  1. With the different styles of RP, I find that the biggest block.

If its too detailed, or not enough detail. Maybe a character is not found to be realistic enough?

Too many RPers will rather move away then interact at all,

I think there is also some confusion that RP means Role Policing instead of Role Play to some people, Ive seen players go off at others over things they shouldnt be bothered with and just interacting with them regardless

It would be nice to have a hub somewhere, yes yes i know the Cantina at the Fleet is the place you can find a few people, but having something bigger then that would be ideal

Yes as Darka stated, there needs to be a hub other than the cantina where RP takes place. As someone who just transferred to this server, I am having somewhat of a hard time finding players to RP with,

  2. No I read it correctly. I don't want free transfers. Free transfers mean anyone who hears whispers of a mass exodus will be more inclined to be a lemming and follow suit, thus making those whispers a self fulfilling prophecy. You open free transfers, and you essentially kill a server. I very much doubt everyone thinks an $18 transfer is worth leaving the server... so I’m happy with that.

That is some faulty logic. Here are some facts. Our server is the most underpopulated server in the US. If by some chance I overstated that, then it is at least in the top 3. With that said, there is a RP server that has a larger population and they actively pvp there. Would it not make sense to allow players on that server the chance to transfer to a RP-PVP server? I doubt a majority of Jung Ma's population would transfer to Ebon Hawk (maybe another pvp server), but I am almost certain a good amount of Ebon Hawk would transfer to Jung Ma if given the opportunity. You can be happy with a underpopulated server all you want, you found your community and that is great. All I want to do is expand our community so we can have more than the same few faces in our RP, competitive pvp, and progressive raiding (Republic side). I'm not trying to create forum drama, I'm actively putting ideas out that will help our server survive the transfers of 2.2.

P.S. Imperials have a better population on Jung Ma than the Republic.

source: I play on republic and imps.

  3. No thanks. If you think the grass is greener on ERPbon Hawk, then I feel the risk you take trying moving an entire community should have consequences. You also break up the community in doing so. Even making it free would not convince some players (I can only speak for me and I fall under this category) to transfer. I LOVE my names on this server. I love the interactions they've had. If some go and some stay, it breaks the continuity of their stories. I love that we've had RP after massive PvP fights (which can be annoying when people blue wall you). I love the community we've formed. We are even beginning to see more inter guild interaction with events. Jung Ma has consistently put out quality RP events, I'll remind you: (source) (Source) (Source)

We often beat other servers on the number of events we have up on that spotlight blog. There are other instances where we match Ebon Hawk in RP events that got highlighted by Bioware. This community is thriving; I don't see why when PvPers are gearing up to leave that the RPers would throw in the towel on the last RP-PvP server and split this fledgling RP community.

I find it funny people are all about preserving the last RP-PvP server out there... but most people posting about that don't RP. If you do RP and you posted on this thread, my apologies. It's difficult to see a guild with the name <project mayhem> as an RP organization at first glance (and I've never known anyone to RP from there). The RP community that enjoys PvP should remain, in my opinion, while those who PvP only should seek the server with an appropriate designation. It shouldn't be the other way around.

I love the fact that PvPers are looking for more competition; I truly wish them the best of luck in finding it. When you join an RP-PvP server, the main focus is intended to not be PvPing, but a combination. It is inevitable then, that some players will never focus on that singular aspect and thus competition in PvP may suffer as a result.

I've spoken to my clan regarding these thoughts, and we've unanimously decided to remain to continue RPing and PvPing on Jung Ma.

you totally misinterpreted what I was saying, I proposed the opportunity for individuals to transfer between servers for free. Since we cannot merge the two servers due to one being pve and the other pvp it gives the opportunity for individuals to choose where they would like to go. I plan on staying on Jung Ma myself but I fear that a majority of players won't.

  4. I propose bioware opens free character transfers between The Ebon Hawk and Jung Ma for the preservation of our RP community. By doing this, those who wish to bring over their entire guild and experience RP-PVP can do so at not cost, and those who would rather RP-PVE can do the same. Consequently both servers will remain intact post 2.2 and Jung Ma will once again have competitive PVP.

Of course bioware won't do this because it makes too much sense.

  6. <Pride in The Republic>

With SWTOR recently going free2play, I figured a few of you gaymers would be interested in my guild.

I am the GM of <Pride in The Republic> on The Shadowlands server. We are an 18+ LGBT/Ally friendly guild with open recruitment. We are a week old, but since that time have amassed a coalition of 100+ members!

We are open to all players, New/Old/Returning for leveling assistance, flashpoints, weekly events and coming soon - ranked pvp & progressive operations! We have all the amenities a potential guildmate would need; a fully operational ventrillo server, a guild bank with a weekly repair/respec allowance for members, a website and a podcast!

I should note that if you're not apart of the LGBT community you are more than welcomed to join as well, we have plenty of straight members including one of our founders Vynash. Ultimately, I would like to have this guild be a nexus for peace and equality and a safe haven for those who aren't fortunate to be themselves and express their sexuality freely without fear of being shunned by their community. It's been a week, but I think we're really onto something and I wish us continued success!

  7. It's more about escaping the heteronormative views of most gamers. For example, all too often players refer to negative aspects of gaming as "gay" and while this may not be offensive to all homosexuals, to some it is and I would like to establish an ingame environment where LGBT members can interact and game with other LGBT members unperturbed.

On an anecdote, all males on vent flirting with the one female member makes me personally uncomfortable, as well as a bunch of guys talking about their sex lives. I'm sure you wouldn't want to hear about mines. Trust me you may not understand, but guilds like these have a purpose.

  8. With the growing server community due to f2p, I feel now would be a great time to have one on The Shadowlands. The Harbinger has a few, why not us?

First and foremost we're gamers, so everyone is welcomed to join.

If you're new to TOR or a veteran player such as myself (been here since pre-launch) let me know here and we'll start planning the details. The idea behind this guild will be to assist new players with leveling and learning the game in a non-discriminatory setting. Ultimately, I'd like to see this guild to grow and do progressive raiding and ranked PVP. . Likeminded LGBT gamers such as myself who enjoy the social aspect of mmo's as well as the competitiveness of PVE/PVP content would be a great fit. New players, established players, alts, and of course you server hoppers out there are more than welcomed to join.

  9. First off, I'm posting here because I am unable to post on the customer service section of the forum because my account still hasn't been upgraded to subscriber status as of 11/15/2012 despite the 60 day game-time code I provided.

With that said, I resubscribed to this game foolishly falling for your marketing strategy of rewarding complementary cartel coins to past subscribers. I not only didn't receive my 2300 coins, but I was lied to by customer support after waiting on the line for 5 hours! The respresentative told me I should expect it within 48 hours. Excuse me, but stop lying to your customers and providing generic answers and ignoring their stipulations. I told your "highly trained staff" that it's been 5 days and he just repeated the darn 48 hour window bs like a drone. Mind I was a lot more respectful to him than I am now because frankly he's not to blame as i'm sure the upper echelons force employees to regurgitate that crap. Oh, and after being told if it's been longer than 48 hours to call back even after explaining it has... I hung up and found my 3 customer support tickets to be deleted in game. Bravo!

Please look into my case because I speak on behalf of all the people with issues when saying that this isn't the service we paid for.
