  1. I like the changes-but I would be opposed to making Assault Spec a direct copy of the vanguard tree. Assault spec needs work but I don't think that's the way to fix it.
  2. My go to name for all MMO's Toomes. My second trooper was Node.
  3. Spoilers about Jaxo below
  4. I haven't seen any noticeable difference in survivability since 1.2. Our survivability vs melee or other classes with short interrupts has always been bad. That normally would be fine, except we're not exceptionally good against anyone, either. The problem I've always had with the class in PVP has been that the reliance on other players to interrupt healers while you focus them, train melee off you, and protect you, has always been immense. The class is simply more of a support role as gunnery than anything else, which it shouldn't be as a (nearly) pure DPS spec. Combat Medic has been my go to spec for PVP for some time because of this. Prior to the nerfs, we were undoubtedly the kings of PVP healing. We're still solid, but I feel like scoundrel is better overall now. PVE - I'm in a good spot. Doing 1400-1500 parsed with mostly rakata and some columi in Denova. EDIT- I should mention that as far as PVE is concerned, I feel the class description is accurate. For PVP, the class definitely needs tweaks.
  5. Jorgan is not a tank, therefor he does not buff this threat. Since his DPS is probably inferior to you, you take all the aggro. You found the solution though, if it's not working for you dont use him. There's only a few missions where you have no choice in companion.
  6. Yes. People that are out of your range will be grayed out on your UI, but that's the only indicator. It's tough sometimes.
  7. He's decent, but nothing to write home about. You should be able to get those stats with cent or champ gear easily. Last voidstar I had an exceptional run, 105K damage and 515k healing, and im pretty crappy. I dont even CC right,.
  8. I remember when I first started doing MC when they released it, which coincidentally was months after the game came out. It took us hours when we first started to clear trash to the first few bosses. The bosses themselves were little more than giant HP balls that curse people sometimes. Wiping was the worst....with 40 people to rez or run back and having to buff every person or group seperately...pretty awful. Sometimes up to 15-20 minutes to fully recover. Not to mention even with the raid group in heavy fire resist Ragnaros was nigh impossible until they fixed his "by fire be purged". Endgame in SWTOR is far more cohesive at its current level. People complain about not having any content, but honestly there's a pretty solid set of dailies you can do and Ops if your guild has 8 warm bodies(for normal) and 8 good players (for HM+). Ops in SWTOR have been some of the most fun i've had "raiding" since BC in wow.
  9. Good on all points. I wouldn't go so far as one token for all classes, but force/tech or only dropping useful tokens sounds reasonable. I also definitely want the bonus bosses to be worth doing. It makes me sad so many groups skip them. They're usually quite fun. Cheers,
  10. Ha, that makes sense. I don't really have an inner a**hole. I rolled a sith for a few hours to see what the big deal was, only made me hate the faction more.
  11. That's hilarious, most people complain the only worthwhile thing in this game is leveling.
  12. I know, I'm heavily pro-republic. I hate the sith faction with every ounce of my being.
  13. I agree, when I read the OP's post I figured he was in europe, but if he's in eastern timezone then he needs to DIAF.
  14. I've encountered exactly 9 republic officials that are corrupt or traitors going from 1-50, including the large amount from the trooper class story. At level 13 on my Sith I have encountered about 10-15. I don't know where this misconception of "Republic are weak/traitors/corrupt" comes from. Plus, we're winning.
  15. You're not done with act 1 yet.
  16. Dorne for sure. While Jorgan is a very competent officer, I see him as being too strong willed to be my XO. We'd have too many conflicts of will and would just cause more tension. That said, I'd love to have him commanding his own squad working next to me. I just can't see him and me working as a good commanding team. Dorne seems to be a good match. She matches her knowledge of opponents and regulation well with my trooper's gut reaction instincts and feelings.

    DPS-do's

You're supposed to kill the marauders. The tanks take on Champs since they hit hard and can be interrupted. Cheers,
  18. Exactly. It's alarmingly easy to shut down a Gunnery commando with smart use of LOS/Interrupts. Cheers,
  19. They have said that. They are aware. And they have not yet claimed to have fixed this particular issue. I think the primary issue is that Full Auto/Mortar Volley in the very early beta were each 4 ticks of damage. It was, pretty OP. They nerfed it down to 3 but dont seem to have properly fixed the animations yet. The only consolation for me is that they seem to start/end damage when they're supposed to, even if the numbers haven't shown yet. I've not yet experienced this issue that people claim of "clipping" full auto. Cheers,
  20. Two of my best here... Havoc Squad right when I finished Battle for Corellia. Close up with Dorne + Forex in the background. About a month old now. Sadly, now that I'm raiding I'm back to being rainbow trooper. Cheers,
  21. I have both, my vanguard recently hit 50 and my commando was 50 about dec 28th. Really enjoying the vanguard quite a bit more. Commando healing is fun, but the DPS tree is pretty uninteresting. The only reason I will be sticking with Commando as my main is that the DPS is a lot better and we dont need any tanks. Cheers,
  22. Coming both from someone who has healed as a Commando healer, and does HM/Nightmare ops regularly with one (i DPS during ops), Merc/Mando heals are in a good place. As it has been noted, Sages/Sorcs have much better AOE. They lack heavily, however, in tank heals. Our Commando focuses on the tank and the melee with his kolto bomb, plus he has a nice external CD in the form of Supercharge cells to help the tank survive burst outside of his own CD's. The sage covers the rest of the raid. Works really well. I don't have much experience with Sawbones/Operative healers, so I will not comment on that. TLDR; Merc/Commando healers are fine. Cheers,
  23. On the subject of havoc being abandoned....
  24. Keep plugging along, there's plenty more story to come.
