  1. If you put in for a character transfer to another server it's an instantaneous process. The client can do it without any kind of wait time at all. A cross-server GSF match would work the same way as a character transfer to another server. The only difference is it would only be temporary--at the end of the match it would put you back on your origin server.
  2. I have a hard time understanding why it would be so difficult to program AI when they did it quite well in X-Wing...that was all the way back in 1993. It's due to a lack of programming talent. But if we're going to play along with Bioware's excuses then at least put in some ground attack missions. That's what the battle of HOTH was...which has been recreated countless times over the years by programmers with MUCH less computing horsepower at their disposal.
  3. Yeah it's enough to make me keep an eye out for a GOOD space combat sim because this isn't it. Really all GSF needs is to throw the gunships in the trash can where they belong.
  4. I have some fond memories of the X-wing and Tie Fighter games. You had a few objectives to complete and a whole lot of dogfigting. But this...game(putting it nicely) is nothing but getting hit by railshots and ion shots while you're trying to dogfight. Why? The Star Wars movies were heavily influenced by the dogfight action of World War II. There were no sniper gunships that zip away faster than a scout ship as soon as anybody had the audacity to engage them. Outside of the DEATH STAR there was no one-shotting of any craft in Star Wars. There was no auto-aim ability for anybody. I'm just asking: why take something so good that alot of fans are fond of and screw it up so completely?
  5. I'm asking an honest question. Over 30 minutes in the queue is a long time. Especially on a double exp weekend. Are people just tired of it? Was GSF not implemted well? Look at my post record if you want. I don't come in here and troll and ask for nerfs etc. Again, honest question because I think something's wrong.
  6. I just came back after a few months off and the queues are taking forever on a double exp weekend. If it's because of bombers somebody at Bioware needs to get them out of the game ASAP. The upcoming housing thing is neat I guess...not that I was really asking for that since I already have a ship. I really think some PVE GSF gameplay is way overdue and the the current state of PVP is obviously not good.
  7. lol don't worry I put that up at that price just to prove a point. 9k credits vs. the cost of gathering is a still a pretty huge markup though.
  8. There really isn't much more to it than that. A F2P player with only one tradeskill slot can do this as well.
  9. Whenever Bioware creates a GSF map that disallows gunships and bombers, I and many others will be all over it.
  10. The Fury would be a good start at least. They'd only need one more model after that...this shouldn't be rocket science.
  11. There's no reason for it to be costly to change a ship model. All they have to do is render it and put it in. It's nothing that needs to be prolonged or drawn out for any reason. Just get it done and move on. I'd be happy to do it myself if they're really that strapped for cash.
  12. Exactly. I'm not saying anybody at Bioware needs to be let go over it but good golly, those ships look terrible! I could sketch something better on a napkin. Nobody needs to admit their mistake, just fix it and make SWTOR a better game for everybody.
  13. The first thing I thought when I jumped into GSF on the Imp side was how horrible the Imp strikers look. I couldn't even bring myself to fly the stupid looking things. I shouldn't even have to bring this up.
  14. This exactly. The only people who don't see a problem are gunship pilots and those who aren't on the wrong side of one of their premades.
  15. There shouldn't be capitol ship cannons at all. I'm sure the intent was to keep players from getting spawn-camped but in no other WZ are there cannons, turrets or anything at your spawn point that can be used against enemy players. Right now the only counter is to bring a gunship to their side of the map and pop them as soon as they leave the spawn area. Gunships have incredible mobility so it's definitely possible.
  16. It's baseless because you have no proof to back it up. Next!
  17. OP here. I see alot of criticisms and smack talk but I don't see ONE video of any of you guys doing it better. One of the reasons why they put gun cameras in real fighter planes back in the day was to confirm the kills pilots were bragging about. So for all of you here talking about skill and saying how I should do this or that better, let's see YOU queue solo and go up against six gunships. THEN we'll talk.
  18. I'm no ace and I just lone-wolf it in GSF but there's no better feeling than burning down pub gunships. Since pubs generally have 4 or more gunships in most matches I'm never hurting for targets... Anyway, I made a little GSF video as a tribute to the true pilots out there who are tired of cheapshot gunships with auto-aim and oneshot capability:
  19. Exactly. You get more mobility and higher DPS. Can't beat it.
  20. If you want speed you need to get Barrel Roll and upgrade it 2 levels. That gives you more mobility than Booster Recharge and allows you to slot Targeting Telemetry instead, which is a huge damage upgrade.
  21. Premades are what ruin it. I was sick from work yesterday so I got to play earlier in the day than usual and I was mopping up against repbulic on Shadowlands. I've added certain pub players to my friends list and I don't Q when they're on. It's not that the individuals are such great players, it's that they coordinate in voice chat with other players in their premade. They also ONLY play as gunships.
  22. I made so many mistakes building up my ships I was wondering when we would be able to respec the component trees?
