  1. Actually acid blade has been this way since launch -- well it used to be 50% but it's always been a buff to your armor penetration rather than a debuff to your target's armor. As to 36 vs 31 point acid blade, I guess it's annoying that you'll get it later if you're leveling an op for the first time, but overall the concealment tree has been significantly improved. Backstab, lacerate and overall energy management have all been buffed.
  2. Venahsu Illegal Test Kitchen Highest Heals ever for a Powertech http://i.imgur.com/00Ph0R5.jpg I think I like the pyro PT pvp changes so far. And not just that swtor finally counts PT self heals on the scoreboard. I think the skill cap has been raised which is good for the spec. The new root-breaks are amazing. Kolto overload doesn't hold up as well under focus-fire as I thought it would. I thought it was undying rage under a different name, but that's not really the case. Vs. one opponent you're very durable but vs. 3 you're just as dead.
  3. With the shortened gcd, it's now possible to follow up the knockdown on hidden strike with another move (debilitate, for instance) before knocked-down player can react unless he cc-breaks. Pretty sure they'll nerf this.
  4. It does AOE damage when grenade is on cooldown to prevent node spam caps. It's basically the operative's only option for AOE stealth detect (and a crappy one at that but I've occasionally caught players who combat stealthed right in front of me). It also does white damage vs. tech-immune assassins. All that said, it's not a skill I use regularly.
  5. You can talk theorycraft re: the rogue archetype, but I don't think that's really the problem in this game. Basically BW way overrated the utility of off-heals to balance the dps/heal classes vs. the dps/tanks. See how dps ops, mercs, and sorcs are all gimped where dps juggs, powertechs and tank-hybrid sins are fine. Part of the problem is that there are only so many globals in a given wz and that each gcd a concealment op uses on a heal is one he can't use to stab something. It's doubly bad if the heal gets interrupted. The classes that use taunts instead of off-heals to mitigate damage don't have this problem since taunts are neither interruptable nor on the gcd. The roll and alacrity changes might actually help with this problem as an op might be able to cast from the back line, roll in to backstab, shiv, lacerate, lacerate, then roll back out to cast more heals while backstab comes off cooldown. Probably not though.
  6. I'm planning to queue and I've heard probably-maybes from two or three others. We might wind up being free agents.
  7. I just hope Sev'row doesn't see this thread. He definitely ganks me more often than I gank him.
  8. Another pvp hero parse: http://www.torparse.com/a/163710 Toon: Venahsu Guild: Grim Determination DPS: 1564 from 7:02:15 to 7:07:15
  9. You're saying you will be bringing a team to Monday games once 2.0 drops?
  10. Neo: I understand your frustration with lack of recent success in rated wzs, but there's no reason to lash out at me with accusations and sarcasm. As I've said before, you are a skilled player and I enjoy facing off against you. I hope to see you on Monday or on Friday if you'd rather queue for the more casual ranked night.
  11. Neo, I'd ask that on the weeks you don't bring a team for ranked you don't post in the ranked thread. No offense, but your point of view on ranked matches is necessarily out of date since you queue for them so rarely.
  12. Hard to break damage-taken records without at least two strong healers on your team. Otherwise people die too fast and spend time in the penalty box instead of soaking up dps.
  13. Can't roll while rooted by the leap, so we still need a stun to get away from smash.
  14. Changes to collateral strike average out to about 16% buff to lacerate damage. Assume that collateral strike gives 25% extra damage on lacerate. So we'll pretend that lacerate does 100 damage and lacerate + collateral strike does 125. Start with 2 TA and assume target is dotted up. On live these scenarios are possible: 1) Lacerate (no proc) + lacerate (no proc) = 200 damage 2) Lacerate (proc) + lacerate (no proc) + lacerate (no proc) = 325 damage 3) Lacerate (no proc) + lacerate (proc) + lacerate (no proc) = 325 damage Scenario 1) happens .5 * .5 = 25% of the time Scenario 2) happens .5 * 1 * 1 = 50% of the time Scenario 3) happens .5 * .5 * 1 = 25% of the time Weighted average damage = [(200 * 25) + (325 * 50) + (325 * 25) / 100 = ~294 On the pts these scenarios are possible 1) Lacerate (no proc) + lacerate (no proc) = 200 damage 2) Lacerate (no proc) + lacerate (proc) + lacerate (no proc) = 325 damage 3) Lacerate (no proc) + lacerate (proc) + lacerate (proc) = 350 damage 4) Lacerate (proc) + lacerate (no proc) + lacerate (no proc) = 325 damage 5) Lacerate (proc) + lacerate (no proc) + lacerate (proc) = 350 damage 6) Lacerate (proc) + lacerate (proc) + lacerate (no proc) = 350 damage 7) Lacerate (proc) + lacerate (proc) + lacerate (proc) = 375 damage At first seems like a minimal difference, but there's much lower chance that you'll get screwed with a double no-proc. Double no proc happens only .3 * .3 = 9% of the time. Triple proc happens .7*.7*.7 = 34% of the time. Weighted average of this damage: (200 *9) + (325 *6.3) + (350 *14.7) + (325 *6.3) + (350 *14.7) + (350 *14.7) + (375 *34) / 100 = ~ 341 341 / 294 = 1.16 = 16% damage buff on lacerate. Not too bad.

  16. The stim boost one I can answer. You use one at time = 0 one at time = 2min one at time = 4min for a total of 3.
  17. Yehaw cracked 1600 between 14:23:03 and 14:28:03 http://www.torparse.com/a/151517 I'm claiming moral victory for pvp heroes everywhere =D Ushanev 1605 dps Grim determination Edit: Also, grats Melyn -- that's one of the highest scrapper passes I've seen anywhere.
  18. Great damage number, though it's somewhat inflated -- you can inflict 100-300 more dps on the lvl 50 dummy on your ship than on the lvl. 55 dummy on the fleet. Gear/rotation questions: Stock Arkanian gear or are you stacking alacrity? Looks you're getting in a lot of attacks (even when you account for the damage-dealing relic). Looks like you never use sabotage charge. Have you found that's a dps loss? Also looks like you're getting in a lot of sucker punches. Have you found it's better to just use all of the UH's for sucker punches instead of leaving one up for the damage boost?
  19. The new kolto overload needs to be mentioned. It's very difficult for a concealment op to burst through it. I have no idea about lethality. Once it starts ticking you need to mez/kite/los for its eight-second duration.
  20. Only have pvp gear but I'll post my best parse on the live fleet ops dummy so far: http://www.torparse.com/a/148924 Two fights on this log. You can ignore the first. Second is 1564 dps. Timing on this thread is a bit off, btw. Numbers from the pts are blowing away anything on live. I can parse over 2000 dps on the fleet ops dummy (confident I can hit 2100 with the stock Arkanian gear if I get the rotation just right). Marauders and PTs are reporting 2400+ Some are claiming 2800+ but none of those that I've seen have been on the level 55 fleet ops dummy.
  21. I know I love 100-200ms lag =D Let's do it!
  22. Yes 20 power is better than 10 cunning even with the buffs considered.
  23. 1) Ushanev 2) Operative 3) Ol' Stabby 4) Daniel Day-Lewis
