In Star Wars Galaxies, players actually determined the economy as all items would decay in pre-cu/nge. Resources and skills of crafters made your stuff better. Not this overly simplied reverse engineering crap with pure randomness to getting a new schematic. Everyone makes them same crap on this game. I made some of the best ever armor on Tarquinas, and could customize a set to desired needs of players. But to make sets top of the line, took a whole guild of people to help you. This game is all soloable for most of it, and can get by with a 8 person guild. SWG problem was SOE was slow at making more content, and players created everything on their own. PVP anyplace where two guilds meet by accident. Problem was that most players wanted to be Rebel, and forget that Imperials always should have more toys (At-st etc). Whiners and complaints made nerf after nerf, and those that were to dumb to figure out how to make top end gear complained about the crafting system. Jedi were the destruction of SWG in the end, because those of us that hologrinded and got jedi and others didnt complained a ton. Then when you mastered your jedi it was a supreme being, but remind me of how one or two Jedi Masters in the movies could walk through and wipe out a whole ship ? Obi-wan snuck through as an old man an entire death star, and Anakin Skywalker pawned an entire place single handed. Player bounties on your jedi made grinding your jedi a pain with falling way back on exp everytime you died, and forced alot of grinding in the middle of no where by yourself (like you would expect for the time line). You could grind faction, craft and make unique items based on your resources and skills, run theme parks, and visit any part of a planet you wanted to. Player mounts, vehicles, player cities, customized houses and cities, cantinas where people could socialize, and much more. Where on SWTOR can you socialize, make unique things, or go where u want to ?
