As I said (sounds stupid coming from a guy who has played this game a lot) but It was the first time I'd experienced pvp on a planet and I panicked. Don't even know what to look for really when flagged for pvp lol anytime I have seen the count down I have run out of range so it stopped. I was not aware you could even pvp that way, now I am aware of it I can be more careful. But I still think it's silly to have open world pvp on a pve server. But anyway many thanks to all who commented, at the very least I can't say I didn't get any good information or help cause I got lots of it lol.

I am going to do a lot of research on this matter, specially recording gameplay. I will return to the same place with several toons and try other areas that have cross faction missions, if it was me I will accept responsibility for it but if there is some kind of new bug then I think it really needs to be fixed quick.

I agree it should never have been there, I guess I just stupidly panicked and messed up cause I wasn't ready for it. I just started to scan and was attacked, I never seen anyone else there, it looked empty so they must of been in stealth. I never got a PVP flag count down though which was weird and I never checked to see if I was flagged when I started scanning as I didn't think I did anything to get flagged.

Yea I know there is no point to it, and I am like 99.9% sure my name plate was blue when I started scanning, and I'm sure the other guy who got attacked was blue too. It was so fast though I can't be 100%. I am however 200% sure I was not flagged for PVP when I entered the bunker and started the mission, and I'm 200% sure I was not flagged when I finished stage 1 of the bonus mission (kill 30 Czerka wokers/droids).

I just revived myself at the med center and abandoned the quest. All I really wanted was a little information. I did not realize you could PVP anywhere you wanted to on a PVE server I though you had to be in a designated PVP zone. I thought that on a PVE server all missions were... Well PVE (funnily enough). And I thought if you wanted PVP planet wide you had to be on a PVP server, I mean isn't that kind of the point of having dedicated servers for them? It was just weird for me because after playing the game for so long it was the first time I ever came across PVP on a mission on a PVE server. The whole point of me choosing a PVE server was to do missions without having to be bothered with PVP. I like PVP but only in warzones and starfighter not when I'm doing missions in PVE. It is possible when I killed the 3 droids I tagged someone and they attacked back when I started scanning, I didn't even see them there, I just thought it was only PVE on missions as that had never happened before, It even states on the server select screen at the bottom that on a PVE server PVP is only done in designated zones and that mission is nowhere near a PVP zone, least I thought not as I have done it at least 20 times before and only ever seen the same faction players there. I wasn't near an IMP base nor near the smugglers den so I was just shocked more than anything to see PVP in that area on a PVE server that's all lol.

According to some earlier post from people there are some exploits and ways they trick you into flagging yourself.

Ok I just read the server rules and technically on a PVE server you are not meant to PVP outside a designated PVP zone so there ya go, weather or not I tagged em by accident or they used an exploit they shouldn't really have been PVPing there in the first place.

Really bad people still use exploits when it's a relatively easyish game that has actual PVP zone and warzones, those guys were clearly yellow therefore flagged for PVP nowhere near a PVP zone, I honestly didn't think you could do that. I believed you had to be in a PVP zone or warzone. I actually have no idea how to flag myself for PVP other than a PVP zone, Imp base, Starfighter and warzones lol. But I thought you could only PVP in a zone and once you left the zone you were unflagged. If you ask me that should be that case as I don't want PVP getting in the way of my questing. There are after all PVP servers specially for that.

Now this is nasty, if this is possible then they could have done this to me and waited til I was scanning to make a move, while I was scanning Keira was out of my sight for a few seconds so her plate could have changed without me seeing it... Maybe?

If that's the case then it's just wrong as I was hammered like 3 or 4 times with no chance, I ended up so mad I stupidly abandoning the quest and that's near the end of a long quest line

I try to be as honest as I can, I just didn't wanna open a report in case it was something that was able to happen cause that would have been a red-face moment for sure lol, but good idea on the recording, I will definitely start doing that. That way I will see if it was my fault or not for sure.

This actually only the second time I have ever ran into imps on a PVE planet (first time was on Hoth when I was going to pick up a scavenging item not realizing it was near an imp base but that was years ago lol. I do have the ability to record and will start doing so on any crossover missions to see if it happens again.

I understand it seems a lil shady, I played through Beta and for about 2 years, took a break and been back now subbing for about 4 months and honestly this is the first time ever I have been in any PVP outside a warzone and to my knowledge I didn't attack a flagged player, I was scanning. There is a small chance I may have gotten flagged at some point but I never noticed Keira's nameplate change colour to the best of my knowledge it was blue. I'm 39 and been playing games on and offline a long time. Not even really complaining was just looking for info as it was weird, I thought maybe it had changed during my break or something and I wasn't aware of it.

I was doing part 2 of the bonus mission (scanning the items, I was scanning the drill in the bottom left) when I was interrupted by something, next thing I know there was an Imp Marauder on me and I died, I definitely seen another blue name tagged player getting attacked. Happened so fast though, had no chance and I'm a lvl 33 he was only 20. I revived and moved to scan again as it looked like they were gone but I was re-attacked by 3 of em and died. Revived to the nearby med center (near the 5th relay tower and walked back but was attacked and killed again by a few imps, each time I died very quick and had no chance despite being around 10-12 lvls above them.

So Kira could have done something to get me flagged.
