  1. In Quinn's case I think she was more startled, because after she realized what happens she seems completely content with the decision. People she actually knows and maybe cares about, like Theron, being killed or left to die actually does cause her to become more unhappy, but even those she seems to be able to get over. I think it's possible Lana might turn against a Dark Side character, but it would have to be something really bad.
  2. I'm a story player first and foremost but personally, I actually quite like it. I was terrible at first, but after I learned the controls I got half way decent at it. I'm really bad at regular PVP, and find I detest going through the weekly mission, but I've found Galactic Starfighter to actually be a somewhat enjoyable alternative. At least when there is not long a team of well prepared veterans constantly curbstomping everyone else in their path for several hours.
  3. So Bey'wan always reacts the same way? Did you assign security to watch him or just angrily tell him to leave?
  4. So we got a new round of emails for completing Hearts and Minds (and also one more per faction for completing the Dantooine Quest). I've only completed the Republic side, but from what I remember, we get: - An email from Tau talking about her face being plastered all over the Republic Fleet. - A message from Daerun (or Oggurrub if you deliberately messed up) talking about the speech you gave to RNN. - A message from Bey'wan regarding the Frigate the Imperial defectors stole. - A message from Koth thanking you if you chose to help him. I'm not sure what happens if you chose not to provide him with those ships. What about the Empire? Does it make a difference how you treat Bey'wan when he retires?
  5. I think the difference is likely whether you have more LS or DS points. Or it's possible that you may just need to stay above Dark 1.
  6. I tested out the beginning of the mission and found that banished Theron and killed Koth are both correctly absent from the meeting. The Paxton Rall bug apparently affects every character, though.
  7. I don't know how many people are in this position, but can anyone confirm that Alliance Alerts with Bey'wan do actually still work after Hearts and Minds?
  8. I still haven't taken my Sith Warrior through the mission, I've heard it's buggy when it comes to Koth. Does he always show up, or is that a bug that only sometimes triggers?
  9. Yeah, I expect most places of TOR to just be stuck in their original period of time, but Odessen seems to be the place that is always set in the "present" and thus goes through changes. That's why the question of Bey'wan actually leaving is such a big deal. It would be bad if they inadvertently break the Alliance Alerts he's a part of, and Dr. Lokin is someone who can only be obtained during Rakghoul Resurgence, so not as many people might have gone through the effort to get him on all of their characters.
  10. But what about the dialogue that he is involved in the case of those characters' Alerts, for example?
  11. I'm guessing that there are only two possible outcomes for how the Republic interview is taken by people?
  12. If we assume that characters being killable is in fact the reason for them being "bricked," then surely the same would be true for them leaving peacefully. A character who leaves the Alliance for any reason would be unlikely to feature very heavily in future content. And compared to killabe characters, I don't see the unkillable characters making a much bigger impact if they are still optional. For example, DS Jaesa is killable and Ashara is not. I would be very surprised if Ashara or any other character that can only be non lethally rejected plays a much bigger role than characters who can be lethally rejected, especially since lately they tend to be class specific so most Outlanders don't meet them at all. Similarly, Elara is always alive, so they could work her into the story more than Quinn, but she still only joins the Alliance for half the players. I certainly get why it is frustrating for Koth fans that he's had such a small role, especially since I do think Bioware should have been able to do at least a little better with him, even with their limited resources. But at the same time, Koth's story in particular is one that I don't really see how it could have played out any differently, broadly speaking. If Koth betrays the Alliance, his reason is completely justified and in character. And I think the fact that he can make a moral stand is one of the best things about his character. The alternative would have been writing Koth to always stick by you, no matter what. The only way for that to happen, would to be prevent the Player Character from ever doing anything bad that would drive him away (which wouldn't be a good idea, it would amount to removing Darkside options) or make it so that Koth doesn't mind that you start bombing his homeworld, which I think would make him a dramatically weaker character than he is now. I don't really see an alternative that doesn't undermine either the Outlander or Koth. I'm hoping that the coming story still gives us the options to be variously ruthless or merciful, and that when appropriate the other characters will respond to that when it really matters.
  13. So if I've seen that Bey'wan leaves Imperial characters, which makes sense, but what happens to Alliance Alerts that he was an integral part of? Such as Rusk or Lokin? My understanding is that Bey'wan sticks around for now and still operates like he did before, but is this still going to be the case come Onslaught? It would be weird if he retires but then still acts like he always did indefinitely.
  14. Yeah I'm pretty sure sparing Gnost Dural makes the difference.
  15. So I saw some people do Hearts and Minds and Bey'wan Aygo mentions Paxton's Fleet helping with their patrols. My Consular did recruit Paxton, but Bey'wan never mentions him. I'm not sure why that would be. It can be because I didn't pick every single dialogue option before agreeing to take him on, is it?
  16. I have noticed that Chapter 8 is a good way to test if the Lana romance is bugged. Or at least there was a Lana romance bug that can be dealt with in Chapter 8 sometimes. If you are able to kiss her at the start, before you go to meet Heskal, the Lana romance is working properly. If you don't kiss her after the flirt, then something is wrong and she won't appear to save you at the end. But I've noticed I've been able to get it work properly if I restarted the chapter before finishing it for the first time.
  17. I think the fact that everyone consistently calls him Valkorion in Kotfe and Kotet is just to simplify the conversations and/or avoid confusing players. I feel like it would be more realistic that the Republic and Imperial characters would all refer to him by the name they knew him as instead of Valkorion, but Valkorion was the name associated with those expansions. It's not 100% clear why Valkorion's behavior changed, but I thought the idea was simply that he got tired of the act after a while.
  18. I'm guessing Theron learning is going to be one of the first questions of the coming expansion. Or at least when it comes to who learns about it or not, he'd probably be near the top of the list.
  19. That part made perfect sense. He knows Tau is conflicted, but he believes in her. He wants her to believe she is a good Jedi as well, and he believes that becoming a teacher is something she can do to learn more about herself and pass along wisdom to others. He also knows the Imperials are about to strike and can't guarantee they will be able to speak again.
  20. Jedi Consular: Nadia. They're finally together again, and after they realized their feelings for eachother, Nadia promised her they don't have to lose any more time together. Every so often, she briefly switches to Arcann, Iresso and Qyzen, though. Sith Warrior: Jaesa. He is finally reunited with his wife. And if there's anything they love doing together, it's destroying the Jedi. Vette is his best friend, though, so sometimes she comes out too. Jedi Knight: His wife Kira isn't back yet, so he tends to stick with Rusk, T7, or Choza Raabat. Smuggler: Bowdaar, (although that's because she hasn't yet reached the part of the story where Corso and Risha return). Trooper: M1-4X, usually. Although he does like to bring out Elara, Jorgen and Yuun, too. Imperial Agent: Lana is her love interest, so mostly her. Although she also tries to spend time with her old companions as they become available. Bounty Hunter: Mostly his wife, Mako. Although, sometimes Torian and Blizz too. Inquisitor: Khem Val, I guess?
  21. Yeah my understanding was that wasn't meant to be a secret, but it was just the first time the game's story dialogue acknowledged his name.
  22. This. I really really want to see more of our old companions, but I think Tau is some of the best work they've done in the game, especially among the newer characters.
  23. Having seen Alita: Battle Angel, I thought its strengths potentially lend itself well to adapting an Old Republic story. Even so, I'm skeptical. First and foremost, I am not sure we have any reason to think an official Old Republic era movie will bear any resemblance at all to the KOTOR setting we have come to know, regardless of who was in charge of the project. If this is true, though, it does suggest that the Game of Thrones guys are writing a separate series of movies, which I have to say is a relief for me. I would have been even more worried if they were the ones hired for it.
  24. There is music from the OT in SWTOR. For example, I remember hearing at least twice in the game.
  25. It is in Chapter 9 of Kotfe. When you get to the party, you have the option to speak to one of the three people there. You have to pick the flirt version for Lana and you two will go off and have a private conversation. If you pick the flirt option in that conversation you will commit to the Lana romance. This option only becomes available if you've flirted with her before that chapter though. I think a sign that the Lana romance is in progress is if you can give her a kiss in Chapter 8 before you go off to meet Heskal.
