  1. Greetings. I have recently returned to SWTOR (after computer problems that are now fixed) and looking to guild a Jedi/Republic roleplaying guild. I have been playing (on and off) since the very first day or early game access, and I was involved in a few of the betas before SWTOR was officially released. I do plan on having a character of each class eventually, but currently I want to focus on my level 30 Jedi Shadow, Burcol. I've had him since the very first day of early game access but due to computer issues, I have managed to get round to finishing him off. So, enough blabbering. What am I looking for? I'm looking for a Jedi/Republic guild with a focus on RPing. I would eventually like to get into ops, too. I also have several ideas in mind that could benefit your guild, if you're looking for fresh ideas. If you think your guild is right for me, feel free to send me a mail or /whisper in game. My name in game is Burcol. I'll be on now for a little while longer if you want to catch me!
  2. Was you that Scotland TheBrave dude?
  3. True, I did update my driver and kept up to date with window updates, so I'm guessing it was either of the two. I mean, I'm not complaining.
  4. Around 18 months ago, my monitor would frequently spasm and artefact (split, black lines run all across the screen) whenever I played SWTOR. To fix this, all I had to do was restart my PC but as you can probably imagine, this made it pretty unbearable to play SWTOR. Since I came back a few days ago, I haven't had this issue. I would get it at least once when I tried to run the Black Hole dallies but when I did them yesterday, nothing happened and I could play fine. Was there an update that increased performance/bug fix for this particular issue recently? Also, I did start using AMD Gaming Evolved a few months ago and now use it to "optimize" SWTOR on max graphics. Could this help to have stopped the issue I was having? I hope I don't jinx myself for asking this.
  5. So it's called artifacting? Thanks! I had no idea what it was called. After searching for other issues from artifacting on SWTOR, I found this thread with a potential solution (considering I never update QuickTime.) here http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=3489571#post3489571 I'll try this tomorrow and post back here if it worked or not.
  6. Could anyone recommand a good power supply unit and graphics card that'll be able to fix this issue and still run TOR at max graphics with no lag?
  7. The only other games I play are Jedi Knight Jedi Academy, Minecraft and occasionally the SWGEmus. It has happened to me playing all three games in the past but very rarely, but it did happen while playing Jedi Knight Jedi Academy a few days ago, If it is a power supply and/or video card issue, I have a friend who will be able to assist in changing them, but I need to know which replacements will absolutely will fix this problem.
  8. I updated my driver about a week ago. I have the latest version. Also, I made a thread about this in the General Discussion boards at: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=6448439#post6448439
  9. Ok. So I've downloaded GPU Temp and ran it while on TOR. Just after the intro scene for the BH class finished, my screen split and the GPU Temp peaked at around roughly 47 degrees. I doubt it's a temperature issue because it reads that it was at around 47 degrees the entire time I was on TOR. Not increasing or decreasing dramatically while playing it.
  10. Sorry about those links, they should work now! I updated my driver about und a week ago and applied for e-mail notifications to tell me when an update for my driver is available. When this happened to me last time, I had turned my computer on and from the moment I turned it on to the moment this issue came up, it was only around 15 minutes. Also, about the power supply, my computer was built just over a year ago now and this issue started to occur around three or four months later, so I doubt it's an issue with the power supply. I'll download GPU Temp and check my case so everything is plugged in correctly, the cables are tucked away properly and that my graphics card is indeed receiving proper ventilation. I'll run TOR a little later on with GPU Temp running and post an update a little later on. Thanks for the reply!
  11. Hi. A few months ago, I started having a problem while running TOR. My computer monitor would keep ‘splitting’ and cover the screen with black horizontal lines, like this: http://s1341.photobucket.com/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0242_zps6da4bb7b.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0#/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0242_zps6da4bb7b.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0&_suid=137158421628408032352280978251 http://s1341.photobucket.com/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0242_zps6da4bb7b.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0#/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0241_zps06b6faf1.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0&_suid=137158421628408032352280978251 http://s1341.photobucket.com/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0242_zps6da4bb7b.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0#/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0240_zpse8fa8e63.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0&_suid=137158421628408032352280978251 http://s1341.photobucket.com/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0242_zps6da4bb7b.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0#/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0230_zps947eda79.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0&_suid=137158421628408032352280978251 I can fix this by restarting my computer. But when it happens, it makes TOR unplayable, as you can probably imagine. I originally thought this was an overheating issue. So after changing the position of my computer, giving it an extremely thorough cleaning out and installing an additional 120mm case fan, I tried TOR again. I played for a few hours on my Sith Warrior just doing dailies on Corellia and Illum. It ran perfectly. This issue didn’t happen once. I didn’t play the day later due to being busy. The next day I start a Bounty Hunter. The intro scene didn’t even finish and the issue came back. I checked my computer temperature and it was only 41 degrees, thus ruling out an overheating issue. So, could this be an issue with my graphics card and having to replace it or buy a new one? My friend built my computer after I brought the parts, which is the following: Sapphire HD 6950 "Dual Fan Edition" 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (ST500DM002) HDD Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) Intel Core i5-2300 2.80GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor OCZ ZS Series 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply Asus P8H61-M Intel H61 Chipset (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard Xigmatek Asgard Midi Tower Case – Black And the additional 120mm case fan I recently added: Scythe - Case Fan - 120 mm - 110 CFM - 1900 RPM - KAZE-JYUNI - SY1225SL12SH What do you guys think? Is it an issue with my graphics card, which will need to be replaced? Also, I use the Catalyst Control Center. If anyone else uses it, could it be something as simple as changing the settings on that?

  13. Sorry, but by electrical connections, do you mean something like this? http://www.wickes.co.uk/content/ebiz/wickes/invt/195635/Extension-Lead-4-Socket_large.jpg
  14. So after doing some tests with CPU-Z, I have come to the conclusion that that I am experiencing these problems because of overheating and/or lack of airflow. So with that in mind, and the parts I’m currently using for my computer, I am going to add a few additional fans to my computer. Those being this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Arctic-Cooling-2000RPM-Silent-Performance/dp/B007ZYJDE8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370123677&sr=8-1&keywords=f8+fan http://www.amazon.co.uk/ARCTIC-AFACO-120P0-GBA01-F12-PWM-120mm/dp/B002QVLBM2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370123682&sr=8-1&keywords=f12+fan With that in mind, will these two fans be compatible with my current computer so that once I get those two fans, I can just set them up straight away and not have to buy anything else to make them compatible? Or does anyone have any other recommendations as to which fan(s) I should get? Cheers.
  15. Hi. So a number of months ago I started experiencing a problem. This problem only occurs whenever I ran TOR. My screen would mess up. I have taken a few pictures off my phone to show you what I mean. http://s1341.photobucket.com/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0242_zps6da4bb7b.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0#/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0242_zps6da4bb7b.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0&_suid=1370113037658016615169270960317 http://s1341.photobucket.com/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0241_zps06b6faf1.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1#/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0241_zps06b6faf1.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1&_suid=1370113076415031289800144890334 http://s1341.photobucket.com/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0240_zpse8fa8e63.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2#/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0240_zpse8fa8e63.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2&_suid=1370113074508011181649662987097 http://s1341.photobucket.com/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0230_zps947eda79.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3#/user/Zurcol/media/IMG_0230_zps947eda79.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3&_suid=13701130349280544685461374486 I made a prior thread to try and get some help from customer support, but to no avail (which can be found at here http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=578150). Though, from the replies on that thread, I now think I am experiencing this problem because my graphics card may be out of date or burnt out. My graphics card is this: "Sapphire HD 6950 "Dual Fan Edition" 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card" The other parts of my custom built computer are: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (ST500DM002) HDD - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-252-SE Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-094-KS Intel Core i5-2300 2.80GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-363-IN OCZ ZS Series 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-055-OC Asus P8H61-M Intel H61 Chipset (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-455-AS Xigmatek Asgard Midi Tower Case – Black -http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-002-XG So, this leads me onto the main reason I made this thread. I want to upgrade my graphics card so that I can run TOR and not have this problem anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which graphics card to upgrade to that will be compatible with the other parts of my computer that I have listed above? And aside from upgrading my graphics card, should I consider adding another, or two additional fans to help keep my computer cool? Also, I can run TOR at 100% maximum graphics and experience zero lag what so ever. I did try lowering the graphics to medium but this problem still comes up. Cherers for any and all replies. It really is appreciate!
  16. Anyone know if this is still planned?
  17. It was just an example. If someone wants the name "MagicUnicornofGlory" and to RP as such, let them.
  18. I am also on an RP server and I agree with you. However, who are you, myself or anyone else for that matter to tell someone who or what they can't RP as? If someone wants to RP as a teletubbie, who are we to stop them?
  19. Actually, we were never promised anything. There was 'leaked' info that it would be free, but BW didn't say anything official about it.
  20. Exactly. No news from BW because they have no news to give us. Unsub till it comes.
  21. As Damion Scubert said himself at the 2012 Guild Summit, the best thing to do is to just report them.
  22. They were forced to open more servers at launch which resulted in he vast of majority of them dying a few months after, which is why we now only have a few servers. Long story short, not gonna happen.
