You do know that the patch servers are down / messed up right now, right? You shouldn't be patching at all: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=8624826#edit8624826

Known Issue. You can't do anything until they fix it with the next patch:

In the meantime, if you haven’t already submitted an in-game ticket to CS, please do so. Make sure to mention start at 60 in your ticket.
I'm assuming that F2P / Preferred players should email support@SWTOR.com if they used a buggy token and lost it? Or should they post on the new EA Answers support forum?

A few of us made a thread listing all of the new problems introduced in Game Update 4.0 on the SWTOR subreddit:

To anyone who has complete the achievement could you give me an estimated on how long it takes to complete as I haven't start it. I would like to get it done but I'm very busy right now.
Depends on the number of characters you have. It takes doing the Weekly about 3-4 times on each side to complete them all. Some of the dailies are very short (less than 5 minutes) and some are an hour long. Each Weekly requires you do 6 Dailies + 1 interlude mission. The achievements require that you do them in a certain order and some require you to do extra "Bonus" missions during the dailies:

dude thank you. that may just be exactly what we do. where do i find info on the guild strongholds? I really need to research that.
http://dulfy.net/2014/07/25/swtor-galactic-strongholds-tours-and-unlock-pricings/
Basically, Guild Strongholds are more expensive versions of personal Strongholds with one huge difference. In a Guild Stronghold, any guild member can donate decorations and anyone with a Gold Key can use those decorations to decorate the Guild Stronghold.

Check other retailers to see if they have a better deal on Cartel Coin Cards. They usually do. For example, Amazon.com has the card for $40 right now and that one comes with a free in-game pet. http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/dp/B00HWYDJH8
Not sure if paying through CC would be better for unlocking GSH rooms or buying Hypercrates with CC and selling them would be a better deal.

Nothing wrong on your end. There is a game issue with any planet that was added after 2.0 not having the shadows applied correctly. The shadow of the planet is covering the planet itself.
-
TY for the info.....have they lowered how many people it requires for an OP? Is there a list somewhere?
Normally, it requires 8 or 16 people for an Operation. Those that are overgeared can do it with less: some people have been able to solo certain Operation bosses.
There is a list of Operations here: http://www.reddit.com/r/swtor/wiki/returning_player#wiki_pve. Suggest you take a look at the rest of that page too.

And more importantly, what happened to trans-atlantic transfers?
NSA happened. Now various European governments and the EU itself has clamped down on the ability of "personal" data and electronical stuff that Europeans bought to be hosted on a server that is not in the EU.
As Eric said, its not a technical issue at all: the technology is there. It is a legality issue.

So it is still possible? Glad they kept this....sometimes OPs are just hard to make time for and I hate being "that guy" that doesn't show because life calls.
Yes, it is still possible. With the exception of the top tier, there are different ways to get each tier of gear.
These are for level 55 gear only:
- Tier 0: Artifact level 53 gear (besides mainhand): Crafting schematics and the Oricon storyline. The mainhand weapon is achieved the same way other Tier 1 gear is acheived.
- Tier 1: Black Market / Arkanian (besides mainhand): Level 50 HM Flashpoints, Terror from Beyond and Scum and Villainy Operations Story Mode, and solo missions. The mainhand weapon is achieved the same way Tier 2 gear is achieved.
- Tier 2: Verpine / Underworld (besides mainhand): All level 50 Flashpoints, WEEKLY missions for Daily zones, Terror from Beyond and Scum and Villainy Operations Hard Mode and Dread Fortress and Dread Palace Operations Story Mode. Mainhand weapon is only available from the Operations.
- Tier 2.5: Kell Dragon / Shadowed: Nightmare Mode Terror from Beyond and Scum and Villainy Operations only.
- Tier 3: Oricon/Dread Forged (besides mainhand): Level 55 HM Flashpoints, any level 55 Operation, and 1 Level 50 HM Operation per week. Mainhand weapon is only from Dread Fortress and Dread Palace Operations Hard Mode.
- Tier 3.5: Dread Master / Dread Touched: Nightmare Mode Dread Fortress and Dread Palace Operations.
- Tier 0: Artifact level 53 gear (besides mainhand): Crafting schematics and the Oricon storyline. The mainhand weapon is achieved the same way other Tier 1 gear is acheived.

"Raids" can mean one of 2 things:
- The most common use is as a synonym for "Operations." "Raids" is the MMO generic term for what SWTOR calls "Operations." You can read more about them here: http://www.swtor.com/holonet/operations
- A group of players that storm and "raid" the other faction's base (where their medical droids, taxis, mission givers, and quick travel points are) on a planet. Usually, they do this to draw attention to themselves and participate in Open World PvP.

So Colonel Darok requested two passes for additional clearance. Is the second person Theran Shan?
"Yes, he entered a request for two permits to allow deep subsurface travel, starting tomorrow."
I presume the woman is Lana Beniko. The second person would then be Darth Arkous.
Varko paused when he saw the record for the second person. “The second permit is for someone else entirely, however.”
In the first scene, that is Theran Shan (with short spiky hair and his small cybernetic implants) talking to Varko under an alias.
The second woman is Lana Beniko: mentions that she has a lot of hair and pale skin.
The two people that got the special permits are Darth Arkous and Colonel Darok. Varko shows both of these to Lana easily under a Jedi Mind Trick, while Theran only got to see Colonel Darok and could have gotten a glimpse of Darth Arkous (Varko could have not covered up the screen that well.)

Thanks!
Is this conquering aspect pve or pvp?
Both. Almost anything you do in the game helps you conquer planets if you are in a Guild with a Guild Ship:
http://dulfy.net/2014/08/07/swtor-planetary-conquests-guide/
-
What does this buff/ability actually do? Can it be used in operations and any aspect of the game?
Only in the open world on full planets (no daily zones) and only on the planet your ship has conquered or is currently conquering.

Am i right that you got it when you did mission on imperial side only?
Did you do this mission on first day of event?
I did it on the Republic side first and got the achievement. It was on the first day of the event.
-
It can do this when you have a bad connection.
Check the Customer Service forum's stickies at the top on how to do a Traceroute and Pathping. Anything over 200 ms or 3% loss is bad.

I believe Eric Musco has said that the next patch will be 2.10 (full release of Galactic Strongholds to the rest of the population in October). And 3.0, the next RotHC sized expansion, will be around December/January.
2.10 will be coming out on September 9 if there are no problems. 3.0 could be out in November; they have stated that it will be released this year.
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=753420
- Game Update 2.10 is close! – We have bumped any class changes we were considering for 2.9 into Game Update 2.10. The reason is that 2.10 is only a few weeks later (currently slated for September 9th) and allows to give some “breathing room” around 2.9’s large update.
3.0 story depends on the story in 2.7, 2.9, and 2.10. We will likely not see what 3.0 story will be about until after 2.10 (or possibly 2.9 if enough is revealed then.)

New Player Section for questions like this is here: http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=8
That being said, you can change your race for Cartel Coins using an Appearance Designer. You can find these on the Fleet and the Capital Worlds.

Thank you for the timely reply sir. Ok, so I have 6GB of ddr3 ram which means I fall into this category.
4077MB (strict minimum) to 4589MB+ (warning's end) : LocalApps + DiskCacheArena + FX
I select all 3, then I select save and close, then I select swtor unleashed. but when the game loads, its the exact same performance fps and loading times wise as it is without unleashed.
I feel like Im doing something wrong.
Most people do not see a big change in FPS except when loading lots of players and their unique armors. You also will not see a difference in load times for the initial logon load, but should see them when going between taxi zones and planets / ships.
People with SSD's only get about 10% of the benefit over those with regular slower Hard Drives.
-
Edit: Also with the return of the Mako they are at least bringing back (in part) some of the features that made the original game fun of course I say in part because the new Mako seems to be just an armored transport now instead of the AFV that it used to be.
It is just an armored transport now: read the article in the original post. They are taking away the Mako's cannon.

Make sure that the app is set up to be used with your account only. If you are using a key that was set up with a different account, it will not work with yours.
-
I cannot for the life of me seem to get this working the way it should be. I feel like I am not checking off the right files. All im trying to do is start a character on Tython to test the fps difference. What should I be ticking off?
What to check for which usage?
Considering the 2.5GB required by SWTOR and the 512MB advised to keep free :
3052MB (strict minimum) to 3564MB+ (warning's end) : LocalApps + FX
3901MB (strict minimum) to 4413MB+ (warning's end) : LocalApps + DiskCacheArena
4077MB (strict minimum) to 4589MB+ (warning's end) : LocalApps + DiskCacheArena + FX
6724MB (strict minimum) to 7236MB+ (warning's end) : LocalApps + DiskCacheArena + FX + Dynamic
Note that the amounts given should be what amount of RAM you have available when you start up Windows. It is not your total RAM: some background processes will be running.
