Let me start off by saying , I am a hudge fan of star wars , and i pre ordered the game and everything .{upgrades and all just to play }
I love what bioware did with the cutscenes and everything , but the game is severely lacking in alot of areas that are key to mmorpg's.
First off there is no and i mean no reason this game could NOT have a serious looking for group interface. There is no reason what so ever why we should have hundreds of people bantering for hours and hours in general chat about LFG this and NEED TANK that. Its sad and a dated tactic for a time sink . Even free mmorpg's have a lfg interface that sets groups up . {global agenda , apb reloaded etc etc} So why should we expect less from a PAID mmo?
Second there is alot wrong with pvp. Healers are broken amongst other things .
A 1-49 group for pvp areas then BOOSTING low lvl noobs to the point they are on par with a lvl 49 ???? I'm really sorry but that has to be the worst idea in mmo history . Why not break up the groups by brackets of 10????? {eg lvl 1 -10} Well the person in charge of that one called in sick so the intern took over . I spent a whole match getting slammed by a lvl 23 and i am 49 which is just retarded im sorry . Theres just no respect for players hard work in lvls when anyone can be auto boosted.
Third I know all the hard work that they did in making the game . I followed the development news and kept my ear to the ground till it was made......... BUT.....and i cant stress it enough....sigh . The space combat or rather lack there of if the worst aspect of the game period . I'll say it , GALAXIES had the space combat locked down , and before anyone opens their mouth and says that "this mmo is based off kotor and NOT galaxies" let me say i know . But why not combine things people have known were good ideas ???I mean ALOT of people here came from galaxies . Why anyone would think that a hold down left click and move the mouse mini game would be better ????? i dont know you got me there {glares at interm} It needsa serious overhawwwwwllllllll . {takes off hick hat} I was really looking forward to all the pvp encounters id have in space .......yknow ...... it being starwars and all .....
All that being said , i loved the story the characters have and the role each played.....
but pvp is broken , arenas are broken , no looking for group interface in any way , and space is garbage by comparisson . on top of all that there are thousands or races in this story and i can only be a small handfull {no wookies ?? get real} . I'm trying to hang on and wait for improvement . I know starting mmos always have issues , but theres a breaking point where people start feeling cheated .
I think ill play some free mmo and check up in summer ........still not sure tho....
