  1. I feel ya, I mean I know they have to do this, but ffs I really think with all this planned down time they should compensate us subs. Servers down all day - The day doesn't count against your sub time. I'm not paying to sit here and staire at a server list screen. XD Just saying it seems fair, esspecially since theirs gonna be quiet of down time for the server merge.
  2. Yea just read up a bit, live in holland, I moved here from the US, so still figuring out these time zones XD! LOL
  3. So? Here we're it's now 90 minutes past the time for this maintenence to be finished.. What's taking so long XD?
  4. I'm gonna take a stab in the dark that this is why this patch has taken me all day to download... :S If however they did improve load time's/general FPS I wont gripe even if it does take away from the long range view, who care's normally I'm looking at what's in front of me or in a WZ any ways.
  5. Don't feel bad man, I've been lurking in these forums for years and I can tell you right now theirs a list of about 50 people I wont even acknowledge due to that sort of attitude. They feel that just ebcause they're good at PVP or w/e it is that they can talk down to many of us. My advise to the guy who likes to speak poetically, If you can't say some thing nice (Or nicely) ****...
  6. Wow you guys are really a bunch of ignorant fan boys. Keep puckering up the devs love it. You sit here flaming my posts because I bring up points many players have brought up. Most of these are just the tip of the iceberg. I expect to be greeted with either silence or others input in a positive manner. Let's face it and stop trying to rectify the situation. This game is and was not what we expected or wanted in many ways. is it bad NO, does it have good qualities and stories, YES. Does it really feel like an MMO, NO. My main point is, they spend more time trying to get money from us, then fixing or enhancing the game in the correct ways. So again, please if you're gonna be rude, just don't post. My entire post I refrained from insulting any one. Was I wrong on a few technical issues, perhaps. But actually YES EA owned the launcher for SWG and several other games. So my point on that is simply that SWG was doing fine even after it had been messed up after who ever the hell it was took over working on it (this is where I was wrong) Sony did in fact own it in the beginning, I can't remember who took over. But seriously the messed it up. But it was rather odd that just year before SWTOR launched SWG randomly after dropping an expansion and still allowing many of us to sub decided it was going bye bye. Literally I got screwed out of like 60 days of sub, but w/e that's not my point. So, as EA owned stock in it, I would surmise that without a doubt EA had SWG shut down for the simple reason of building hype for SWTOR and making sure there would be no other SW MMO competition. A wise move, not knocking that. However if i had known they would be replacing it with some thing so watered down next to the capabilities of SWG I would've went crazy, in fact it does drive me crazy. Do I want SWG back? No, that's not at all my point, it had it's time. But I expected for them to learn and use what were some of the successful highlights of that game. One of you pointed out my comments on chairs not being usable, obviously you skimmed through and completely missed my point. It's more then just chairs, it's much more then that, from decorating our strongholds and ships being so restrictive to a player just being an icon in a story rather then who they want to be and that being reflected in what they did to get to there level. The above also reflects on what I meant by the game being linear and completely story driven to a overwhelming point. I have so little control or real feasible options to level normally. Yes you can group up and FP to death, but it will take you longer, and sadly that will only get you so far. I understand not every one would want to grind, but once in a while it would be nice to grind out a few levels and it make a positive difference rather then the game punishing me by cutting that XP out when doing class missions. Overall I feel most of you are just missing the point's, many of these changes I've mentioned are what have made long lasting and successful MMO's that even now in there later years drown us out in popularity and overall player numbers and income.
  7. Hi, my name's Nicholas. I've played SWTOR™ since the beta release, I like many had high hopes and was very excited by what I was seeing in the early trailers etc. I've played solidly for a long time, experienced many of the elements this game has to offer. However I have some thing's I would really like to say and really ope one of the games developers actually take's the time to read. That said, I am not going to flame the entire thing, nor slander them or there work. They're normal working men and women like most of us. With that in mind I shall do this in bulletins with a brief description of my thoughts for each one. * "Star Wars™ The Old Republic™" development team listens and panders to the wrong crowds. What I mean by this is, the game is SO balanced it's boring. In the real SW's universe thing's are not fair, much like our universe. A Jedi or a Sith should be able to take out a smuggler no problem. In an MMO this would be easily acceptable with a balancing factor of very few Jedi and Sith players, via a random roll in character creation or hard achievements. I feel that the team leads need to seriously look at what made SWG a success in the first 2-3 years before EA/Sony took over. I really would have expected EA as an investor and owner of SWG's launcher program to have learned from the mistake of trying to balance a world that should "not" be balanced. * "Star Wars™ The Old Republic™" feels more like a single player with people occasionally hacking my computer and or x box and getting in our way then an MMO. This has more to do with the game's linear feeling then even the other player's or (in the past) sever populations. With such low populations these day's It's literally like a single player. The biggest kick in the teeth I felt from day one was this game's "anti-grinding system". You could if you so chose go level by killing mobs which would take forever so that you can easily overtake a boss or the forced down your throat story lines only to be faced with a smack when they nerf the XP amount you receive for completing the mission just because you earned and advantage. We feel as if we have no choice but to do the story line, even flash point grinding takes longer then the story line. Maybe I don't want to play a story I've already done? The lazy solution that seems to be coming is 'We'll just let them create a 60". Rather then addressing the real issue that the focused the game wrongly on purely story leveling. This becomes all the more apparent when you've played for years and want to roll a marksmen even though you already have a operative. The solution many of us have wanted was the ability to change our class say once a week or so. * "Star Wars™ The Old Republic™" developers now feel that we can no longer manage our own skill tree's. This was one of the biggest blow's to many players. Killing the original skill tree and the ability to blend freely really hurt not only the players individuality but also make's them feel like a teenager who is to ignorant to make the right decisions. So to solve the problem because people were crying about specific classes being op due to tree blending and such they decided to make our choices linear and restricted. Point of this all is? Bring back our skill trees and let "us" decide. * "Star Wars™ The Old Republic™" lack character and or player individuality. What I mean by this is, is that because the game is so linear and focused on specific story plots, sets, achievements we literally feel like clones. I see a warrior over there, oh I bet he as the same ship as me, oh I bet he killed Baras too! Yep, he's just a altered clone of myself. This is every where in the game, from the character design to strongholds, to mounts, every thing. We're all just clones. I can't say I ever felt that in any other MMO, but "The clone is strong with this one" (respirator breathing). * Horrible role play ability. This can be easily shown in little thing's even. You see that chair in the Nar Bar? Guess what?! you can't sit in it! HAHA! You want to sit? Oh go buy an emote /chair# on the cartel market. (other player) Why the hell can we not just click on the chair and sit down like SWG which was on a older engine and just in general older? (Me) Because the developers didn't think of it, and they don't listen to us! 'They don't like you, I don't like you either! you just watch your self! I'm on the ban list in 12 servers!" Main point is theirs so many aspects where this game lacks the ability for role play. SWG again older, you could design a mission in game for your apprentice. NO JOKE, literally a actual quest....! * Far to "pay to win" driven. Alright I work hard for my money as does any one who sub's or buy's stuff off the cartel market. I feel this has been needing to be said for a while now. I really dislike ow certain thing's that should just be natural mechanics are held hostage for cash. That's high way robbery in a sense. I dislike the overall general prices of thing's on the cartel market. An example, theirs a black Varactyl, not that I want it but a friend crazily does and it costs 2400 CC's... For real? That's like 20 dollars for a re-texture of some thing already in the game? And then you got to pay usually around half that much again in CC's to unlock it for your other toons? So basically $30.00 for a mount? * The packs are technical gambling. Now on that note isn't underage gambling of any sort illegal in the US and many other countries? Just because I buy CC's and then gamble with them, doesn't mean it's not gambling. People blow $100.00's of dollars on hyper crates and packs and still never get any thing they wanted! I understand buying a particular outfit or thing outright, but this is technically gambling, and many people are kind of sick of it. I've got a friend I went to high school with who plays this game, he went to law school, and even he can not figure out how this has not yet been banned or taken to court! Any ways the point is, stop it, we're sick of it. We've given you so much money already, wth are you doing with it? Which brings me to my next point. * Bug's go unfixed even after 3 1/2 years? Ok here is a few small one's just off the top of my head that A annoy me and B cause a problem for many of us. 1 - This is small but theirs an ore cart or w/e floating like 3 feet off the ground on Korriban over by the acolytes you have to kill to prove your loyalty. Small I know, but it's painful to look at. 2 - Mid level and lowbie WZ's I can play on ultra graphics, yet lvl 50+ half the time I get dropped back to fleet for some reason during loading or when I do get in, the frame rate just goes in the dumps. A bunch of us tested it, we dropped out graphics down to lowest at 800 X 600 and it made no difference. NOW some people have no problem, but theirs a good 1/3rd of us who have this issue, yet oddly enough I run the game in midby, lowbie Wz's or PVE on ultra... PERFECT FPS. 3 - Oddly enough it was that same group of people including myself that for some odd reason get stuck on average 5 out of 7 time's when using the holo terminal for the operative missions. 4 - Some of the hair meshes that have come out lately fit NOTHING. What I mean is, theirs a shoulder length wavy one that when look at a toon face to face theirs no mesh faces on the right inner side of the hair mesh... HOW DID THIS GO UNSEEN BY DEVELOPERS? These are not huge thing's but this is just bottom list issues we're having that have yet and probably never will be fixed. But don't worry they'll make sure to put out new stuff on the Cartel Market for you to buy! Any one seeing a pattern of priorities? * More work has been put into your Hutt Cartell then bug fixing, legacy, even the story since launch combined. This is a sad but true point when you stop to think about it. In the end here is how it looks to the public. You're more concerned with making money then quality. Let's face it, most of your players can see it, it's in the numbers, the server populations. This game was a flop. Why? because you don't listen to the right people. You would rather make as much money before it completely sinks then fix it and aim for a bigger profit through longevity. SWTOR made a big splash, but like the great Titanic it just wasn't built to withstand the stresses it would endure. I really hope that one of you take the time to read this, and realize the real issue's at hand. New story content is great and all, but what does that matter if the rest of the game is so riddled with failures and problems. If you want a real player/developers opinions and ideas. PM Me. I think after a decade of experience I can point you in the right directions. SWTOR can be saved and become better then you could imagine. But you need the right idea's and to realize what you should truly be focusing on. P.s. Please feel free to posts your own thoughts on this or other issues. But if you don't have any positive input on this. Don't post. I'm not here to argue with a bunch of Fanboy suck ups.
  8. I agree they need to give us back high res for real!
  9. Just a quick question in general, which is better for running the game on a quad core 3.6 ghz 4 gig memory machine the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB Or AMD Radeon HD 6770 1GB Gonna be upgrading soon so Im curious to hear some feed back.
  10. Not really if you think about it, many of those races we already can see in game and do have lines and voice's. However we cant play them... I really wanna see asuka's race (Sorry not a fan of her but just don't know there name atm of the top of my head). There's people in the Jedi temple, hell there's a companion that is one... Why cant I play as one, or a fuggin wookie? Dont gimme that my computer wouldn't be able to handle it BS ether Bioware LOL! Trust me it is more then capable! All respect to you Bioware, just common stop toying with us and give us the good stuff! <3 On the note of the player houses, I do realize your right most people would just use them for there junk and thats about it. But those 1/10 players who go above and beyond like I did in SWG would make it worth it. Besides this game IMO will die without these addons and some RP.
  11. I like the idea of custom companions, but that should a later down the road thing around lvl 25 or higher, as for the social items like troiphies, people will just have to get over it, this games not even 2 months old so they would really have room to gripe. I do agree the classes need more work, but here is my thought, in the sw's universe NOTHING is fair, so why do we kill the realism but trying to make every one equal? A sith or a Jedi should be insanely hard, a trooper should be a pain in the *** accept vs one of those 2, and etc. Just my own point not a argument ! I would love to see a game where it takes several people to bring down one real play Jedi, like the old SWG days. then when it was all balanced out and they were weak, the game lost clients due to the fact there was no advantage of any sort to any class. As well as many other problems brought in by Sony but we wont get into that... -_- BASTARDS!
  12. We all know eventually they will expand on the game, and as they have said they will listen to us as to what we want and need. So lets hear your idea's on the following *What social items would make the game more interesting (this is for RP mostly but also for showing off what you as a player have done). I think our own houses or apartments I should say, like we saw in Kotor would be interesting and easy for them to do without taking up a lot of land space in game. * Of course the main point of this post, what races should be added, lets be realistic here, there not gonna add outside content or Jawas and Hutt's but what humanoid species would you like to see. Id like to see Tridactoids perhaps as a odd one (Yoda's species). *Another thing this game really needs IMO is more classes on both sides, Some thing to draw away from the huge majority of Sith and Jedi. Sadly the other classes while fun don't seem to hold as much importance in the games storyline to really make you feel like there worth playing. Although I do love my smuggler! * What Planets would you like to see added, these could even be small glmises in flashpoints perhaps. Mustafar would be interesting but honestly I want to see Degobah brought to life in a game. It has a lot of Dark side history (hence why Yoda hid there it masked him). I also holds a lot of potential for this story line involving both Jedi and Sith. Again this is just for ideas, and like they said, the more noise we make the more likely they will listen!
  13. No this wouldn't be the issue, firstly I worked for apple for 3 years and honest I would never buy a product made or designed by them they are a worse rip off then buying beer at the bar for those prices. LOL Just a personal touch, 2 I'm a family man *** would I want or need an android for? The Twisted point I'm bringing up is its messed that you gotta have one of those to get it free, other whys shell out more cash. O-O? This is my account why are they not taking every precaution to keep it safe? That's great for those of you who can afford that but not for the rest of us! You can argue all day and night with me but my point still remains, not even Sony was this greedy and sly... The reason I got pissed about the languages. I am bi Lingual I tried 1 time to assist this Russian who was simply asking where he could find the vendors on taris. His channel was empty atm considering it was late where he lives. I GOT flamed for speaking it and trying to answer his question... I nearly got reported... how is this right when I was trying to do some thing nice, I said one damn sentence worth of Russian and a bunch of idiots start going nuts. Granted yes I could've have whispered it. But atm I was already in a private convo and didn't feel like tabbing it.
  14. The point is I mean no insult to any one or their views but theirs some wrongs being done here towards the players, and some bonuses being handed out for having a bigger pocket book... As for the language thing, how is it right for others to bash and threaten none english speaking clients with reports and account bans. I understand if there spamming yes that can be annoying. But until those say "Russains or w/e" have there own servers I think some tolerance needs to be enforced. Rather then some redneck intolerant noob acting like a god or a moderator reporting some poor dutch guy for asking a question in his language in general. Again excuse MY grammar but this whole debate is sort of sad... English is in allot of places, but they sell the game in countries that dont primarily speak it also. So again some tolerance and none offensive behavior towards these folks would be better then reporting and banning them. This isnt WoW lets be better then they are towards there people. And for those of you who have no problems with how things are being done, I would lay odds your the ones with the bigger pocket books. So of course you wouldn't care.
