  1. Transfers won't solve the problem with low-pop servers, merges will. And I'm so not paying for a transfer... BW have to fix this, not me.
  2. During early access they added too few servers, and at launch they added too many. Basically.
  3. I have but one complaint - I want a server with a healthy population without having to reroll. THAT's not done in a flash, my friend.
  4. Re-install Win7 on SSD, install TOR on SSD. That's as fast as your current PC will ever be Freeing up a few MB of memory here and there and disabling a process or two COULD make a measurable difference (most likely in load time), but probably not noticable. Full-screen processes already get full CPU/GPUpriority. But it's generally a good rule to not run stuff you'll never need, so I'm all for this guide
  5. Oh yeah I'd roll Jar-Jar and really get into character, walking backward into groups of mobs in flashpoints, pressing buttons you really shouldn't etc etc. If that wouldn't be fun, I don't know
  6. You do realise the time difference, right? They're not all Light in the afternoon, but still... too low, that is true. Same in EU.
  7. Weird thing is, some space ports let you use the speeder all the way to your ship's door Oh well, I can see why this whole thing hasn't been very high on their list... They'll fix it soon enough I think, there are more pressing matters with the game right now.
  8. Uhu, and Star Wars was never intended for kids, right?
  9. How is transfers gonna solve low-pop servers? They would just be even more empty. If a free transfer opens you simply can't trust everybody on the realm to actually transfer, that will never happen. No, we need merges, because this game has probably stopped growing :/
  10. I love swtor, but I do not love all the running in big hallways, and big walls IN THE MIDDLE of the hallways (those are like a trademark of bioware. Do you see this in real life? Of course not, that would be insane), and space ports, and fighting your way into the end of the cave, then fighting your way OUT of the cave...
  11. I absolutely love the game, it's AWESOME. But I think you're wrong, the game is not filling up :/ They need to start merging, they can't keep having all these low-pop servers. Transfers is a band-aid solution that won't stick very long.
  12. I have faith in that the game will be around for many years, but they should avoid giving more people a reason to leave. The faster they merge servers for healthier populations, the better.
  13. You need glasses, badly. All EU servers on Heavy?? Has not happened since BEFORE launch when there were too few servers. I've played almost every day, usually prime time (which is 19.00 to 23.00, I'd say) Why would you claim something that everybody on EU know is wrong? Pretty stupid.
  14. Haven't "quit" but I do not have an active sub now. Way too few people on my realm, and I've come too far to reroll. I did exactly what BW said regarding where to roll, but little did I know it was gonna be like this. In the meantime I'll play something else, and when/if they fix it, I'll consider if I want to come back or not.
  15. Lolwut? The queues took a lot more than 15 minutes in the beginning, and how could anybody NOT know that - you can see all servers in EU and US at any time. And apparently you missed it completely, but BW were encouraging people to roll on light servers. Even at prime time most servers are now down to Standard, which is way too low for a healthy population. If you have 50 on Imperial Fleet on weekend evenings, you know something's wrong. So basically, everything you've said in this thread so far is pretty much 100% wrong.
  16. I want server merges, not transfers as first priority. The problem is too many servers!
  17. The real problem is that players are spread across too many servers now. Simply opening up for transfers will not solve anything at all. Question remains, will they actually cater to the player, or try to save face and wait it out a year? Imo they won't save face by waiting it out, it's an open game, everybody can see what's going on here. Save face by doing what's best for the players, I think that's what's gonna pay off in the long run. Ironic thing is, I did exactly as BW said - 4 - FOUR times I rerolled to avoid queues. Turned out to be a big mistake, as I now find myself on a server with very low pop. Should have stayed on the servers that had a queue back then, they're on Heavy now which is perfect. Not resubbing until this is solved. *sigh*
  18. That response is from when we had the opposite problem. Or he simply didn't say why he wanted a transfer. That wasn't so hard, was it?
  19. You do know this has happened with other MMOs, right? You make money on an MMO by keeping players happy. Players who suffer quit. Because it's just a game. And games are supposed to be fun.
  20. I know, and you're right. Save face and lose subs, OR do what's right imo, and get the merges going while there's still people around.. I think he last option will earn more money in the long run, actually, not to mention server maintenance.. That's just my guess, tho.
  21. We need merges before even more people leave. A server is a small society, and you need a certain number of people around for things to function as intended, be it economy, heroics, operations, pvp and what not.
  22. Uhu? And that's why most servers are Light / Standard now? And that's why we need merges?
  23. I agree with merges. Mind you, there won't be more people around in the future - quite the contrary.
  24. We all know by now Light Standard Heavy Very Heavy Full Full (with queue) Standard ain't good at all, that means low population. Mine's been standard since I rolled there, I usually see around 50-60 on fleet. Needless to say, it can be very hard to get a FP going. It is not enough, by a longshot.
