  1. The sense of entitlement in this post is just... Staggering. "I don't complain so you shouldn't complain either even if you feel you are receiving worse service for higher price for no real reason!" Come on. Yes, the servers have to be down during someone's prime time, but it should be the time when the least amount of people are playing. That's the night. A lot of people like to point out that many people are working during EU maintenance hours. While that is true, there are also a lot of players to whom that is a good time to play. There are a lot of school kids playing this game for example, many of them get home way before the maintenance ends, especially if it gets extended. There are also retired people, unemployed people, people who don't work 9 to 17... That's a lot of people there, much more people affected than would be affected by nighttime maintenance. It just doesn't matter if we get patches a bit later or a bit earlier if it means better maintenance time. I really like this game and I don't like to see people unsubbing because of something so easily avoidable (JUST SCHEDULE THE MAINTENANCE DURING THE NIGHT)... Yet they are unsubbing and this is one of the reasons.
  2. Easy solution: Ignore this guy. He provided absolutely no reasoning behind his argument. There are two primary modes of gameplay in most MMOs, PvE and PvP. No dual spec pretty much forces you to choose either one if you want to be good. With dual spec, you can actually be competent and have fun in both. Without dual spec it is much more difficult. As for the OP's idea... Not a good one. It would just be a worse form of dual spec. If the bonuses from retaining the same spec for long were practically meaningless, the whole system would be. If the bonuses were actually meaningful, it would create a situation where new players can just never catch up with old players never mind how good they are or how much they play. That would be stupid.
  3. Alright, there's no way this can be a serious post... At least the first two paragraphs can't be anything but trolling. But I'll respond anyways. There was at least one good point there. The 'go back to WoW' argument really is getting very, very old. A majority of the people who complain the most seem to complain because the game is TOO SIMILAR TO WOW and they have grown tired of WoW... I really doubt any of them would want to go back to it. So stop calling them WoW fanboys or something similar. That's most likely just not true.
  4. No... Just do separate maintenances. It's not exactly rocket science.
  5. Yes, we can't know for sure the reasons behind it... But most MMOs that have separate servers also do separate maintenances. If we complain enough BioWare just might start doing it too, which would improve the service a lot for me and many other Europeans.
  6. So... Complaining about a bad service is a first world problem? I am pretty sure it happens even in the poorest countries. This has absolutely nothing to do with a sense of 'entitlement' either. It is just complaining about a service that I enjoy but is handled pretty badly. I would really love to see it improved (Separate maintenances!). Compare this with say a movie theater. The theater sells tickets that are more costly than normal tickets but they let you go see movies every day. Now the movie theater obviously needs maintenance time. Of course you expect that maintenance to be during the NIGHT when people aren't watching movies... But this movie theater belongs to a global chain so they do it during the day. To make it worse, this was NOT MENTIONED when you bought the ticket! Most movie theaters would do it during the night no matter if they belong to a global chain or not, so people would naturally assume this is the same. For no real reason European players are receiving worse service for higher price than American players... Why are some people so surprised they are complaining about it?
  7. Yes, it is easy to find something else to do during the maintenance and make plans for something else. However, if you are really an adult you will also realize that adults will often have schedules that are not very flexible. While it may be easy to find something else to do, it may be very difficult to find the time to play some other day. Not everyone is a college kid with flexible schedules. To everyone who likes whining about how people should be at work or school, consider this: School days often end up at 14 or 15. Maintenance ends at 18. That's at least 3 hours of lost game time for school kids, more if maintenace gets extended. Work days often end at 16. That's at least an hour, maybe more. Some people work earlier shifts or nights, which increases the time again. And if this continues, it will be EVERY SINGLE TUESDAY. Europeans are clearly getting less for the service. And they are paying more. I really can't understand why they just refuse to do separate maintenances for US and EU servers. It must be some kind of a technical issue they have been unable to solve, they wouldn't do something that stupid otherwise. Please BioWare, try to solve those issues and fix this. Yes for separate maintenances!
  8. You know this is untrue. Why do you say this? They could have separate maintenances for American and European servers. That would cause a smaller amount of people to be affected. They can't seriously think that European players would really care about receiving a patch a day later more than losing a lot of game time without getting any compensation. For those who like whining about people being in work or school... Consider this. School often ends at around 15 (or even earlier for younger students). Maintenance ends at 18 EARLIEST in Eastern Europe. Workdays often end at 16, sometimes earlier too. If the maintenance gets extended that's at least 2 or 3 hours of lost game time. For those who say "Do something else!". Not everyone is a college kid. Not everyone has such flexible schedules. While doing something else during the maintenance is easy, finding that time to play some other time is NOT.
