  1. This is so disappointing... I'm an achievement hunter to a degree and mainly did DvL so that I could get the achievements more so than the packs. To have all those hours of achievement progress wiped... it hurts. I would hope that you guys could reverse your plans and somehow reward us back our achievements and come up with a better method for future events.
  2. How is it simply a text issue when completing Depths of Manaan doesn't grant it?
  3. I'm interested in both NiM prog and 16 mans. I have a lot of new toons courtesy of this dreaded event. I know how to DPS on all advanced classes sufficiently enough for Hardmodes but excel at all Assassin/Shadow and Mercenary/Commando DPS disciplines since I main and alt main them respectively. Those two are the only ones I'd feel comfortable enough with doing for NiM since they are second nature for me. They both have full 224 set bonuses while all my toons have 224 mainhands and 220 offhands. My pubs, since I've never really done too much raiding with are all rocking 208 ear/imp/relics though. I can also Shadow Tank (6 piece mixed rating set) and Scoundrel Heal (6 piece mixed rating set) if needed but again left side gear is weak and not overly comfortable with them in more difficult HMs. The majority of my raiding experience occurred during 3.X where I was 4/5 HM Rav with Ruugar down to 30% before my raid team team dissolved due to inner turmoil, 4/5 HM ToS, killed 8m HM Monolith, and did some NiMs with friends since we were over leveled. I was also 4/10 in 16m Rav/ToS but unfortunately most of the players for that raid team were subpar DPS's making Underlurker/Torque impossible to beat. In 4.X, I pretty much stopped raiding around December since my raid team dissolved pretty quickly but we were clearing HMs no problem. I've joined a raid team imp side about a month or so ago and have been working on HM M&B with them on Tues/Wed after 11p ET. I have teamspeak, discord, vent, mumble, starparse, and groupme. I'm more than happy to do any HM raid or parse, or whatever as a tryout to prove I don't suck and don't have any type of sucky attitude. I also understand that a Shadow may not be desirable for NiM prog for some bosses and am willing to accept being restricted to my Mando or improve my skill on some other class if needed. I can be found on imp or pub side just by searching "Ayi". All my toons' names are those same 3 letters followed by a consonant.
  4. Thanks for this list. I can understand certain achievements being unobtainable due to something like a sub reward (albeit annoying) or removed content like the NiM KP/EV. But things like Treek's/HK-55's achievements being straight up broken is inexcusable as well as unobtainable achievements due to removed content not related to the achievement, such as Galactic Loremaster now being impossible because they removed the staged weekly. They thought it was worth removing the Staged Weekly achievements that people worked hard on but yet couldn't have the sense to realize that a codex lore entry was tied to it. That's just stupid. Edit: oh and adding/"fixing" achievements but not making them retroactive. I called it to my friends that when they add HM FPs to the Legend DvL achievement that it won't unlock for them if they already did the HM FP achievement, and yep, that turned out the be the case, And of course they decide as they are releasing Ch16 to add a Ch10-16 achievement to complement the 1-9 one. Of course, it doesn't retroactively work which is quite annoying.
  5. Was it just wishful thinking or bad QA? But under Companions > Shared > HK-55, it is still showing no achievements and 0 out of 0 possible points to obtain.
  6. LOL, So they fixed the Legend DvL achievement to include the Hardmode Flashpoints but they didnt fix the other achievement issue apparently. They said the Arma Rosa achievements now properly display (HK-55 recruitment) but nope, still 0/0 and not displaying. Now I know the patch isnt supposed to be live so maybe this will work better tomorrow when the server is patched, but this is sad.
  7. So what about Depths of Manaan? I thought it was supposed to be fixed?
  8. So with this new event, as a couple friends and myself have been running through Hardmode Flashpoints together and doing the bonus bosses, we've noticed not a single Decoration has dropped. I don't understand why these would be removed. Especially with how crummy the loot is. All that drops is Exotic Isotope Stabilizers and crummy 216 mk2 gear. This doesn't leave much motivation to do flashpoints beyond achievements or if it is something you just enjoy doing. Any chance we could get the decorations brought back into Hardmode Flashpoints?
  9. 1) As far as I know, no. I have had them parse on the fleet dummy but the annoyance is you end up having to add the numbers in the log yourself which means you end up doing nothing more than burst parses and the numbers vary too much. 2) So what I recommend doing is getting all companions to influence 10 or some other common denominator. From there, manually pull out each companion, buff them with your class buffs, and then look at each ability they have as a DPS and Healer. Look at the activation times, cooldowns, and attack values. You will end up finding for DPS that melee have more instant abilities while the ranged have to activate them, otherwise values are the same. Xalek to me is a great baseline. Among healers, he is a top dog. I've yet to find a companion with higher values on their heals than Xalek. Now a lot of companions are even with him for healing, but many are also lower than him. For example, Qyzen has an ability that for whatever reason, does significantly less than whatever baseline is making him substandard for healing. Treek for example has long cooldowns across all abilities as a healer making her a terrible healer since unlike most companions, she can't heal 100% of the time. So if you are using a healer, Xalek is great. If you don't like Xalek, a lot of companions are great alternatives. Xalek is also a great baseline among DPS. For a single wielder, he also is top dog in DPS. If you compare his abilities, no one has better cooldowns than him or higher ability damage values. Plenty of companions are equal with him meaning Xalek isn't the only best choice, but quite a few are lesser than him. For example, for whatever reason, Lana Beniko has an ability that has a 2 second longer cooldown than everyone else weakening her potential DPS. HK-51 is single target only weakening his DPS potential against multiple enemies (I do not know if he parses higher single target though). Even though Qyzen is a bad choice for healing, his values equal that of Xalek so he can also DPS. An interesting find that I was pointed toward for DPS though is that dual-wielders do more damage than single wielders. Unfortunately I don't have many companions that fit this bill to make this a blanket statement but, the dual wielders from the Star Fortress stuff were subpar because their secondary weapon does no damage practically. I'm not sure if this has been fixed yet or not. I was told Vette is a great DPS to have when needing a ranged but I have yet to look at her values. I can state for a fact though, that Ashara seems to be the best DPS companion in the game so far that is a melee companion. The reason being is her force bonus damage seems to be just slightly higher than Xalek's and one of her abilities does more damage than Xalek's at influence 50. Everything else is exactly the same. Not to mention, her offhand weapon deals damage, that Xalek doesn't have. To further prove the point, when I switched from Influence 50 Xalek to Influence 50 Ashara for the speed run contest, I immediately shaved 15 seconds off my time. I know not all classes have access to Ashara, but from what I've heard, Vette is the ranged alternative to Ashara and everyone can get her.
  10. Hey everyone, awhile back when The Eternal Championship first came out, I made some guide videos for the community in hopes of assisting those that were struggling with completing certain aspects of The Eternal Championship. I thought I'd make a brief guide on the forums and share them here, especially in light of it being a requirement for the DvL event. Deathless Champion & Individual Boss Guide Sprint Champion Guide I hope everyone finds these guides useful. Feel free to post questions or suggestions I will try to respond to them to the best of my ability. Shout out to all the speed runners that put their logs up on parsely during the speed run contest as that helped me to develop a refined speed running guide and a special shout out to Solaná for specifically giving me tips for Assassin. Please everyone refrain from bringing up the contest itself though in the thread as that is not the intent of this post.
  11. I got a little curious today so I decided to spend a few minutes copying and pasting some numbers into excel from Parsely to look at where classes are currently comparing to each other statistically speaking. I thought I'd share my findings with everyone. Please note that these numbers from parsely are based on a near perfect rotation, a little bit of crit luck, and are purely for single target PvE DPS. They typically reflect a best case scenario. Things will vary in a raid scenario such as mobility/range restrictions, special abilities that deal damage back upon receiving damage, and of course Area of Effect (AoE). Since 224 gear has been out for over a half a year and no major class changes have occurred recently that would affect a dummy parse, I'd consider it safe to say this is where current classes potential Single Target DPS sit. I looked at two different ranges of values. All came from the 1.5 mil Dummy since that's where the majority of parses seem to be as well as gives a good idea of sustained damage while allowing burst disciplines multiple opportunities to ramp up. Please note: I recalculated DPS from the TTK instead of from the log itself. First I looked at pure top parses. It's interesting to see what the best parses are for each mirror discipline. In many scenarios though the top parse has first by multiple seconds which in many cases turns out to be a string of lucky crit rates on one or more abilities. So the second thing I did was take the top 15 parses from each set of mirror disciplines and averaged them to get somewhat of a top average parse. It's not perfect since the more played disciplines as well as more parsed disciplines will have a better shot at having a higher overall average but it still paints a decent picture at seeing what people are doing with the class single target wise. Here's a link to the screenshot of the spreadsheet. (it's an imgur link). It is also typed out below in the spoiler tags. Top Overall Parses Average of Top 15 Parses Information current as of July 2nd, 2016.
  12. It'd be nice if we could set our graphics separately from instances for flashpoints, operations, and warzones. Depending on the system people use, performance varies rapidly in this game due to the engine. I can play maxed out planet side while doing dailies, heroics, leveling, etc. but when it comes to 8v8 Warzones and things like 16 man Operations, my computer starts to bog down from my everyday settings. I'm sure many others find themselves in the same situation and may even struggle to handle the smaller instances like 8 man Operations and Flashpoints. It'd be nice if we had multiple graphics preset options so that we can tune the performance of our graphics quality to the performance of play we require. At least having a 2nd Preset Option would be fantastic encompassing Warzones, Flashpoints, and Operations. Even better would be multiple presets based on the instance. Unranked Warzones, Ranked Arenas, Flashpoints, 8man Operations, 16man Operations, and of course the default preset for Open World. In all cases a loading screen separates these instances so having a graphics swap in the transition shouldn't be the most difficult thing to pull off. It'd be a nice quality of life option for many players that prefer performance over graphics for the more competitive content.
  13. Been using that Microsoft Authenticator app on Windows Phone for a while now. Has my swtor, microsoft, and google accounts on it so far. Works great. Nice to see I can finally stop using the unofficial steam app I was using. Annoying that steam doesn't use the same type of authenitcator system as the others I mentioned, that way I could just use the auntheticator app for steam too.
  14. Just wanted to put this out there. A group I was in was doing some 16m HM Ravagers last night and upon killing Quartermaster Bulo, he dropped 2 Revanite Headpieces and 1 Revanite Implant. Seemed a little odd considering we're currently on 4.6. Torque and Sparky dropped the correct gear (Exarch). For those that don't know what Revanite is, it's 198 gear from the 3.0 days. No one needed the gear really so not a big deal that it dropped that stuff, mostly just kind of funny, but probably something that should be looked into and fixed.
  15. I'm wondering, it's been more than half a year since level sync has been introduced and thus bolster removed from the Western Ice Shelf of Ilum yet the achievements for the Gree Event still require having bolster to progress them. Is this ever going to be fixed? Seems a little ridiculous that it is still broken months and month later after multiple Gree Events.
  16. Everyone here has mentioned the purge. But I guess more specifically what I'm asking is that the second my toons are given "inactive" status which occurs when a sub account goes preferred are the names available for taking till I choose to activate them? This question has never popped up for me before since every time my sub status wears off and I go preferred, I'm able to activate all of them, but now I could be looking at having 6 of them remain inactivated for a few months. Edit: Never mind, person above me answered the question, thank you guys for the help.
  17. So currently I have 8 toons in total and haven't been subbed for months. On referral time right meow. I'll probably sub for only a month sometime in the near future purely so I can have full access to season 1. Anyway, I have 9 available slots, 15 when subbed. For the upcoming event, I'm contemplating buying 1 more slot and then creating 8 new toons of the advanced classes I don't have before the referral time runs off. Whether I actually play them and participate in this event is another thing. Not exactly happy with it. The referral time ends this coming week so all my characters will become inactive and I will only be able to activate 10. Will the 6 toons I don't activate, which in this case are all level 65 and recently played be at risk of losing their character names since they are considered inactive?
  18. Will /stucking disqualify us from the event?
  19. I guess you've never watched speed runners attempt to do things like speed run Zelda, Mario, or other games. If they mess up real bad, they do what's called a reset. They turn off their console, and start over, without finishing their current run. Same concept here. Someone muffs up a run, they die or /stuck to die without having to wait 10-20 seconds for the boss to kill them (like what progression ops groups do) and either turn in the mission as is (option 3 on the EC terminal) or abandon the mission and reset phase. In both scenarios, they are forfeiting their current run and having to reacquire the mission and start over. I'm not sure what makes you think it's a shortcut. It wasn't a competition to complete the EC as many times as possible. It was to complete it as fast as possible. What people are upset about, and rightfully so, is that BioWare didn't properly communicate this to people and seemingly changed the rules without notice. They said a week in hey, if you use /stuck at any point to skip conversations, then you are disqualified with no mention of any other use being against the rules. Now with the contest over, they added that /stuck at all just to restart is grounds for disqualification and has led to a significant amount of individuals disqualified (easily way over 50% but I'd venture to guess over 90% based on parsely). Apparently just the act of typing /stuck in the EC however lead to dq. Even if you were legitimately stuck. That just seems silly and like lazy log analysis on BioWare's part. If they came out in the contest rules from the start and stated that using /stuck in the instance at all meant you would be disqualified, then this whole point would be moot since people would've known that BioWare considers it cheating for only the contest and not ToS actionable. There's no requirement to actually finish the full EC before attempting a new run. The fact the terminal inside itself offers you an option (option 3) to end at your current boss and be able to turn in the mission there for less rewards is representative of that fact. If I died on a run, which happened a lot because I was very greedy with my attempts to out DPS some bosses before they got me (Nocturno for example), then I chose option 3, turned in the mission, and restarted. If I messed up on Lanos where I didn't knockback his droids properly for example, I /stucked it because the run was ruined and I didn't care to spend another 15 seconds trying to kill him or let him kill me. When I rezzed, I took option 3, turned in the mission, and restarted. If the idea that I saved 15 seconds overall in being able to do a new run is considered cheating, then that's not true, because whether I finished the boss or not in that scenario for example, I still had to wait for things like my Heroic Moment to come off cooldown, I lost a potential increase in credits/comm, and even had a repair bill. So I gained no advantage whatsoever. Now once Musco came out and said that /stucking to skip conversations was grounds for dq, I stopped using /stuck to reset under fear that this would happen. I even asked for clarification in that thread but got no response. Turns out it was too late, the fact that I used /stuck to reset (not to subvert conversations to do runs faster) before they even said anything meant I was dq'd. It would have been nice to know so I could have just stopped wasting my time on it.
  20. Yes, when the majority of people used /stuck it was because the run was muffed and instead of waiting 10-15 seconds for the boss to kill you, just like any progression operations raid group, you would use /stuck to kill yourself immediately so that you can restart. Pulling that same boss over immediately or exiting the instance and re-entering defeated the purpose of it being a speed run because it would only make your time worse. After rezzing, people did 1 of 2 things, either go back to the terminal and choose Option 3 (which was to end at that boss). This allowed the player to at least collect some credits and comms for their current progression on the EC and be able to pick the mission up over again to make a new attempt. The other thing people did was just flat out exit after rezzing, abandon the mission, and reset the phase. This too allowed people to pick up the mission again. The key here was people needed to pickup the mission again because that was the start point of the timer for the run. Doing anything else lead to a worse time. The main outrage here is not so much that using /stuck was banned (albeit the use of /stuck being considered an exploit in order to restart the run is petty), but about a week into the contest Musco said in a forum post that using /stuck to skip conversations was an exploit and that any use up to and after that post was an immediate disqualifier. He at no point mentioned any other use of /stuck as being grounds for disqualification. Now after the contest, we all discovered that not only was skipping conversations considered illegal, but so was using /stuck at all since even the true top runner claims that he had to use /stuck once, because he was legitimately stuck. It was a lack of good communication to the player base from the start and rule changes that has people upset (also at no point was having a previous SWTOR ToS or forum violation mentioned in the contest ToS as disqualifiers). When roughly 90% of the community attempting to do this contest finds themselves disqualified, you have to ask, is it a problem with the player base or with the rules? I'm inclined to say the rules. This contest no longer became a speedrun contest and nothing more than a drawing. I personally was hoping to win a runner up prize for the free 180 day sub. I put about 15-20 hours into these runs over the course of the 2 weeks of the contest period about 100 attempts of which maybe 25 I finished. Based on what I know, I would've had the last runner up. So yea, I'm upset and dissapointed. I know though there is nothing I can do, anything I say is futile. So I've given up on that hope. The grand prize winner was 7th on parsely with a time 40 seconds slower than the first guy. The first runner up winner is 24th on parsely with a time 104 seconds slower than the grand prize winner. And the remaining 4 runner up winners don't even show up on parsely so they either never uploaded parses or are worse than the top 50 players on that leaderboard and have times so slow that they're barely close enough to even get the Sprint Champion achievement. Not a very competitive contest at this point.
  21. This is nearly the final straw for me. I don't want to waste anymore energy being angry with BioWare it's kind of just growing too much at this point and I know there is nothing I can do or say that will change anything. I'll be honest, this circumstance was in the back of my mind. I had a bad feeling that after they mentioned /stuck for conversation skipping was a disqualifier that somehow using /stuck at all was going to be the same even if not used inappropriately. I'll just add it to the list of disappointments. I don't know why I keep playing this game. At least I stopped subbing months ago so BW doesn't continue to get my money. I keep holding out this hope because I enjoy the game then continue to get slapped in the face. Considering BioWare already said they won't have new announcements till the end of the year (announcements, not content), you'd think I'd know better and just stop playing. The List of Disappointments: I still <3 you BioWare. I don't know why. Even though you don't <3 me. Such an abusive relationship.
  22. If it was said somewhere, it sure wasn't said in the official contest terms of service and I feel like that's a pretty important place to have such a rule.
