  1. No, the statement would be ridiculous if they didn't have content patches planned every few week, but they do, one coming up shortly along with the adventure zones. ESO isn't like Star Wars, where the new content is announced a year ahead of time with micro cartel market patches released to drain your money. So yeah, just because I said all the time, doesn't mean I was talking in past tense, it means they will have them all the time and in short time intervals. And your comment about time travel is sort of correct, but I'm not from the future, you're just hanging onto the past. But in case you still think that, you will be able to buy a hover board from the Cartel Market for around $15 between the times when little game content is added so don't worry!!!!! And the hype isn't going to settle down, the game is awesome and there's plenty of ways to play it to stay entertained.
  2. As a long time SWTOR player, ESO has already won. They have new content releases ALL the time. It may not have launched with a raid system you are used to, but that doesn't mean it won't be released. Actually, since it's a dedicated subscription based game, it will be released. TOR is a retarded cousin next to ESO in terms of toon builds, skill trees, crafting, pvp, character creation, and story based leveling with the option to grind at about the same pace. Lets continue, a changing landscape based on your actions, mount leveling, player driven economy not based off repair bills and cartel market items, public and instanced dungeons, timed end game raids with leader boards, multiple guild system (crafting guild, pvp/pve guild, social guild, trading guild, etc...), customizable interface, add ons, discoverable skill lines (vampire and werewolf) in game guild (Fighters, Mages, Undaunted, Thieves*, Dark Brotherhood* (in next content patch)). And that just touches on basic things. Crafting in itself kills this game. You can learn multiple styles including daedric and primal, enchanting, alchemy, cooking, woodworking etc.. and you learn armor and weapon traits by breakdown to add to your products. Customized super potions, tons of customized enchantments, harvesting everything etc... Sorry to say, with new content being released every few weeks instead of every 6 months, it's an obvious choice. And if you want to use that one build for your class in end game or pvp, not use hybrid specs, and be forced into cookie cutter techniques to accomplish anything, then that's your decision. One factions quest lines and areas are already larger than SWTOR, and you can then do Veteran content in the other ones!!! AND its a MEGA SERVER! Not gonna touch on it all, but I will say this in closing. Sorry Star Wars, I love you, but the force is weak in Bioware. I'm switching to a continuously evolving world, where new content isn't just a difficulty, or a planet the size of a daily area... Where the world evolves around you as you progress... Where the in game markets is where I can repair my gear and feed my horse, not buy a $20 mount or recolored outfit.... Where the obvious choice is just that.. obvious. Bye SWTOR, and see you all when the choice becomes more clear to you... more than likely in a couple months when ESO content shadows over the last 2+ years SW content and you're still waiting for the new instance that drops the same gear you had 2 months ago.
  3. To think, even for a second, that this will stay PvP exclusive is crazy and humorous. Let's break it down, and excuse me if this has already been stated. 1: Most players, and this is generalizing the entire population, PvP during 10-54 and then stop because it becomes boring and too difficult to compete against hardcore PvPers and the reward for doing so isn't worth anything beyond getting a few relics. 2: PvP is broken. How is a system where you can take level 45 blue gear, wear it at max level, and have it bolstered to be better than the ranked gear you have to grind out, at all functional? PvP now is about finding the exploit or advantage and repeating it against players for a rating. If they want skill based PvP, make everyone equal in stats all across the board (no bolster bs) AND THEN you can reward unique styles and mounts. Not a unique creature, but a unique skin (not just the color, add armor plates or glowies). Until then, PvP mostly rewards the exploiters. 3: As stated above, a Rancor is highly coveted and PvP is not. PvP will NEVER have such a highly coveted reward unique to themselves. 4: PvE is the main focus of the game. Sorry if you have different opinions, but they are just that: opinions. If this were not true then servers would not be set up PvE and PvP... everything would be PvP. 5: No money to be made by being nice to the minority of the game. 6: Exploits... wait, did I cover that already? Just to touch again, how would you like it if you spend a million dollars developing PvP arenas, armors, stats etc... just to have somebody look for the one way you can bypass everything and gain an advantage (like PvPing naked back in the day or the current lvl 45 blue gear).. I think they find it hard to develop a part of the game that is constantly trying to be exploited and rendering their work null, only to have to redesign everything again because people ***** about every little thing. Call it their fault for poor design, I say it's yours for trying to exploit and constantly complaining about everything they do. I could go on but this is just supposed to be a reminder of why nothing of any real value will be made PvP exclusive. Bioware knows that their PvP isn't that great, they wouldn't try and force feed people this for an exclusive mount. And while it remains to be broken, and continues to get broken, PvE will have the greatest rewards and exclusivity.
  4. Just to update, Vandenreich has also completed 8 and 16 man SM in all operations, 16 man HM TFB downed 2nd boss. Also have Resurgent title and working on Dread Slayer. (To be included with the others on the list if you will) Thanks!
  5. I really don't care about the opinions of the same handful of people that scan the forums and disagree with whatever their view isn't. If you don't like my suggestion, make your own thread and post why you enjoy it. Then you can deal with the same type of people like you that disagree.
  6. Would also like to know how the devs felt about the pre-release if you have time to comment. Thanks!
  7. With the pre-release being highly controversial and to some players, including me, completely inappropriate, please do not do this as a reward or incentive to players ever again. This is a double edged sword, yes the players who fell within the time period are happy, not all of them though because it ruined some people's plans on grouping and enjoying the game more with friends and guildies who did not fall within the time allotted. It also allowed for the immature players to start their general chat and forum comments which is highly annoying and although /ignore took most of it away it seemed to be consistent throughout the 5 days. People not rewarded with this took it as punishment because of the way it was offered, on the public servers dangled in front of them for the good part of a week. In my opinion and in the opinion of some of the people I've talked to in-game (mixture of having the access and not), this kind of marketing has no place in an established game. If the game was coming out for the first time, level one and all that, then yes you reward some players with a head start before anyone else can access. That is a great way to draw people in early and make some nice money early on to help fund the project and make it better. One year into the game, it's a good way for people so get tired of the way things are working and drop subscription, make long term players angry and start the path to un-subbing, and just creating a storm in general among the players. I know something like this opens me up for negative commentary, but the majority of my disappointment has died down and I've removed the heavy negative tone from my suggestion so take it easy on jumping straight to the "it was only 5 days" and "don't qq because you missed it" comments. Look at this from the perspective of the community as a whole, whether you have it or not, and you may just agree that this kind of promotion does not belong in this game ever again. I'm a long time subscriber and plan to be for a great while longer, love the game, the community isn't bad and the ones that are can be tolerated for the most part so please Bioware, play to the majority and keep this game great! This issue will be gone tomorrow I know, I just want to see that it never comes up again. Thanks!
  8. Continue your flaming though, don't let me stop you. This is what's going to stick out to BW when they read the suggestions thread. Controversy is great for getting something removed in the long run.
  9. Such heated debate from people who don't have problems with the game. It doesn't matter, the points have been made to BW, and results are never usually instant. This pre-access had no place in an already established MMO and certainly not on public servers where early payment gives takes away an even playing field for the general population. Was I expecting things to change overnight? Definitely not. Will this promotion ever be released again? I'll put my money on NO. With everyone calling CS, putting in tickets, overloading them with problems, both real and fake, BW will never do this again. If anything, all the posts, tickets and calls will make sure something like this will never happen again. I know the "your self-serving" comments and the don't speak for what people want comments are coming, but honestly, I don't care and your all hypocrites. The only reason you post on the forums isn't to support your community, it's to get YOUR opinions across and make sure everyone knows your right. Forum posts are all self-serving in their own rights. Being a part of seeing this early access BS never happens again, whether I got it or not, is fine by me and the opinions of forum whores does not bother me in the least, in fact it's kind of funny that it bothers people who already have this so much because having their unfair advantage from a stupid promotion would be unfair to them.... This is a pay-to-win feature with a time limit put on it, no matter how you look at it. And for the, "it's only 5 days" argument, you know just as well as anyone else that 5 days in a MMO is plenty of time to grab the tactical advantage of not only gear, but the economy as well.
  10. The fact that this post isn't up to "professional forum standard" or however you may put it is irrelevant. The points I made about expansions that "I have played" does not put me in a category of a person who has only ever played WoW, and does not in the least bit float towards the idea that it's the only game I talk about. If this instantly comes to mind, you've either never played anything but this game and WoW and know no other "defense", or it's simply the only thing you could gather from this and you need to increase your intelligence somehow. Biased opinions tend to include a bit of ranting. This isn't wikipidia, this isn't anything professional, its a "General Forums thread". The fact people are writing columns upon columns in this to say I'm wrong for wanting more out of an expansion is hilarious in itself. In a month half of you posting against me will be right here with me saying you want more as well, unless they do something about expanding further and faster than they have been. Call my opinions lies, inaccurate, false whatever, it doesn't change the fact it's an opinion. Saying things we're never said in interviews that were was ridiculous in the first place, furthering it by saying "well things change" doesn't change the fact it was said before. As for my initial statement about patch or expansion: I still believe this was an intended patch, they charged due to FTP changes, and if they wanted to go a little further and add a bit more to it, polish the already existing content with more bug fixes and maybe did something a bit more exciting with the launch of it, I'd consider it more an expansion. Price is irrelevant, I never said anything about how much I have to pay, it was simply the principle of paying with given content and original design. They could have made this a patch, and did something else for a major expansion. I personally don't like the mini-expansion every year route, and I believe it'll be another year until we get another.
  11. Wanting more from a company does not make any of the community look bad. I'm pretty sure the devs themselves aren't that pleased that this game is going as slowly as it is either. And I can almost guarantee that subs will drop in a month or two drastically again. Then what? Those who stayed silent and kept the critique to themselves can say "Well, we tried... kinda" Roars are responded to, not whispers, especially with a gaming company.
  12. Argument: Just because he said it, didn't mean that he meant that's what they were planning or wait... no they changed their minds and you shouldn't listen to what people say right away errr..... maybe it didn't change but uhhh... It is what it is when they sell it..... That's why authors don't let people read their books until they're finished, artists don't show off half finished pieces, and professional musicians don't release half completed songs. A simple we don't know, but there will be new content would have sufficed. Being as specific as he was during the process usually entails that a bit of development already went into it and he was giving a spoiler out. If your going to nit pick someones side argument, at least have a viable reasoning for it, not "They can do whatever they want, they're devs, who cares what they said before"
  13. I like your style. I'm still going to play it personally. I think it's hilarious that such a huge deal is made about wanting more from an expansion. So many people acting like they're devs on the BW team needing to defend the product to the death. A squeaky wheel gets the grease after all. Why wouldn't you want more from something you enjoy so much?
  14. Good job on the part 2. Heres where it says this wasn't going to be an expansion and just a patch. Around 4 mins. Nice job on your cite though btw.
  15. I don't see how this changes that it was originally stated to be free... In fact I'm pretty sure I was speaking past tense, which means they said it in the past, not necessarily recently. I didn't post 'It should be free because they said it would be', I said it was planned originally as a patch and now they call it an expansion...
