I have done very well with slicing and UT. There are 2 lvl 5 rich box slicing missions that I repeat continuously. One is ~1950 and the other ~2100 cost and they take 30 minutes or so to complete. I send Risha and Bowdar on those. Range of returns is 2400 - 6000k (high end on Risha). I send Corso and the ship driod out on UT missions for lvl5 metals. I have 5 companions, but only one can adventure with me. At my level only 3 can be otherwise engaged. Why not send them out? But my avg is closer to 500c per mission, not counting the bonus missions I keep or sell. And again, while I work I can not play the game, but logging in every now and then and clicking a button is worth it. And the missions I am running are 26-30 minutes in length. I can easily get 10 of them in X2 companions running them (I have my 3rd doing UWT) That is 10k with very little effort on my part. So to call it useless is going a bit far.

interesting. I have two different lvl 49-50 slicing missions that cost 14-1500 credits. One is Plug the Hople or leak or something, the other is Azure something or other. Both take about 30 minutes. I have been tracking for a couple days now and I have had one plug "failure" that returned only 1400 credits, the other 50 or so have all been profits. Returns range from 1600-2200 (100-700 profit) For azure I have had no losses and returns on the cases have been 1550 - 6230. yeah that 6230 must have been a bug or something, next one below that is 4170 and then 3882. But a number have been in the 2k and 3k range. Getting rich, no. But useless, not really. I just log in while at work and send Bowdaar and Risha out on these two missions again and again and again. Not like there is anything else to do. And while actually playing the game last night running around doing the Baldorra Bonus missions I picked up 31 cases and got 19k. Thats all profit.

For some reason, not all of them. There are some UWT missions that I have gotten and even after running them they dont go away, and if I get it again (I have gotten the same purple level 340 like 4 times now) I can't 'learn it' Maybe these couple I am thinking of are bugged?

i understand what you are saying, but doesn't that promote offshore credit sellers? If the only way to get a decent sized bank account is to paypal someone outside of the game, isn't that a bad thing?

What does WoW have to do with this? Are you saying that at level 50 you want to be able to fund everything just from slicing? I guess I will just have to wait and see when I get there. But for now slicing is paying to level my crafting skill.

i believe that you might get one in some of the lock boxes in Treasure Hunting.

What skill has missions in that price range? I think my most expensive UT/Slice ones are 3k

Supposed to be one gathering, one mission, one crafting. I tried not taking a crafting (had slice and UT) and couldn't 'train' anything other than a crafting skill.

Slicing isnt broken. it still turns a profit. The gross profits pre-nerf would just feed the off shore credit sellers.

Not to mention the fact that you cant get 3 gathering skills

Had had 400 slicing pre nerf. Does it make as much now, no of course not. but does it still turn a profit, yes. There are two class 6 missions, Plug and Azure. They both cost less then 1500 credits to run, take less than 30 minutes. I keep sending Risha on Plug and Bowdar on Azure. over 50 missions each so far. Avg is 500 profit. This does not include the missions/schematics I have also gotten (21 in all). I either give those to alts, or guild members. Havent tried selling any on the GTN yet.
