wont affect you then :)

and yes im a working European and it dont affect me at all.

Oh how lucky it won't affect YOU when the servers are down..

Now because YOU aren't affected by the maintenance, can YOU then explain to me what the difference between selfish and MeMeMeMeMe is?

    Back to topic..

The forums aren't build to handle the amount of subscribers to SW:TOR and you will then experience a larger Queue time entering the swtor.com website..

  15. What i remember from my first MMORPG i played years before their was something they called World of Warcraft..

I was a Twi'lek and an Entertainer, i had no clue on what the hell i was during, but it was fun.. I were in a cantina in a city they called Coronet, i learned something about looping macro's and were chatting from 8 am till 12 pm and had my character running macro..

By the time i had maxed out the so called Dancer profession, some dude tipped me 500.000 credits i was like wooow that's a lot of moneys.. I then contacted the person got him to know better and he explained he was an Architect, by that moment i was sold.. Architect i would be, because THEY make the moneys..

I spend all the days/nights surveying for resources to grind up, i suddenly i had build my own house..

Few weeks after of grinding, and grinding and yet more grinding i was Master Architect..

I thought now the moneys goes in, and i decided to advertise for my self around the galaxies, and got orders on Guild Halls and other larger stuff, then i was like.. How do i build a guild hall?!...

Anyway i spend nearly half a year before i actually began earning credits, and build stuff..

Those times were Legendary for me..

TL;DR Todays MMO's are about who got the best gear, and not who had the best fun in the game.. Sadly i have been consumed aswell by that evilness..
