  1. Very true. I would suggest either the Knights of Atonement (for selfish reasons), the Knights of Sokan, or the Remnants of Hope. All three are very good RP guilds.
  2. That would be the first step. Find yourself a good RP guild and establish your character. We're striving to have each member guild have at least one representative on the council. As a reminder, the Council will not have OOC power over anything other than their own guilds.
  3. First, I want to thank everyone for taking the time to respond to this. Even voicing a disagreeing opinion is great feedback, as it helps me form a more realistic approach to the concept. The concerns about the Council going tyrannical are very valid. However, as I stated before, the group won't have any OOC authority. Their purpose will be to bring together other roleplayers and organize events for them. In no way will the Council be able to tell other people how to RP. In this vein, picking Council-members who can play this part well is very important. That said, how we would go about choosing the best RPers and most viable characters is still up in the air. This is something we'll have to decide before making anything official. Next, I think that starting small would probably be the best thing. Maybe a group of 3 or 4 guilds coming together as a conglomerate "Jedi Order". They'll still have independent sovereignty in their own guilds, but they'll be a vital part of a larger community of roleplayers.
  4. The idea is still in the very, very early stages, so we haven't gotten things like this officially worked out yet. One of the things we had tossed around, though, was having a kind of vote. I understand that this often becomes a 'popularity contest' rather than a vote of skills, and we would want to avoid that. Also, we would steer clear of RPing strictly by level, but often the established RPers who have been around the block will be max level by simple merit of them having played the game long enough. This is another issue we're going to want to address. The idea for the council is mostly to organize RP events and bring RPers together, without giving them much real OOC power, if any. I think that would help solve the problem. And no one is requiring any RPer to acknowledge the Council in any way: If they want to RP as though the group doesn't exist, they are welcome to do so. Basically, the idea is a fundamental separation of OOC and IC that all RPers should be capable of.
  5. Hello, everyone! I'm new to the Jung Ma server, but I've been playing SWTOR off and on since release. Recently I've really gotten back into it, and have joined up with a Pub-side RP guild called the Knights of Atonement. A friend of mine in the KoA suggested something to me, and it really stuck with me as a potentially awesome idea: What if we got some of the highest ranking, best Jedi RPers from all the RP guilds on the server and started a Jedi Council? The idea's been brewing in my head for a while, and I thought I'd bounce it off of you guys to see what kind of interest there'd be in this.
  6. This is an old thread, but I'm posting here to bump it so the Devs might see it and answer it. My son and I both have high level characters, and he wants to play on his own account on his new Alienware PC so we can play together.
